First of all, you must already know that this is a camp in middle of beautiful desert. By saying that, it is quite a cozy camp. The permanent tent rooms have relatively comfortable bed and blankets as well as electricity until 10pm. There is shared bathroom with modern toilets and common tent with charging facility for your cameras and camcorders. So what else do you need to enjoy the red rocks, sand dunes and starry skies while getting the taste of Bedouin lifestyle? The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Ali and Petra went out of their way and took good care of us while we were there. Highly recommended.

The staff was quick to answer my email questions about available options for my family of four to enjoy in the desert. They were very practical, and took the needs of our small kids to heart in recommendations. When we arrived and decided we wanted to do more than we had planned, they quickly made arrangements for us, and there was room in a jeep for our family and another couple. We took a four-hour jeep ride, and there was something for everyone at each stop--petroglyphs, a spring where camels drink, the site where T.E. Lawrence lived, and huge soft dunes of red sand to run or roll down. It was a great mix of driving through the desert and stopping to explore and enjoy. The tour guide got us back to camp to experience a quiet sunset in the small hills nearby. Around the camp fire, Bedouin played music, my kids danced, and we all sipped tea. They explained how the food was prepared--it was delicious!!! After dinner, they talked about Bedouin history and their lives in the desert, and asked if we had any questions. Stars shone extra-brightly with no light pollution. When the generator went off at 10 p.m., our hosts encouraged us to enjoy the desert, but to keep it quiet, so everyone could enjoy it. The camp was magically still. One man stayed up to photograph the stars with time-lapse photography. I heard our host tell him what cushions and linens he could take to sleep under the stars. We were bleary-eyed from hiking Petra that morning and fell into a dead sleep immediately. The whole experience was personable and satisfying. There was plenty of room for all my camera gear in the jeep we took on our tour. There were locks on the tent doors, so we could secure our belongings during dinner. We brought plenty of water for tooling around, and there were water bottles available during dinner. We took a short camel ride back to the Rum village the next morning, and our bags were waiting for us at our hosts home, where we had parked. There wasn't anything I didn't like, really, but I can see one might be surprised if one came to the desert and didn't bring a flashlight, or expected his and hers bathrooms. The camp has plans to install solar power in the future, and to build a second bathroom. But for now, two hours of power to recharge batteries and change in tents by hanging lamp was plenty for us in the evening. The existing bathroom has full doors on all stalls, european style toilets, and was plenty modest and comfortable for us. We had a wonderful stay--a favorite in all my travels so far. My one regret is that we only stayed one night--I would love to have stayed longer, taken another tour to other parts of the desert, and spent more time quietly enjoying the camp.

Amazing stay in Wadi Rum!. We were met at the visitor centre and taken to the head office where we were shown the activities and prices for the next couple of days.We were immediately on a 4 hour tour of the desert with our guide Allah. On arrival at the camp we were shown our accommodation, .which as expected was basic but comfortable. After watching an amazing sunset, we had a superb beduin dinner and waited for the magical display from the night sky. Our tour/hike the next day took us to more amazing places and again the guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and above all a good friend. This camp is highly recommended!!

Overall good, insight main protective area, style is very basic camping, but fun for one night, memorable.... They should separate the one and only very basic bathroom or wash facilities into male and female, any sort of light in the loo would be useful as well. Food very basic, but good.

The entire experience at the camp was too good. We were overwhelmed with the hospitality of the people. The owner himself and his family runs the camp and they are very friendly, helpful and great people. Attalah, Ala, Ali everyone was amazing and helped us out lot. Very safe, comfortable & affortable place to stay.

In ottima posizione e molto bene organizzato.

Daarentegen is overnachting goedkoop.
