host was very helpful, went out of his way to drive us to a restaurant after arriving late, breakfast was great and onsen were excellent
beds were squeaky when you rolled in bed and pillow were too small
This is a family run small guest house. The room is very basic but clean. We had our dinners during our 3 nights stay. Food qualities & taste are very very good. We highly recommend guests stay here to order dinners too.
Beds are not comfortable.
The Service was great, so was the breakfast. We didn't have dinner, but it smelled delicious. We like to come back and recommended this place to friends.
Kindness of the owner and staff. Very available to bring us around with own car Nice recommendations of sites and restaurants to visit
location,good breakfast, friendly owner
Friendly Staff, Food is very good, and Private onsen is really great.
Very nice to got our luggage pickup from the train station. Staff can speak English very well. There're 3 onsens to relax in. Lovely breakfast and also got a lift to the train station. Perfect!
No wifi reaching to our room. Difficult to get anything to eat if you haven't book with dinner.
It's very well located in between Lake Chuzenji and Niko main Shrines, only few minutes by car in each direction, and you can park your car in their own parking. They have three different private Onsen and you can use them for free. Staff very friendly and speak good English
WiFi couldn’t be reached in the room you need to go to the corridor or on the living room
Dinner and breakfast very delicious. Free onsen is superior.
A bit far from city center and don't have nearly convenient store.
the breakfast and dinner were amazing; the private Japanese baths were lovely and relaxing; the owner was friendly and even dropped me off at the train station after I had checked out; the location was good
Bus almost outside door. Delicious breakfasts. Friendly owner. Japanese hot spa, a must do, the one outside in the garden room.easy walk to temples
Very little in the choice of eating out in Nikko
Outside of the center in a nice nighberhood,15 minutes walk from the main shrines - a wonderful small hotel. We called Kono, the owner, an hour before arrival. He came to pick us up from the train station. He took our luggage to the hotel & dropped us off at the center, not before he provided us with a map & explanations. Kono's English is fair & much better than any Hotel staff we met in Jappan. The hotel is made mainly from wood which create a relaxing atmosphere. There are few private onsens. Fair size room. Breakfast is good.
Most resturants & Cafe near by are closed early afternoon. We had to sit on the corridor in order to get wifi.
Really friendly staff
Possibility to use 3 private Jacuzzi/typical Japanese bath with hot water! great for relaxing at the end of the day!
Location. Far from the Nikko village and not much public transport. More suitable for couples or family than solo traveler.
It is a nice typical Japanese hotel. The staff is amazing. We were in Nikko for a very short time and the owner of the hotel was very helpful. Thanks to him we were able to get to the temples before they closed.
A nice room a very friendly host, great private bath Japanese style (recommended!!!!)
Located on the main road, quite busy with cars and polution
We went to Nikko on the spur of the moment and did not have much time to research. The villa looked good so we hoped for the best and were not disappointed. Rooms are not large but are adequate, staff are lovely, spas are great, it is very clean and quiet and price was good. We would definitely stay there again if in Nikko.
Can't really think of anything worth complaining about.
Extraordinary service. The owner could not have been more helpful with advice (speaks enough English) and he even drove us into Nikko for Dinner. Hotel and rooms very clean. Magnificent breakfast - the Onsens are great- especially the natural stone one.
I like their onsen. There are 3 private onsens available and it is big enough for my family. Owner is very kind and welcome. Location of villa is comfortable.
Toilet in the room is lower average. Food has to reserve in advance.
Very comfortable, homely hotel. Very friendly staff.
Hotel is close to main sights, but relatively far from restaurants which are all in the town's centre.
The place is run by a very sweet family who went out of their way when they could to help us (e.g. dropping us to a restaurant for dinner and to the bus stop). The breakfast was divine, as good as all the other reviwers mentioned. The japanese onsen was amazing. As we stayed during off season we had it to ourself most of the time, a perfect ending to a long hot summer's day.
Nothing. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friend's and family
Small hotel with an owner who is extremely friendly and helpful. Picked us up from the railway station on arrival and brought us back again when we left. Excellent breakfast, that was different both days we stayed at the hotel. Bus stop very close to. If the owner asks whether you would like to have dinner at his daughter's vegan restaurant your answer should be: yes, even if you like fish or meat. We (non-vegetarians) had an excellent meal.
We were completely happy...
Friendly staff, huge breakfast, private spa-like bath!
Could've used an extra pillow.
Baths - 3 ofuro places - お風呂 was a massive plus after one day of hiking. Really rested well. Nice dining area, view on the mountains - very relaxing.
Maybe is not modern enough for younger people. But if you just want to rest in piece it`s a great place.
