The only aspect that may be tricky for some travelers is that it is a fair walk from Nikko central (15-20 minutes). However, there are several buses that travel right next to the hotel several times a day, and as I mentioned before the owner was very kind in offering to drive us down to the center of town several times. For us, the location was totally fine, but it may be farther than some would like.
Super affordable price for a wonderful little hotel. Everything about this place was great, from the amazing Japanese baths, to the awesome breakfast (highly recommended), to free coffee/tea and beautiful mountain views from the rooms. The star of our stay, though, was the owner. He went above and beyond to drive my friends and I home from dinner two nights in a row, as well as to drop us off at the train station. He took extra time to show us how to use the facilities when we checked in, provided amazing restaurant recommendations, and went out of his way to provide maps for our hiking excursion. He really made our stay outstanding! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
