Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu    

Good location. Close to metro. Superior room was a good size for Tokyo standards. Very clean.

Central location. It is a value for money but only because of the low price, not for any other reason. The facilities are average.

I booked a single room having looked at the pictures on the internet and thinking I was staying at a 4 star hotel. But I was disappointed. When I saw my room for the first time, I thought I had booked into a small motorhome. It was so small that I could not open my two suitcases. I requested to change to a double room for which they charged me extra (understandable). It was better (but the quality was average). The next surprise came at breakfast time when I was told that the "breakfast coupon" was only free for the "small breakfast" and that I would have to pay another 1500 Yen for the "normal breakfast". I did not like this at all and I did not expect to be tricked in Japan. No other hotel (and I have stayed at hundreds) had ever played this game of offering breakfast in the price and then charging extra for it ! On the positive side , the big breakfast buffet was very good. I just didn't like that the surprises. Lumpy pillows and hard mattresses.

The location is unbeatable if you are looking to get around town in Tokyo. The train station is directly across the street. The room was clean and very cute. There is also a 7 eleven convenience store downstairs for water or snacks and there is a coffee shop down stairs for a cup of morning brew.

Bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the room was warm and the air conditioner did not work, and we had to sleep with the windows open. We called the front desk and were told since the majority of other visitors were still using the heaters in their room the air conditioner does not work since they have a central system.

Excellent location immediately opposite Underground station and with coach transfer to airport direct from hotel Rooms larger than many in Tokyo and well appointed Staff very helpful Local cafes and patisseries for breakfast-convenience store on site

You might have to request different pillows as the ones provided in the room are more to Japanese than Western taste

The staff was very helpfull and kind. We chose this hotel in the list of Booking.com because it was the first time we were going to visit Japan and the localization seemed to be easy for us to go around and the Limousine bus could leave us at the hotel. Really, we couldn't have chosen a better hotel! I'll will recomend to all my friends and relatives! We stayed there only 6 days and are dreaming about visiting Japan again and Akasaka Excell Hotel Tokyu will be our choice in Tokyo!

Booking was confirmed for a triple room, 3rd person to sleep on a sofa bed. Staff would not give a sofa bed so I had to share a hard, single bed with one of my teenagers for the 4 nights we were there.

Staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was great!

it is convenient to shopping and take the Train.

it is very difficulties to take the train with the buggages becasue of no elevator. we have had booking the twince room with sofa bad but we just sent them the adult name. Finally, when we arrived at hotel,they just gave us the twince room because of one adult name in the booking form. we need to pay more for the sofa bad. I think it is unfaire and ingorance. If one person stay at hotel. it doesn't need booking beds for three persons. It is a bad experience for our family.

Best located hotel.

At time of booking (2+months before stay), I requested non-smoking room. I called the hotel the night before my arrival but was told that non- smoking rooms were not available. I expressed my disappointment and said they could have told me by email or so. At the end, they were able to give me a non-smoking room (though on the lowest floor).

10 minute breakfast was a total farce and really not worth getting.

Poor facilities for a city hotel. No hint of quality - a functional business hotel only.

Efforts to conserve, option not to have bed sheets changed daily. Also, liked having tooth brush and tooth paste and shaver, which made it easier since I typically forget to bring at least one. Internet access was great.

Nothing was bad. Rooms could have been a little bigger but that is typical and not an issue.

The coffee machine in the room the service very close to the akasaka mistuke station, which is well conneceted to the metro system the hotel restaurant for the traditional breakfast

The district is a litlle bit quite at night compare to shinjuku or shibuya

The staff is really nice and helpful, rooms very clean, great facilities and location.

-1st visit, old crushed biscuit on floor near bed (2nd visit, had been vacuumed well) -small rooms (but this is standard for Tokyo)

The room is not as "roomy" as the pictures on the web. Would have been great to have a small gym there.

No airconditioning in winter, room was hot with the windows closed as we could only use the heating mode First room was facing the back and we couldn't open the window. Very stuffy and so we asked for a change to the front rooms
