Score from 1507 reviews Very good
Very close to the station
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast, good for my vegetarian parents. It was raining and we get to borrow umbrella from the hotel. Very clean hotel.
The bed is slightly small for 2 persons to sleep.
Spacious & very clean hotel, all facilities look newly set up, staff is excellent, very polite & can speak English, it is a little bit far away from Kyoto station but still consider in good location (just 10 mins walk from the Kyoto station), very competitive hotel rate. Computer & printing machine are available at lobby for public use, the staff is very helpful to answer my question about the sightseeing place but you can also collect those information from the library at lobby. Free wifi in all area & good connection even in the room. We did not try the breakfast as price is a bit costly. We love this hotel & will stay again definitely on my next travel in Kyoto.
The proximity to Kyoto Station (subway, buses, JR lines, Shinkansen) made this the ideal base from which to explore Kyoto and surrounding cities. The hotel is incredibly clean and I had a smooth stay. The hot baths are a nice facility. The rooms are quiet at night and the beds comfortable. The staff were also very helpful in providing directions and advice.
The hotel is about a ten minute walk from Kyoto Station, through a rather dull part of town. The standard double rooms are quite compact, but they are clean and well laid out with all necessary amenities.
Loved this hotel. The bath house was really nice. Would definitely go back.
- Service (formidable and with excellent English proficiency) and cleanness - Location - very near Kyoto station with good access to eateries and public transport, although the surroundings of the hotel aren't much interesting - Rooms is relatively spacious for Japanese standards
Only smoking rooms available, although the hotel staff made commendable effort to remove the smoke
At first we found it a bit difficult to find the hotel so we called taxi from the station but found later the short walkway from the hotel so, it is not easy at first for the tourist who visits kyoto for the first time. Location is good as it is near the main Kyoto station and bus station. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful with the map and everything. We like the spacious room which is bigger than japanese standard with the modern design . The bed is comfort and there are Onsen for free using.
The bathroom is a bit small . One more thing is Lawson convenient store is located on another side of the road and the crossroad is far . So we didnt cross to buy what we wanted but decided to buy from the train station .
This hotel is a gem. it has all a traveler needs and more: public bath to rest after all day of sightseeing open all evening till 2 am..library to take a book...good restaurant.
Located 10 min walk from kyoto station. Ideal if you planning on day trips outside of kyoto.
not all staff were able to communicate effectively in english. The area doesnt have a lot of choices for restaurants or cafes. breakfast lackwd more western options.
The stay was really comfortable, 5 min walking from main station. We will go back for the last day of our trip.
Small room, we couldn't keep the suitcases opened in the room.
location not far from the main Kyoto train station which is good base to explore other areas like Kobe, Osaka, Nara.
Stay for 5 nites, breakfast seems to be the of the same menu every single day.
Hotel is at the back of Kyoto train station, very convenient to walk to the station and catch trains or buses. Staffs are friendly, and helpful, English proficient.
For first time visitors, it is quiet confusing to get to the hotel by walking, eventhough it's only a 7 min walk. recommend to take a taxi with your luggages.
comfortable bed and clean equip room. Breakfast is a plus!
Far distance to walk to Osaka train station, especially cold weather is challenge.
Near station Temples Museum and shops restaurants.
Window had frosted glass made room dark and no view. That may not be in all rooms.
Good location, do need to walk a distance from Kyoto station. Good value of breakfast, mainly Japanese style, a very good variety ! Love option of public bath facility, a nice hot bath after a day of touring. Reception, the ladies are very helpful in English, to guide you all sightseeing locations and make restaurant reservations. Free wifi is good.
Public bath room is great!
The room is clean . House keeper who has done a good job.
The room is a bit too small.
This hotel is great for English speaking guests. The decorum is new, modern and all facilities are very nice. The 'onsen-like' bath is a great way to end the day. Good location within walking distance of Kyoto train station. Japanese restaurant recommendation was excellent.
Surrounding environment is commercial.
Good service and good value for money
I was stayed in a triple room and the room is spacious. Generally very clean. Hotel service is good. Some front desk staffs speak English. There is a convenience store just across the road. There is a Japanese bath on 2/F with washing machine, clothes dryer and micro wave oven.
Wifi connection in my room is not good. There is LAN connection so better to bring your own router. Hotel is 5 min walking distance from Kyoto Station Hachijoguchi. However the main bus station is located in Kyoto Station Karasuma-guchi. Since Kyoto station is huge, you will need an extra of 5 min from Hachijoguchi to Karasuma-guchi. So the hotel acutally is not close to bus station (need to walk for 10 min).
It's a 10 minute walk to the kyoto station and every taxi we rode knew it. That makes it perfect for people who are not too savvy in taking public transportation. It's location near the main transportation hub also means that taking a day trip to nearby places such as Nara or Osaka is very convenient. The price is actually quite good considering the larger room sizes and modern facilities. They also have a public bath on the 2nd floor for those wanting to try it but too intimidated by the baths in local communities.
The breakfast is good. The staff is very helpful.
Considering we came at an extremely busy season, staying at this brand new place was a blessing. We very much enjoyed the spacious lobby.
The staff. To be honest, we were very disappointed especially at such a country where service deeply roots in everyone's soul. When we got off the train and arrived the hotel at noon, we asked if there's room that was checked out early and ready for us to check in. The receptionist told us it cost 1000 JPY per hour per person for early check in. We were astonished since we've experienced lots of early checkin circumstances and every single of them was a thoughtful nice surprise except this time. And at the checkout we were shocked again. We handed over our key to the receptionist and then asked him to call a local restaurant to cancel an appointment that we can't make. The receptionist said since we checked out already, he's not longer at our service! :( Of course we understand policy is policy. But we really cannot imagine such harsh police comes from a highly rated 4-star hotel in Japan.
1. The attitude of workers in the hotel. 2. Wifi connection speed. 3. The computer with big screen in the lobby. 4. The English of the workers make life even easier.
1. The security code for the public beth doesn't work.
resting lobby is comfortable and calm
have to walk 10 minutes to kyoto station to transfer to spots
