No wifi in the room. Signal may be too weak
The staff The location The shuttle bus to Kyoto station was really frequent The rooms were real spacious (by Japanese standards)
The breakfast was really expensive
I really liked that the whole staff could speak very good english. And they were very helpful with everything. We needed an adresse in Osaka, and they spent 20 min helping us to find directions. Very good price compared to the rest of Japan! They have free shuttle to the train station!
View of waterfall
Smell of room and some staff unfriendly
The cook cooked a good curry. Computer available for guests.
The room had not been refurbished for a long time and smelled distinctly unpleasant. The smell came from a small sofa. The bed was hard and sagged. There were not enough tables in the breakfast room so we had to hurry through our breakfast to get the bus. Breakfast was expensive.
Friendly staff Great buffet breakfast Range of restaurants Location opposite castle Shuttle bus to and from station
Showers in room - hard to operate and waste water
Free shuttle bus from Kyoto station. Great location across the road from Nijo Castle.
+Excellent Location close to the castle and a few other interesting places along with close to subway +Excellent price for what you get
-Extra accommodations were pretty over the top expensive (swimming pool 10 dollars for use as an example) -Sadly no nearby place to do laundry besides hotel service, and pretty pricy for it.
Great staff, often wearing kimono. Very convenient for the castle. About 3 minutes walk to the subway (then another 3 to the platform).
Old, dated rooms and decor. Booked 'double or twin' but couldn't get a double room for the entire stay. It's a quiet area but only a few stops on the subway to the more tourist orientated parts of Kyoto.
Rooms are clean & renovated with plenty of amenities. Large size by Japanese standards. Free parking on site is definitely helpful although the car park is slightly confusing to use. Shuttle service very useful.
The hotel is placed just next to Nijo castle and the underground station Room was big and comfortable Japanese-style breakfast was great Shuttle bus from train station is very convenient
Bathroom was really poor, looked like it was years since last renovation Restaurants in the hotel are very expensive, better go to the city (around Gion corner) Our room wasn't ready at the check-in time It wasn't good value for money in my opinion
location, helpful staff, size and ambiance
The location is good, about 5 minutes walk to the bus stop. The hotel shuttle leaves about every 15 minutes to the train station. The staff is friendly and helped me to decide on a sightseeing route for the day.
The room was not clean. Dust on several surfaces. The room seemed very old, the bathroom even worse. It is not easy to find the shuttle bus when you arrive at the train station unless you have exact directions - go to McDonald's !
Everything was well done
Location, shuttle bus service, cleanliness, helpful staff
Room furniture and carpet look a little "tired" and soon need to be replaced
great place with perfect location for our plans (Nijo Castle across the street), there is a shuttle bus service free of charge between the hotel and the main station Kyoto!
at check out we had issues with one credit card, but the reception staff were not able or did not know how to connect a call to Europe, which left a not so great last impression
Too many twin rooms. Cannot get queen or King bed for 4 nights stay.
- permanent shuttle to train station - many restaurants
- no safe in room, but OK with lobby desk - expensive restaurants and mostly international / not enough Japanese possibilities with various pricing
- Location is great for the Castle - There is everything you need in the hotel (albeit quite expensive) - Free shuttle to and from the Kyoto train station
- Not many eating places or bars in the area - The Shuttle stops a bit early (7pm something) - Too many English speaking personel, not a very Japanese experience
all service / services we were very happy with.
we were happy with everything but if I was forced to pick something it would be the lack of availability of the shuttle buss late evenings from Kyoto centre. perhaps one late shuttle at about 11:45 from Kyoto station to the hotel would be very popular.
We had a special deal and the value was very high. Really enjoyed this place
Very poor English skills from the staff. No flexibility in getting us served at dinner (we arrived at 9:05pm, restaurants closing at 9:30, they refuse to let us in).
The free shuttle bus and the staff were very nice.
The lights are controlled by the key card and you cannot manually controll all the lights. Going to the restroom at night was difficult. There was a festival there that we wanted to see the lighting from the roof too. We were denied access to it just to look at it and was never told we needed a reservation until the time of the festival. We were not happy.
Rooms were spacious , clean , staff very helpful and friendly. The bar downstairs was amazing , bit expensive.
It's far from the center , you need to know the bus system . There was no safe in the room , I believe they had one downstairs , who will carry thier stuff up and down. We went in August , where it was very hot and the AC was not that good.
