good size rooms helpful staff
The bed was awesome!
Far from city center. 2nights not enough. Good place for those who would like to stay longer
The shuttle bus to Kyoto Station. The 1 pm check in time. The kimono staff & beautiful lobby.
Breakfast choices were good but too expensive at 3000Y even with 500 Y coupon.
The hotel was lovely and clean and in a beautiful setting. The staff were exceptionally helpful when i fell ill
Little far out from Kyoto city but easily walkable/ using the metro
Staff is polite
Old and ran down hotel, too expensive for the state of the hotel. Booked a double smoking room four months before arrival and got a twin non smoking on arrival. When I explained this to the staff on arrival i was told "sorry no more double smoking available" and it's only after threatening that I would speak to a manager that I finally got was I needed!!!!:(
The hotel is really easy to reach. The rooms are nice and well equipped. It's a better middle class hotel with complementary WIFI.
Wonderful breakfast. Convenient shuttle to the Station.
Very tired hotel - rooms, lobby and restaurants need a complete refit. Location a bit isolated.
A good old-fashioned hotel with huge lobby, piano bar, thick carpets. The rooms are huge and it makes for quite a nice change after the standard Tokyo-sized hotel rooms. The staff were incredibly helpful when we had to change our bookings for Osaka and called the hotel themselves. Nice shuttle service to Kyoto's train station every 15 minutes and bicycle parking spaces in case you decided to rent one during your visit. Right next to Kyoto's Nijo castle.
The hotel is a bit far from Kyoto's main attractions if you feel like walking.
Friendly staff willing to help.
No wifi in the room. Signal may be too weak
The staff The location The shuttle bus to Kyoto station was really frequent The rooms were real spacious (by Japanese standards)
The breakfast was really expensive
I really liked that the whole staff could speak very good english. And they were very helpful with everything. We needed an adresse in Osaka, and they spent 20 min helping us to find directions. Very good price compared to the rest of Japan! They have free shuttle to the train station!
View of waterfall
Smell of room and some staff unfriendly
The cook cooked a good curry. Computer available for guests.
The room had not been refurbished for a long time and smelled distinctly unpleasant. The smell came from a small sofa. The bed was hard and sagged. There were not enough tables in the breakfast room so we had to hurry through our breakfast to get the bus. Breakfast was expensive.
Friendly staff Great buffet breakfast Range of restaurants Location opposite castle Shuttle bus to and from station
Showers in room - hard to operate and waste water
Free shuttle bus from Kyoto station. Great location across the road from Nijo Castle.
+Excellent Location close to the castle and a few other interesting places along with close to subway +Excellent price for what you get
-Extra accommodations were pretty over the top expensive (swimming pool 10 dollars for use as an example) -Sadly no nearby place to do laundry besides hotel service, and pretty pricy for it.
Great staff, often wearing kimono. Very convenient for the castle. About 3 minutes walk to the subway (then another 3 to the platform).
Old, dated rooms and decor. Booked 'double or twin' but couldn't get a double room for the entire stay. It's a quiet area but only a few stops on the subway to the more tourist orientated parts of Kyoto.
Rooms are clean & renovated with plenty of amenities. Large size by Japanese standards. Free parking on site is definitely helpful although the car park is slightly confusing to use. Shuttle service very useful.
The hotel is placed just next to Nijo castle and the underground station Room was big and comfortable Japanese-style breakfast was great Shuttle bus from train station is very convenient
Bathroom was really poor, looked like it was years since last renovation Restaurants in the hotel are very expensive, better go to the city (around Gion corner) Our room wasn't ready at the check-in time It wasn't good value for money in my opinion
location, helpful staff, size and ambiance
The location is good, about 5 minutes walk to the bus stop. The hotel shuttle leaves about every 15 minutes to the train station. The staff is friendly and helped me to decide on a sightseeing route for the day.
The room was not clean. Dust on several surfaces. The room seemed very old, the bathroom even worse. It is not easy to find the shuttle bus when you arrive at the train station unless you have exact directions - go to McDonald's !
Everything was well done
