Best Western Hotel Takayama  

Nice Location, very close to Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Terminal

Should have put bigger signboard on the side of the road because town is a bit dark at night time

Good value for money. Good breakfast too.

During our stay our room was (to) hot because the airconditioning was not in function. This might be a problem for the time of the year. With the window open we managed to get some fresh air.

Free spa and sauna that I hadn't known when I booked made me surprise. Beds are very comfortable. Tripple room space and bed are enough for 2 adults and 2 children. If I come to Takayama again, my family agrees to stay here.

Most staff were friendly and effective, one of them, Suzuki, was particularly helpful. Most of them could communicate sufficiently in English. There were good restaurants nearby. Conveniently located, close to the railway and bus stations.

The price was on the high side, almost as expensive as a Tokyo city hotel.

The location near the train station and the city center was great. The trip to Shingowa the hotel advertised was great! The rooms were lovely and beds huge!

Pleasant hotel within easy walking distance of the train station (1 minute). Since Takayama is such a small town, every sight is within walking distance of the hotel. Buffet breakfast was included which was simple but tasty. Rooms were clean with most creature comforts. Would recommend but a little pricey.

Prices in restaurant are expensive. Pillows were tiny - needed to ask for 2 more

I could not control room temperature. I just about boiled in my own sweat and did not get one wink of sleep. I was ignored when I went to use the Bijoux cafe restaurant for lunch and then they were serving only a private party for dinner.

Very good location and just 5 minutes from the JR station. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is good. very clean interior.

Breakfast closes at 9.30 am. Choices is acceptable but tends to run out especially their bun which is very good indeed! For western travelers, only BBC news channel available.

Location is great. Breakfast spread is awesome. We had a great stay and will stay again if we return to Takayama.. Great value and excellent hotel for the price paid.

The location. This hotel is within walking distance to the train/bus station. There are cafes, noodle shops and a family mart closed by. One can also walk easily to the old town .

The breakfast is a bit pedistrian.

Was a fantastic hotel - staff were very friendly and spoke great English. Very close to the station. One small block from the station. Clod to everything. Great western and Japanese style breakfast.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. They had both Japanese and Western styles. It was, as matter of fact, the best breakfast we had in this whole trip (Takayama, Shirakawago, and Kanazawa). I'm Japanese and my husband is Canadian. We both agreed this hotel's food was our most favorite. The room was very comfortable and the location was very convenient. We felt our money was well spent. Highly recommended!

Nice, comfortable, western-style hotel, very new, very close to the train station. Very nice breakfast.

Wi-fi reception was poor - not just in the room but in all areas of the hotel.

It's near the JR station. It's convenient.

The hotel staff suck. Not helpful , rigid , inflexible and poor service. they don't even know simple information on places of interest nearby. Know even less than us who are tourist. Simple info like onsen nearby they got it wrong . Won't go extra mile to make our stay comfortable . Can't speak even simple English. Wont stay in Best Western anymore. Will tell frens not to stay too. Vvv lousy service. Great disappointment it's Best Western.

It was hot during my stay and window was very difficult to operate. Air conditioning ineffective and staff admitted it "always blows hot"

Very friendly staff and an excellent buffet breakfast included in the price of the room. Close to train station. Rooms were smallish but very well appointed.

Certainly not the fault of the staff but the price of the room had increased from what I booked on-line. I figure I will settle with Best Western on this end.
