the hotel was well located and within easy walking distance to train station. staff was very helpful and spoke excellent english. room was comfy, clean and quiet.
The most professional staff, have a lot great advice regarding kyoto.
Sink is in the hallway and laundry is outside.
I stayed here for two nights, and I had a great experience! The location is great, since I was lugging around a lot of baggage (walking distance to subway). The staff were super helpful and friendly, and I love how there was a booklet that gave you suggestions and directions to places in Kyoto. The facilities were clean, and the capsule was comfy and more spacious than I imagined.
There's nothing to complain about, except maybe I wish the toilet facilities were a little more spacious, but not a huge dislike.
The hotel provided information on the recommended place to go in Kyoto.
Small Room but the space is well used - high class shower! Amazing staff, speaks English
* very helpful staff * unique "spaceship like" bathroom and bed/compartment setup
Fantastic staff gave an orientation and recommendations on tourist sites, eating etc.
Limited storage space for capsules
I mainly liked the location and the service given for the staff. The facilities are good and comfy. Even though they have some ap for wifi in different places in the hotel, the only thing that I could complaint would be the bad internet signal in my capsule.
The internet it's not that good in the capsules
Everything, it would be the perfect place for those visiting Kyoto for the first time, so much information at Capsule Ryokan and from the staff. Good location too. Room small but great shower and facilities. Would 100% recommend!
The staff were the best. Super friendly and helpful. Their english was perfect. Also the fact that you can leave your luggage there from 9am until 10pm. Such an important feature. The location was brilliant. 10 minutes to the station, but still very quiet at night. Could not beat this! The shower was bliss. So many functions and very classy. The heating was great, the room had enough space and there were many power points.
The bed wasn't comfortable but that was the same for all of japan. Also it was difficult to sleep close to the boyfriend because of the sleeping arrangements (two singles together, not one double/queen size) But aside from that, it was perfect.
Not far from the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful (and spoke English well!), explained everything in detail, gave a good map and some very good advice on where to eat in the neighbourhood. The room was not big, but the bed was very comfortable, and the shower very modern. Wifi was good. Teapot and hairdryer in the room, some other facilities (like a toothbrush) available to take for free or to lend. Small kitchen with a fridge downstairs. We were very happy with our stay and definitely recommend this place.
Shower was impressive - space age even! Toilet seat automatically popping up when you open the toilet door was amusing. :) Not far from the train station and bus stops.
Maybe a bit too small.. I know that is the point of a capsule to be compact but the double room could do with an extra metre to move around in...
location! Its a 15 mins talk to Kyoto station so if you are traveling light, its a nice stroll, especially if you need to take the shinkasen. The staff are so nice, there are books available to consult related which helped us a lot to plan our trip in Kyoto. I would definitely come back to stay here for this reason, they are very knowledgeable.
While the bed was just comfortable, its was the street noise and the noise of the cars that gets slightly annoying. The noise die down after rush hour though.
Excellent staff, great information about everything and the shower cubicle was great.
an amazing capsule hotel in central Kyoto. five minutes from Kyoto station. especially if you're a solo traveler who doesn't mind not having a private room, this is the spot for you. and the capsules do offer much more privacy than dorm beds...
A good deal to stay close to Kyoto station. Shower is excellent. The room is small, but this is expected in a "capsule" ryokan. The owner was very helpful and his book of local restaurants and activities was helpful.
Everything about it was excellent. The staff was personable, friendly, genuine, knowledgable, sincere and smart! Very clean and the location is great! Special mention: robot toilet! I suggest get the private room.
It's a bit small for other countries' standards but quite normal for Japan. I didn't get bothered one bit.
Proximity to JR Kyoto station. EXCELLENT staff. Very knowledgeable and able to offer excellent advice. Great hotel in a great location!
Shower in the bedroom. Created a damp environment as no ventilation and we were unable to open windows.
I may have been lucky where the night I stayed it was very quiet, everybody behaved well. Bathroom is impeccable, toilets are very clean. A good sized locker inside the room for your luggage. I liked also the adjustable light inside the capsule. The staff has all the time to explain to you directions to attractions. When you arrive there is a folder with all sightseeing suggestions, with miscellaneous helpful details about how and when to go. Out of my 8 nights in Japan this might have been the best sleep I had. This is a budget place that doesn't feel like one.
There was a mix-up with a kaiseki restaurant reservation with which I asked the help of the ryokan staff- it wasn't clear where the communication break down between the restaurant and the ryokan but luckily I was received by the restaurant anyway without a reservation.
Friendly helpful staff. Awesome shower. Good location.
Location, information available provided by staff (booklet), convenience
Room a little damp
Staff were really helpful, the capsules are well equipped and good facilities
- the hotel is very close to the station. - the staff provided us very nice travelling information and speek very good English. - there are several bus stops nearby, we bought the bus day pass, which is very convenient. Only the bus stop is not very clear to notice, we missed them several times. - there are some small supermarkets in the neighbourhood. - The gust can try the Japanese kimono for free, which is very nice experience. - There is one cheap restaurant nearby, we found it on the last day of our stay. It's a good place to have (Japanese style) breakfirst.
perfect stuff near Kyoto station clean
very simple room
I stayed one night in one of the rooms. The Ryokan was easy to find, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was plenty big enough, the shower was very impressive. The location is good for access to the railway station although I did not explore the local area. In summary I found Ryokan to be exactly what I expected and great value for money.
