Excellent,
Score from 161 reviews
“ The hotel location is excellent, just a 5 minute walk to the train station. The hotel staff were excellent, very helpful, and spoke English. They were very accomodating. The hotel and the room were very clean and well maintained. The rooms are compact (probably about the same size as most Japanese hotels in this price range) but comfortable. ”

Clean good sized rooms, friendly atmosphere. Quality furnishings and friendly staff. Staff can speak English.Good facilities and convenient location. Close to the train station. Although automatic/machine based checkout was efficient, it lacked a personal interaction/touch. Checking out by machine made us feel like a little like cattle rather than customers. I enjoy interacting with staff and a personal touch is always a bonus, but missed this at this hotel.

Acceptable for a one night stay no more. Rather a long walk to JR station in inclement weather. Asked for a room change but staff unable to comply since they claimed to be full which they were not. Its part of the Diawa chain catering mainly to business travelers. Emphasis is on automated guest throughput not service.

The hotel is within walking distance from Kyoto Station, and the room clean and tidy. Good variety of food for breakfast, and friendly restaurant staff. Front desk staff not so courteous -- actually the young ones are quite helpful, but one particular lady (an older one) waved and called at me to check in as if I was a shame to their establishment and so they needed to get me out of the lobby asap.

Very favorable location - few minutes from Kyoto railway station and main bus terminal. A lot of places around to have a meal. Staff very kind and helpful. All facilities in the room in good conditions. Room could be bigger but for the location and the price it is a shame to complain.

Nice room, clean, nice staff. There was nothing interesting to see in the surrounding area, and it was just close enough to the train station that cab drivers get annoyed at being asked to make such a short trip but not close enough that walking there with heavy suitcases is anything but exhausting.

Very clean, brand new, good comfortable beds and nice bathrooms If you're western, give the breakfast a wide berth, it's truly awful. The japanese breakfast is average at best and the western offering is disgracefully bad.

Excellent location within easy reach of the train station, making it easy excursions to nearby towns. Rooms are small, but immaculate and very well soundproofed. Modern hotel newly built. Treatment very impersonal, but correct. No offer shuttle service to the train station. You pay in advance both the room, as any extra service for breakfast, and it is only Japanese style. No laundry service available.

For the price, the facilities were satisfactory. Complete set of toiletries, top notch cleanliness. Modern and spacious bathroom for Japan. The fridge and water boiler as well as complementary tea was handy. The location is near the station, easy to find and multiple convenience stores are in its vicinity. Borderline English speaking receptionists(some of them). Complimentary coffee drip packages were provided at check in but it would be great if that was given in-room and replenished daily. My wife is a coffee drinker and was sad that we only received them once (we stayed 2 nights).

The great thing about this hotel is that they actually paid attention to our room requirements/requests, and asked if our assigned rooms were satisfactory to our needs. The staff at the reception were simply fantastic, and the rooms were spacious, well-appointed, clean and very comfortable. And it's quite conveniently located, only a short 10-15 mins walk to Kyoto JR station.

Hotel staffs are nice and very helpful on transportation and restaurant booking. Good location, close to Kyoto station and bus stop with several CVS nearby. Room condition is almost like brand new. Lady guests will receive surprising supplements. Not many stores and restaurants around the hotel other than CVS.

The hotel location is excellent, just a 5 minute walk to the train station. The hotel staff were excellent, very helpful, and spoke English. They were very accomodating. The hotel and the room were very clean and well maintained. The rooms are compact (probably about the same size as most Japanese hotels in this price range) but comfortable. We had a double room, and the bed was larger than we expected - probably comparable to a queen size bed in the USA. There were vending machines right down the hall from our room, with drinks (including beer), a small microwave, and an ice machine - all worked just fine. Nothing we disliked.
