The best breakfast buffet ever with lots of great food (including sashimi, fresh waffles, juices and many yummuy Japanese dishes) Great onsen with outdoor area on the rooftop, one hot inside tub, a cold inside tub, a sauna and exclusive shampoo and cosmetics etc. (Pola, Shiseido Tsubaki). There is also a self-service laundry inside / next to the onsen. Washing is free, drying costs 100 Yen per 20mins or so. Manga reading area. Free (simple) Ramen at night in the restaurant. Via the smart TV you can check how crowded the facilities are (onsen, restaurant,...)
The shower in the room is very small but we didn't use it but washed in the onsen instead.
Very comfortable room, compact but well designed. The on site onsen was very relaxing and quite a bonus. Great choices for breakfast with local specialties. Helpful staff. Free washing machine plus coin in slot driers. About 15 mins walk from station along tram route. Great restaurants in the vicinity.
Great location. Loved the roof top onsen
Facilities appears rather new
Great location, onsen, various local food for breakfast
Always keep the good quality as usual.
Small room and bed.
i stayed in three dormy inn's during this trip and this was by far the best. it was in the standard that i am used to when i stay at dormy inn. the staff, the room and bathroom, the ofuro and rotenburo, the food were all good. even the driver of the shuttle bus was very caring
Very clean and spacious rooms. The onsen on the roof was a definite plus. Overall very happy with the hotel facilities
Awesome spa on the top floor with outside pool. Very clean hotel with good service and delicious breakfast buffet.
Rich breakfast, kind stuff, nice onsen, Sakurajima view from the room
The onsen was great. The facilities are clean. When we were there, it was raining hard, the free loaner umbrella came in handy
Rotemburo on the rooftop was unbelievable for a business hotel in the center of a city. The property was very clean.
Rooms were a little bit dark and depressing, but totally fine for a good night sleep. Don't spend too much time in there and this is not an issue.
The best point of the Dormy Inn is of course its top floor onsen, but the location is also top-notch - 15 min walk from the port and 10 min from the main station. It's on the main shopping street, too. I don't appreciate ramen noodles, especially as an evening meal, but giving them out for free is really a nice touch, and the personnel is kind and helpful as can be expected. The rooms are good, no complaints at all, and the price is fairly reasonable though you can do better in Kagoshima (but not with an onsen!)
I enjoyed my stay at Dormy Inn Kagoshima very much. The location is so convenient, only a few minutes walk from a major bus stop, also walking distance to the pier where we need to catch a ferry after we check out the next time. The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. The best of all, is the breakfast buffet! It has everything! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.
Loved it! The staff were professional and friendly, the building/room was new and gorgeously designed for comfort and use, and the icing on the cake was the fabulous rooftop onsen and free late night ramen. We wish we could have stayed longer- Thank you, Dormy Inn!
A lot of restaurants at opposite the alley
Everything suberrashi! Nice room with some space, super comfy bed, breakfast with everything from soup, japanese small things with local fish dishes, western style... and the onsen on the 13th floor was so relaxing after a windy and cold day at aso-san.
Excellent value for money! The traditional bath open air on the roof is an excellent suprise. Free noodles in the evening, small but comfortable room, kind staff, good location next to the main shopping area.
The room could be bigger and the view better, but for such a price, I'm too demanding.
Near the centre of town, clean tidy small rooms. Excellent robotic toilet, amazing onsen and wonderful breakfast. Very efficient staff and late departure of 11am a real bonus.
No difficulties at all.
great onsen - one of the best city hotel onsens I've experienced
Handy to the trolley bus stops and very accessible by public transport from the JR Kagoshima Station. Decor most attractive throughout hotel. Onsen good.
Prefer a double bed with access on both sides instead of a double bed in the corner of a room. Advertised breakfast hours difficult for people who have been travelling a lot but later entry than advertised was permitted. Breakfast excellent.
With a great breakfast, soup at night and sauna & onsen for free: Dormy Inn seems to be booked out easily, so you can be happy, if you get a room in a Dormy Inn anywhere in Japan. And you get a new "Hotel-Schlafanzug" sleeping suit every day. Tramstation nearby.
Breakfast is good
Bathroom is too small
1.hotspring pablic bath is the most attractive one. 2 free service of noodle is anotther enjoyment.
1.room charge for twin bed is preferable at more chaeper level as double bed is not so confortable even for couple.
