Facilities provided were excellent. Great location, very near the Higashiyama station and many shrines and temples were within walking distance. Free flow of coffee and use of massage chairs were great.
Clean room. Unlimited free drink in the common room and free washer.
Front desk staff was very helpful
Location very central and close to shrine and restaurants, basic but very adequate and comfortable bedroom, good bed, nice verandah with view, good (tiny) bathroom with good shower, efficient heating (a/c), heated toilet seat (if this matters to you), very friendly staff, wireless internet,
Fridge too noisy to use at night. No chair with back to it, but useable wooden stool. TV had only a few workeable Japanese channels. No lift. Minimum breakfast of 3 sweet rolls, no Japanese breakfast, eating salon with no cozy ambience but rather practical environment Don't understand what is particularly 'Eco' about the hotel. Like most of Japan a huge amount of throwaway plastic bags, plastic etc
Location - easy walking distance to Gion and temples. The inn is in a quiet residential neighborhood. This is the neighborhood you want to stay in because all the tourist sites are here. Staff - very helpful and went out of her way to help us sort our taxi issues and to find a place to rent a wheelchair for my mother. Spoke decent English too. Very good value for the money. It's clean and basic hotel
I'm used to staying in mid to upper range and high end boutique hotels, such as Hotel Monaco, W, Westin, etc. If you are used to these types of hotels with a lot of amenities, you will be disappointed. However, if you are looking for a clean, basic, no frills rooms in a good location, you can't go wrong with this hotel. Very tiny bathroom and it smelled everytime you flushed the toilet. I think the vent is underneath the floor?
great location, friendly staff
firm bed, hallway doors can be a bit noisy if other guests are slamming them
Everything ! The staff is very nice, helpfull & welcoming. Bedroom really clean It is possible to do laundry & rent bicycle !
The friendship and facitiy
It was difficult to find the hotel at the arrival
The hotel is in the heart of the Higashiyama sight seeing district, as well as close to Gion for eating at night. Very quiet, and there was a lovely canal nearby too. A light breakfast was included which I wasn't expecting.
The bed was really firm.
convenient, quiet location, basic but everything taken care of.
nothing for the price.
Rooms could use some better upkeep.
The staff here speak English and accommodated our bicycles in an underground garage. Good wi-fi connections and they replace towels and sheets only every 3 days. It is ridiculous to waste water washing linens daily as most Japanese hotels do. The hotel is only a short walk from the main temple corridor and not far from the Gion area of town.
Perfect location for visiting the temples and geisha districts of Kyoto. Nice laid back feel, with large communal room provided for guests. Loved the free massage chairs!
Location is very good, near Gion, and like staying in a villa area
breakfast too simple
Great location, near temples, Very helpful staff, massage chairs great. Room was good and on a direct bus route to the station. Free coffee / water
only a minor thing as the breakfast was free but could have been better or they could have charged for an upgrade with some fruit or cheese ?
Nice staff, nice and adequate facilities, comfortable location for walk to Gion and Kiyumadera temple and many others around
Great location, tasteful decor.
Unfortunately, both my husband and I discovered that we were being bitten by bedbugs. It took a couple nights for this to evolve, but by the day we left we were certain. Another guest also was complaining about being bitten. A major headache and disgusting!
Close to historical attractions.
Not so easy to find from the time you get off subway.
5Mins walk from Kyoto subway Higashiyama station. However it is tricky to find. I used Google map street view to know the area before the trip. Basically from subway station exit walk toward to the local river then try to find a local dentist office. The hotel room is pretty clean. Staffs are friendly. Don't expect too much from the breakfast. Hotel provides complementary laundry machines. The dryers are Japanese design and will take long time. I air dried outside the balcony. Tv only has local channels. Nhk hourly news has English dubbed if you know how to switch from the remote. Bathroom is small from Western point of view. Highly recommended.
Not too many restaurant choices around
Clean and comfortable Very near art museum~
The hotel is at a good location, is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
Great location. All of the major tourist destinations (Southern and Northern Higashiyama, Gion, Nishiki Market, etc.) are easily accessed by bus. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great value in Kyoto.
The mattresses were a little hard, but still fine, and if you are seeing the sites in Kyoto you will be walking so much anyway that you will be ready to pass out as soon as your head hits the pillow.
The common room is very nice, equipped for tourists couriosity and needs. Wifi works very well there. Unlimited tea makes it even better! Close to metro and busses and some temples. 15 minutes of nice walk along a small river from night places to eat or sake drinking.
A bit far from the station and from night places.
Massage chair in lobby, free coffee and water in lobby.
A bit hard to find
The place was really close to the Higashiyama District as well as Gion. The staff was well informed and helpful. Breakfast was small but good. The massage chairs were amazing after a long day of sight seeing!!!!
