Score from 578 reviews Good
Great location. Close to the Keihan Subway line, Kiyomizudera, Gion, and the Higashiyama district. There is a bus from Kyoto Station. The room was pretty spacious for a Japanese hotel.
Extremely noisy. The hotel is on a very busy main road and fairly close to other big roads. It felt like I was sleep outside on the balcony. I recommend you bring earplugs to help you sleep. The shower was the smallest I have used in Japan. That is saying something. I wish they had taken some of the room space and used it for the bathroom.
Price. Free pastries and coffee for breakfast. Cleanliness. Nice common area.
Not near anything of interest
Not the best location but convenient enough to access to Kyoto Station and Gion area by walking. Close to a bus stop, it is worth to buy a bus day pass at only 500 yen getting around. Rooms are small but nice and clean with private toilet/bathtub unit. Balconies in some rooms are open view facing the Kiyomizu-dera in a distance. The hotel is good for budget travelers, it provides basic facilities we want. We stayed there for few days in November, woke up early in the morning and went out about 8-9am after simple breakfast it provides, then returned around 9-11pm to have a good night's sleep. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially the lady who wearing glasses.
The small bathtub is really a problem, even taking shower.
Nothing stands out.
The bathroom/toilet smell of cigarette. This is suppose to be non- smoking room.
Hotel was average and overpriced, would not stay there again
Cheap. Good location. Very clean. Free toasts.
Bathroom was a bit small.
The staffs were friendly and free flow of breakfast.
I felt cheated by the review, cause it stated that the location was convenience with all the facilities needed. The fact was the location of the hotel was quite far from Kyoto station(20 minutes walking distance).Although there was a bus stop in front of the hotel. but we have to spend 230 yen for the bus ticket while travelling to the station.Next the washroom was too small to fit in a person, furniture was old and bamboo mattress was full of dust. =(
The pantry is very convenient, with delicious breakfast for free. The transportation is convenient.
The window door cannot be locked in my room.
Great location. Small breakfast of sweet buns a nice treat. Free coffee and tea when you wanted in the downstairs lobby. Easy brisk walk to train station and temples. Convenient to hire push bikes at hotel.
The bathroom was small so might not suit some travelers but we managed.
Staff are very nice and helpful, and room space is reasonable for two guests,a cafe providing simple breakfast, and the location is within 15mins walking from Kyoto station,I would recommend to stay here if you plan a budget travel
Wifi in room is weak, there is no cleaning service in room, and should be better if they have laundry
The staff was very nice and helpful. Everything was clean and seemed invinting. The Wi-Fi worked really well as they have a Wi-Fi device on each floor.
The shower was a bit low. So if you don't have a japanese size, prepare to bow while showering.
A budget and comfortable hotel in Japan, thats incredible. close to interesting places. Good wifi. big rooms (hard to find in japan)
Really good option. Close to Gion, Pontocho, train station and some temples, staff will take your luggage up, you get a yukata and slippers to wear inside and free breakfast. Washing waterloo in the private bathroom.
We found a huge cockrouch the first day in the toilette, but it didn't happen any other day.
I like the short distance to Bus and train. You can go to all POIs in very short time. Check for special offers for the train or day-pass for Bus. Nice people there.
Great location, clean, comfortable.
the pantry is full of facilities: tea, coffee, water, fridge, microwave, plates, eating utensils
i think the rubbish bin in toilet is too small
We found cocroaches in our bedroom.
The tatami room was suprisingly large with two washrooms. The futons were also really comfortable with nice large windows. I have no complaints with the room. Bike rentals were easy and cheap from the inn too.
The staff were very kind and helpful :)
Good location next to a bus station, 15 min on foot to the train station, rooms are fairly clean.
Terrible smell in the hallway (probably cigarettes but I can't be sure), the hotel is probably intended for longer stays - room service only every 7 days. Not too bad considering the price but I can't recommend it. I'm sure there are better options in Kyoto even at this price.
The staff were lovely and friendly. It was was basic but had everything we needed, our only gripe was no fridge in room as we use it regularly but there is one downstairs you can use. It's a good location not too far from the good shopping area and old kyoto. More a long stay then a hotel but for us, good value for money.
Brilliant staff with nothing too much trouble. Free tea, coffee and pastries in the morning very unexpected. 10/15 mins from kyoto station or main shopping and food areas. Great overall experience would recommend.
The price thing again, stayed extra nights which price had to be renegotiated. Holiday in Japan so price up, our fault though !!!!
Nice place to stay, has microwave, tea and coffee
No refrigerator in the room
Great location, close to shrines and temples. We could walk almost to all places of interest we wanted to see. Valued for money.Pastries for breakfast were delicious (especially chocolate ones). Convenience store is 2 minutes from hotel. Closest train station is 5 minutes from the hotel.Excellent Wi-Fi connection, another computer with internet available for free close to reception.Rooms tidy and with storage space for clothes, air condition. Staff did not speak English but was helpful (except one lady at the reception who explained us everything we wanted to know, we were nicely surprised with her knowledge of English). We definitely recommend this hotel for stay in Kyoto.
Room were not tidied up during our stay which was not a big deal for us but bins should be emptied during longer stays.
Best value for money next to rail station
Nothing for the price paid
