Bathrooms and products available.
Bed old and lumpy. Noise of other guests. I had bed next to door which is really loud when other guests come in and out.
Has everything you need
You can find noisy guests
Nice and clean. Quite cheap.
Cabin doors have no actual locks, so I was constantly aware someone could potentially get inside my room during my sleep.
Very helpful staff.
Glorified youth hostel. Had to listen to people blowing their nose, rummaging around in their bags and snoring all night.
Staffs were not friendly at all, did not even ask if I needed any help around the property. Limited number of toilets available, only 1 on each floor so had to wait. The Business Class cabins were not comfortable and there were no proper storage area for my luggage so had to leave them outside the cabin.
Cleanliness, simplicity & quietness
The biggest capsule is excellent. They provide you a slipper, pijama and toilet amenities. Everything is very clean.
The small capsule is very very small. If you are planning stay only one night, it's ok. But if you are traveling with a big luggage, it's impossible stay at the smallest one.
Your room was so private and amazee
In the center of the city. Very clean, and quite comfortable. Not expensive.
Clean cabin, good space inside, clean bath (with soap, shampoo and rinse available), and the staff speaks english. A few block have a bike rental store, perfect for exploring Kyoto and its temples and gardens. The hotel is localized just one block to the shijo subway station (Karasuma Line, less than 5 minutos from Kyoto Shinkansen Station), nearest of many conveniences store open 24 hours.
The website is not clear about the direction for arrive at hotel. There they says "article 4" station, exit 5 and one minute walk. No specific. I lost me searching. Is "SHIJO station", exit 5 (located on the corner with Karasuma-Dori), turn left and walking for 200 mt.
Location Design comfortable Secure Service
Need some painting and cleaning specially in the entrance elevator.
The bathroom facilities were great, the bed was big enough and reasonably comfortable, the headphones and TV were nice.
Once you have turned the lights off, the light switch itself (near the screen) lights up incredibly brightly. This stopped me from going to sleep for hours. It was very difficult to block out and was highly irritating. This completely spoiled my stay there.
Very good value/money. ammenities. location centric. 24h reception
The concept. Dark and quiet Perfect for sleeping.
A few members of the staff weren't so friendly.
Sometimes other guest make cough in the middle night very long time
it is a new facility, everything is very clean, a beautiful design inside, everyday you get new pijamas, towels, toothbrush, sleepers... the location is perfect, close to the city center, 5min walk, and 20 min walk to the railway station.
you have to move between floors to get to the shower (if you are in the women floor)
Space and comfort of the cabin. Location Shower rooms excellent
Staff not so welcoming Darkness of the area Massage service personel always at the door od the elevator No possibility to get acquainted with anyone
Modern, wifi is fast, have everything what need, simple but great breakfast, excellent air condition, very clean
The cabin is just perfect! Comfortable, with privacy, everything you need. The staff is extremely helpful, fluent in English. Location couldn't be better: subway station on the corner, all the facilities (drugstore, supermarket, restaurants, cafes) just few meters away and close to the Nishiki market. The bathroom has very nice creams for facial care.
People should read the sings about being in silence in the cabin. The hotel points it out in a very nice way! Even though it was ok most of the time, we had to deal with a Spanish (loud by nature) skyping until late and a never ending snoozing alarm in the morning.
the concept is superb, the facilities are common but also private and clean. people staying there are mostly (i think as i have not seen too many people) Japanese staying for the a night or two. no one even speaks in the cabin area it's so quite. i stayed as a solo female traveler for 4 nights and it felt so safe. the staff is nice and professional but i say don't expect much touristic information. the location is awesome close to most of the attractions and right next to the subway/bus stops and 3+ convenience stores.
first night of my stay the wifi in my cabin was so weak. i had to stay all night in the lounge to be able to use internet, but there was no one other than me so it worked out quite fine. for the next 3 nights i had a room change so it was solved rather quickly. also you cant use normal adapters in the cabin you have to borrow one from the front desk but unfortunately they were all rented out when i asked for it, still there are sockets out of the cabins where you can leave your things to charge with out any safety concerns.
Huge beds in 'first class' pods Hotel towels and pyjamas ('lounge ware') provided for use around the hotel Hot, powerful showers, and free shampoo/shower gel Great Wifi throughout Enormous tv Free hairdriers, cleanser, moisturisers, cotton buds.
The tv guide had some incredibly explicit programmes advertised Not made clear where the stairs were between floors, could only use elevator
The first class 'cabins' are great, a bit of space, a large safe, TV with head set. Next to Shijo metro station or a 7 min walk from next main line. Very friendly and nice people behind the desk. Worth the money to upgrade to the larger room, 33 dollars a night is just fine by me.
the people were just so friendly and helpful, and the place was very very clean. I know where I will go every time I go to Kyoto.
The beds are comfy and each "cabin" feels like it has lots of space. They have a tv and individual air con controls.
No space for large suitcases inside the cabin, you need to either leave it at reception or outside the cabin unprotected.
Excellent location on Shijo-Karasuma, which is close to Teramachi/Kawaramachi shopping area and to Gion district/Yasaka shrine. Reception on 4th floor along with showers. 3rd floor is male only and 5th floor is female only. Plenty showers and toilets, which are very clean as it is a "business hotel". There are 2 sizes, the larger one has a small space besides the futon, which is usefull to keep luggages. It also has been used by many backpackers. Great value
