Dorms are a bit like a capsule hotel, with curtains for privacy. Quite cool. Clean, cosy, and very well located. Staff are lovely.
Only 3 showers for dorm guests - could be a problem when the place is full. Quite noisy in the dorm nearest the stairs. Bring earplugs.
in the middle of gion, very quiet at night exquitsite neighborhood to walk day and night(all shops close around sunset) 3 min walk to 八坂神社 10 min walk to 100\206 bus station( buses that can take you to 金阁寺、清水寺、京都站，etc) 20-25 min walk to 清水寺/二年坂 there are many temples you can walk around in the proximity of Q-beh that are equally beautiful but less known to most tourists the Ryokan itself is so great. beyond all my expectation. my boyfriend and i booked a room with private bath. the room is quite spacious by all japanese standard. and there is some view of the pretty garden next door. there is a public bath tub thing that guests can reserve. common room comes with a full kitchen. there are lounge on both 1st and 3rd floor. and laundry at reasonable price in the front yard. staff speak good english. by all standards, love it very much.
Location location location. This is the best area to stay in Kyoto - easy to reach all other areas (although we didn't mind a 10k cycle to the west and 10k back - it's all flat) So easy to come and go as you please - they close the door at 11pm but you have a coded access. We had a private room with en suite but there are also dorms Laundry area useful Would def stay there again - easy two min walk to busy 'Oxford Street' shopping area in one direction, surrounded by big temple complex with fab restaurants and high end patisserie all behind us.
Small bathroom Had to report that we got locked into our room due to dodgy lock - slight panic. When we got there we were told the japanese baths were fully booked during our stay - not great! Not sure on the system they use for that.
i liked everything. great location, bu the way, it was easy to find this place. friendly stuff, room was very big and cozy designed in real japanese style with Tatami.
the most friendly helpful people. quiet, friendly environment. clean and functional facilities, amazing location in the traditional district, strong wifi. 10/10!
We enjoyed every minute in the Ryokan. The staff speaked perfect english, was friendly and helpful. The ryokan is amazing, with optional private onsen and rooms with little gardens. To be honest, it is the place we would come back as soon as it is possible when we're next time in Japan.
Very clean, traditional, and comfortable. Big kitchen/dining area and upstairs lounge area with games. Stayed in a dormitory and liked that my bunk came with hooks, curtain, mirror, dresser, outlet, and lamp. Was like sleeping in a cloud. Staff were VERY helpful. Location is good if you want to get the feel for Gion district.
Not extremely close to any subway station (15 min walking to nearest). Bath was always booked up very fast. Towels were not free.
The staff was extremely polite and genuinely providing good customer service. Fantastic atmosphere, exactly like what you would expect from a Ryokan. The lounge is really nice, and it's open 24/7. Private shower facility, fresh towels, ample hair dryers, even slippers so that we would not dirty our feet.
Great location Friendly staff Many toilets Clean
I stayed in the female dorm with 7 strangers but the wall is thick enough to block all whispering and talk so I had a nice sleep over there. The location is great and it is closed to train station , so I took a hour only to go to Osaka.
Well, one day , around 6 in the morning, most guests were awake by some loud construction noise .We were not warned about the construction next to the hostel and I am a little bit disappointed about this.
Amazingly friendly, warm staff. So nice and very helpful. English speaking made communication easy. Everything is so clean and tidy and functional. Wifi is strong. The location in the Gion district is the best spot to be in Kyoto. This is the best hostel I've stayed at in Japan so far. Would recommend anytime
Very friendly staff, easy to come in contact with other travellers, everything was very clean Good location
Very clean, very sleek, excellent location
Nothing really, only one tiny gripes which is not worth mentioning when I think of how cheap it was to stay..!
Been travelling Japan for the last two months, and this place is one of the best places ive stayed in. Best location, great fluently english apeaking staff. The place is really clean, has a large kitchen you can cook in, and is two min walk from anything worth seeing in Kyoto.(gion, shijo etc)
Great location, very quiet, good facilities. Really friendly staff with good English.
Sometimes have to wait for showers. Individual beds could do with fans
I had a great time at Ryokan Q-Beh. Showers were clean. The dormitory was nice even if we were 8 girls. Each sleeping space is very wide. It was near temples and attractions. If I could have stayed longer, I would have.
It was just out of circumstances, but there were kids and they were a bit noisy. I could hear them while taking my shower and was wondering if they were playing with my door. But it's not really because of the ryokan. So good job, continue like that :)
Really feel like in Japan...we loved it!
Nice clean ryokan style hostel. Friendly staff, nice kitchen. Perfect location for shrines, temples and geishia's
Staff, room, kitchen, shower were very nice! I appreciate the most white and clean sheets and hot shower. The staff was really friendly. Special thanks to Naoko-san! She helped me very much and answered all my questions before my stay via email very fast.
Location was a little bit far from JR Kyoto station, but it is in Gion! 10 minitues walk from the main street of Gion and temples. In the evening it's hard to find. Better to take a taxi ^_^ Ofuro is very little and was oberbooked for the evening I stayed. So, book it before arrival if you would like to take it.
Located in the centre of Gion, this Ryokan is an affordable way to experience a traditional guest house in the city of Kyoto. Kimonos for everyone and a very lovely place. It has the vibe of a hostel somehow, which was interesting.
It's not one of those ryokans where you go expecting geishas and a bath.. The bathtub, while cute and very clean, is pretty small and you need to book it in advance (it was booked all the time so we couldn't use it).
Very friendly and helpful staff Beautiful, clean and lovely place Large common rooms to meet buddies Good dormitory with a lot of space in dinstinctive cells Very good and numerous facilities Incredible location just beside the Geisha district and right in the temples area The best place I visited in Japan
Everything :-) Very friendly and helpful, English speaking staff. Beautiful room, Japaniese style with the garden view. Fantastic location with very good bus connections to the train station and other sights in Kyoto.
No complaints. Everything exceeded our expectations.
english very good, very clean, excellent location, availability, and kindness, good company. Comfortable
Location is very convenient near to Kodaiji temple and Kiyomizu-dera temple. The ryokan style is new as picture shown. I love the bathing and basin layout. The environment and hotel spaces are fine and spacious.
The only fatal drawback is the feather blanket. Maybe in personal opinion, I can't really stand the feather smell and obviously not a sound sleep.
