Opened in August 2014, this hotel is in a great location just a 3-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station, offering direct services to Harajuku, Shibuya and Akihabara areas, all within a 20-minute train...
Score from 213 reviews Excellent
location breakfast included
heavy door not suitable when travelling with bags room too small table too crowded with many things
Location, location, location!!! Extremely close to Shibuya crossing, 7 mins. At this price, can't beat the location.
Continental breakfast included in price was very poor. For some odd reason the had pale and penne salads there, maybe because the options were so sparse.. juices were juice cocktails, not real juices. Bed wasn't very comfortable. Room was showing many signs of wear..however all that said, location to shibuya was still worth it!
Location great for station, main shopping centre and good restaurants and bars. Friendly and helpful staff, Very clean. Comfortable room/bed Good washing/shower facility.
The downstairs coffee shop/ bar was expensive and the food on offer not very appealing.
Loved this hotel. Pleasantly clean, comfortable bed and good pillows, no chemical/fragrance smells. Delicious breakfast (I chose Japanese set). Very close to the action but on a quiet small street. I was upgraded to a bigger room so I'm not sure how small the basic single room would be, probably pretty small but the design is good. From Shibuya station it's a very easy walk, even with luggage (there's an elevator at the pedestrian bridge).
I wished the window could open, even a little. But despite that, the air quality in the room was good.
Excellent location close to Shibuya Station. Nevertheless silent. Breakfast.
The lobby was a bit messy.
a very well thought and made/designed rooms (especially for single ones).. quite small in area-wise; but very efficient in which you can find every need you may have in a room.. especially the bathroom is very-well thought.. totally clean, well-taken care of and have lovely, helpful staff either.. no need to mention about the location as it's in the heart of whatever you want
nothing to declare really, but having a small closet for clothes would be a fine solution (no idea how to fit in there)
Coffee maker did not work. Cold shower until very end. Toilet flush hard to find. Did not appreciate breakfast fee requirement.Did not see that on Booking.com. Bed was really too low and hard. Granbell Shinjuku was much nicer all around.
Already said above.
First impression, it is very close to Shibuya station (South Gate), but still has the tranquility to provide a good sleep. Rooms are the usual Tokyo hotel size, but at the very least my room does not face another building or a wall. It is my first time staying in Shibuya and I was surprised by the variety of food around the hotel (3 very decent Sushi restaurants, a couple yakiniku places, lots of bars and pubs, a japanese sake and beer theme restaurant and other kinds of international cuisine within 2 minutes of walk). Did I mention that they offer an a la carte and also a buffet breakfast?
Even though it is 8 minutes from Shibuya station, I had to cross a foot bridge to get there, so beware those with heavy luggages. It is also a little difficult to find. It is also NOT in the "center" of Shibuya (close to the Hachi exit), so those looking for action (shopping malls and buildings with 10s of restaurants inside) right next to the hotel will be a little disappointed.
Location - walking distance to Shibuya station and shops; decor - cool, funky look.
front rooms were a little noisy, from street and adjoining rooms.
Smoking roons smells like an ashtray
Staff very kind, next to the station and all Shibuya, really clean, breakfast included... The room is confortable enough. Really good hotel.
Stylish, comfortable rooms, be it rather small. Space comes at a premium of course in Tokyo, but price quality wise this is excellent value for money. Helpful staff. Outstanding location.
Tried one of the breakfast options, in the street level cafe and that was awful except the coffee. There are plenty of alternative options in the neighbourhood.
Clean room Excellent facilities Extremely comfortable bed Modern feel
The room was a little small, however this was a one person room
Very good. Staff can speak good english so for someone who does not know much japanese its easy to get information for tourism. The food was very good, order japanese breakfast and you wont be disappointed. Very welcoming and very helpful.
If you like to stay in and relax, theres not very much to watch unless you can speak japanese.
Ok location, stylish and modern. Bathroom was good for a japanese hotel. Breakfast was good too
Nice style, convenient
Staff a bit slow
Staff very helpful, room had all facilities and very well equipped with comforts - dressing gown, slippers, refrigerator, coffee, etc
N/a - wld recommend to everyone
the room is very very very small
Loved the bold designs incorporated throughout the hotel. The shower was fantastic - really powerful, and the complimentary shampoo etc were also very nice. I had a good connection for the free wifi. Great location just a few minutes from Shibuya station and the directions provided on website with thumbnail photographs were very useful.
Perfect sized room for a solo traveler, particularly given the price and location. So many budget hotels in Tokyo are incredibly bland, which is expected, given the price, but the Shibuya Granbell Hotel managed to be decorated quite nicely. Bed was firm but not hard as a rock, nice rainfall shower, and there was a desk and a TV though I didn't really use either. Location is very convenient - it's walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping around Shibuya Station. Hotel staff were very friendly and happy to help, plus they spoke good English (not that I expect that when I visit another country, but it's definitely convenient for me, given that I don't speak Japanese). If I'm fortunate enough to visit Tokyo again someday I would definitely stay here again. Great value.
The staff was awesome. They tried so hard to advise me where to go and they were correct. The girls were so fun. Thsnk you
Being from the west I think we like larger rooms
Perfect staff, good location, wonderful breakfast.
Excellent localization. I'd stay there again.
Second time there, and a perfect place to be based for a few days work/travel in tokyo.
