Nice rooms with balcony.
Unable to book shuttle bus to train station. It's always full.
I just chose this place as a transfer point when arriving from overseas and heading to Kyoto the next day. The staff was all very accommodating of me and my 2 year old. Short walk to train station. Everyone was helpful with directions (even for Kyoto, which I hadn't totally planned how to get to the hotel). The 7-11 was perfect to just have a snack upon arrival and the breakfast was fine.
The line to the full breakfast place was really long so we did the small cafe, which was fine but only has fixed menu and I would have preferred a la carte.
Besides the very courteous team, the room size was perfect for me and my family. The best 3-person room we had during the trip to Japan in a western style hotel. And the possibility of delayed checkout worked perfectly for us.
It's a very big hotel, ideal venue for conventions and other business/social gatherings. But sometimes it took too long just to get to our room.
It's a huge hotel. Close to a major JR hub, Shinagawa, the location was very good. The room was quite spacious by Japanese standards. With a good view. The hotel has an affordable convenience store and restaurants on the premises. All but some of the reception staff were very polite, considerate and helpful.
The hotel's strict policy not to accept any advance payments and charge the guests only after every 7 days couldn't be adequately explained by any of the staff. "This is the Hotel's policy" was supposed to suffice somehow. As a result we lost quite a sum of money due to the Russian currency fluctuations. Other hotels in Japan don't seem to have any problem with guests wishing to pay in advance. Such a policy is a rare and unwelcome exception to the general rule. The reception staff were polite though a bit too busy sometimes, answering phone calls while with you. Some didn't understand English sufficiently well.
Level of English spoken at reception / concierge has improved since last time we stayed (8 years ago). Free shuttle to Shinagawa station made things easier with heavy bags. Staff went to some lengths to find a teppanyaki restaurant nearby (which was awesome). English language newspaper delivered to our door in morning (unexpected)
Staff unfamiliar with surrounding restaurant options (probably trained to only promote in house options.) Hence 10 minutes of frantic googling to find us a teppanyaki restaurant which was literally around the corner.
Very comfortable and clean.
the location is slightly far from shinagawa station.
front desk staff service beyond expectation, carried EVERY guest luggages to room, and very helpful in booking our airport bus.
new year eve buffet at Marmolade food was below par. food selection very limited, decoration and atmosphere too bare, you dont feel the celebration at all.
Buses to train station were always full!
Hotel in a garden setting; 7-11 CONVENIENCE STORE IN THE HOTEL LOBBY; DIRECT ACCESS TO AIRPORT LIMOUSINE BUS.
Rude male check-in staff: a very stern "NO" when asked for a second room key card, repeated my question and still a very stern "NO"; ROOM SERVICE MENU IS NOT KIDS FRIENDLY: IN TERMS OF LIMITED VARIETY & SERVICE HOURS (NO ROOM SERVICE FOR LUNCH); ROOM CONDITION IS QUITE RUN-DOWN CONSIDERING IT'S A GRAND PRINCE: CARPET IS STAINED & NEEDS A GOOD VACUUM, PERSISTENT URINE SMELL IN BATHROOM THAT WON'T GO AWAY (IN BOTH MY ROOMS), BATH TUBS NEED TO BE REPLACED OR A NEW COAT; SMALL ROOM SIZE & LOW CEILING IS CLAUSTROPHOBIC.
Easy to get about and close to a major hub - shinagawa station
Easy walking distance to Shinagawa station. Our family had 2 rooms on different floors which was fine as they're adult children.Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was good value for money though coffee very average
Garden was wonderful! staff were very helpful.
Carpet in our room needs some cleaning to remove the stains.
Very near to Shinagawa Station Shuttle bus free of charge fm hotel to Shinagawa station and v.v., save hassle to go uphill and downhill.
there is no kettle available or coffee maker, just a "pot" that looks basically something to cook rice or something else. Except for a plug in the bathroom, able two accomodate two pins Schucko plug, you won´t find any three pins plug, either UK or US. If you have adapter be sure to have the two pins together with you. No three pins (either US, UK, Chinese) will fit. Minibar empty, water drinkable, if you want to drink bottled water you have to buy it outside
Breakfast, direct bus to airport
No help with luggage not normal service expected.
Ruime kamer, de diverse hotel faciliteiten, ligging tov Shinagawa station
Very comfortable room and view. Lovely garden and pond with fish. Flower artwork in lobby. Free 2 way shuttle to local train station Shinagawa - which has direct connection to Narita airport on Xpress (certain carriages only). (I'd booked this hotel thinking it was near the main Tokyo rail station so took longer from airport and had to transfer back for onward travel. It would have been good choice if heading on to Kyoto but we were going north to Niigata.)
I like the location it's a clean enviroment Transport bus to Narita Airport Quite and Friendly Staffs
Not a thing
Friendly staff Good location Free hotel shuttle to JR station
Proximity to Shinegawa station. Good wi-fi. Large room by Tokyo standards
limited dining options. Fairly basic room - few frills for the price.
Railway station shuttle....convenience store in hotel...very peaceful complex
15mins' walk from the shinagawa station. Free shuttle bus between the hotel and the station. The japanese style garden is rather large and beautiful
Great free transport from Shinagawa station to hotel. Easy to book airport shuttle to both Tokyo airports. Excellent staff. Room very spacious and bathroom was amazing. Ok views of the city (probably prettier in spring). Buffet breakfast (even though quite expensive) was a great way to end our adventures in Japan!
Shinagawa is a business district, so there's not much (nothing) to do there, you will have to travel around. To use free transport from hotel to train station, you need to book it (we weren't told).
~ Access to train station
~ Reservations required for the shuttle bus to the station (although its not that far to walk in a Typhoon it is!) ~ We had to wait for our room to be ready (approx. 15 mins). Checkin was 2pm. We were checked in at 3.15pm ~ The pillows gave my husband and I sore necks the following day. ~ Not much shopping around Shinigawa especially if it is raining. Its more of a business area
Confusion over room service voucher system. Got vouchers at check out. That was no use.
