The owner is friendly, she prepared in the room a booklet with all restaurants/ convenient stores in the neighborhood with open hours. That was really helpful. The room was quite big, I could open my luggage completely on the floor(was not the case in other hôtels where I stayed).
It was a bit hard to find, it is in a quiet and small street, my taxi took a while to find it. Tip: It is nearly at the end of the street when you come from the metro station. The bathroom is quite small but this is japanese standard.
Traditional room look. I love the fact that it's located at a small street, i enjoy walking at the streets looking at the small houses :) It's quite near to Kyoto main station as well(for those who enjoy walking) :) owner speaks good english and is very kind and friendly!
Slightly difficult to find, as it is located at a small street.. Lots of asking around and map analysing.. Again, i don't really mind as i love the view and adventures :) i'd love to suggest the owner to have bigger signboard, though.
Close to supermarket and only a short walk to the train station. Room was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.
Not only was the owner very kind, she also took the liberty of preparing a book filled with all the locations of all the sights of Kyoto. It's also conveniently placed and near convenient stores and cafes.
A great place with all basic facilities. Location is good and the owner is helpful and is quite fluent in English.
Have to walk thru alley and building to get into our room but this is only a minor minus.
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff. The speed of wifi was fast.
The place is not difficult to find
But quite a long walk from the Kyoto train station
Warm welcome. Quiet and clean place.
The owner was very friendly and helpful, I felt so welcomed here. The room was traditional Japanese styled, it looked so cool if you love Japanese culture. Location is okay, not too far from subway station.
Small Bathroom and it's very cold in the bathroom.
Location very close to subway stn, very close to the city center. Twin bed were super comfortable. Have access to wash laundry and dry it too.
- The staff speaks good english and is very helpful. - The house is in a quiet neighborhood. - Not expensive.
- Did not have pc/laptop that guests can use. - Did not have elevator. I had to carry my heavy luggage to the 2nd floor. - The noise from the washing machine downstairs at night is audible from my room in the second floor. - The house was difficult to find at first because the streets did not have english translation.
The owner, Miki-san is extremely helpful during our stay. She helped in everything we requested including helping us making a reservation to a restaurant that only speak Japanese. The room was comfy and it felt like we stay in a relative house. Very good if you want to experience sleeping with futon on tatami mat. You can use the kitchen to cook or heat up food, and this is convenient for us who buy a lot of bento food for our dinner.
The bathroom was kinda tiny (but very clean). They don't have elevator so you have to carry your own luggage upstairs (I think they have four floors) but miki-san even helped us carry some of our luggage.
Near the station Silent place Good staff
low cost, nearly Ryokan experience
the tatami mats had a smell because they were newish, had to go out for breakfast
- great Wifi
- Tiny bathroom - Rooms (for a group) were in different houses - "Western style beds" are just mattresses on the floor, with a towel for a blanket
the staff is very nice and available
beds were quite hard
The host was very very nice and helpful, and she spoke english. The location was only a 10 min walk from Kyoto Station.
The walls are thin so if the room neighbours are noisy you might hear them.
It's not that far from jr station.
Cleanliness wasn't the best. Air-conditioning wasn't really working properly. "Hotel" wasn't even marked. Just a piece of paper at the side of the door, that had handwritten on it the name, by a very feint marker pen. Might be OK for backpackers, definitely not for a family with kids.
The room was simple, but the price was good right on Gyon Matsuri when Kyoto was booked out. Location is good too, close to a convenient station with a few restaurants around. I also had a medical emergency during my stay and one of the staff helped me find and call a hospital!
Located in a tiny street, hard to find since the hotel sign was so small. Slow Wi-Fi. Air conditioned made too much noise, so I had to turn it off at night (trust me, you don’t want to do that during the summer).
internet and situation its ok.
the room and the bed was dirty.
Good, quiet place. Clean, neat, safe and close to metro and railway station.
great host. very friendly.
no facility for coffee.
Staff is welcoming and helpful The guest house is not far from subway and main bus lines
Tricky to find (no visible sign)
Quiet neighborhood and nice environment. The friendly and helpful owner Miki made my staying experience in the guesthouse more comfortable and wonderful. She even upgraded my room from single to double room the day I checked in. The Japanese style double room is spacious, clean and comfortable. I truly appreciate such a great owner!
