Nice and friendly guesthouse, comfortable beds, the subway station is close.
I truly enjoyed the staff and the other guests. The staff was so helpful and kind. They helped us book tours, gave directions, and spent time getting to know us on their down time. They helped us throw a nice, small Japanese-style BBQ and meet&greet for the new guests over the weekend. It was an awesome yet affordable place to stay. Thank you for all the great memories.
Since I stayed about 9 days in the dormitory-style beds, I did notice that the mattresses were not as thick as I would have liked them. Yet, the mattress was still comfortable and the staff changed my linens even couple days, so my bed stayed clean and fresh. I appreciated that.
BBQ and friendly staff!
It was quite far from the main areas of interest highlited on most travel sites.
Cheap, extremely friendly staff, cleanliness . Close to convenience stores and supermarkets and subway station.
Muromi is a bit far from city center. It does not take long to go to Tenjin but a round trip costs more than 5 euro.
Cheap, clean and free laundry.
Position is a little bit far from the city center and transportation is very expensive in Fukuoka.
I was at Hokorobi guesthouse for 5 days. The staff here spoke English fluently which was extremely helpful when asking for assistance of any kind. The place was clean with a shared bathroom per room and additional washrooms and showers on the first floor. The kitchen/dining area was a great place to socialize with other guests. There is bike rental and approx. 5 min walk from station, very easy to find. Quick and near access to convenience store, markets and restaurants.
Location was not the best in Fukuoka but the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff definitely made the stay that much more welcoming!
The common space is a great place to sit and meet fellow travellers, they have a good kitchen and all the amenities you could want.
Nice and friendly staff.
bit far from the center.
I stayed only for 1 night in female dormitory room and overall rate for the room was 9/10 for a dormitory room (I've stayed in Capsule Hotel and dormitory room of hostel before) They provide quite a large locker, it was really neat and clean, also the most important of all they provide a power strip with 4 sockets each bed! A life-saver :') The staffs were also nice and although I didn't use the kitchen but by hanging out around there will make you feel like home. Also the security lock was also advanced so it's super safe to stay there
Though there are entrance space and drawer to put your shoes, it's kind of messy..
friendly and helpful staff
the location is a bit hard to find
Only few minutes walking distance from railway station. Staff is so friendly and can speak fluent English. All the stuff and furniture are so new and clean. Provide free laundry which is excellent for backpacker.
The staff was very nice, and I appreciate that they were very close from the guests!
Shower a bit dirty compare to other but still OK!
Everything was perfect and the staff is really nice
The hostel is in the middle of nothing but it's near the fukuokakukosen, which takes you the the shinkansen station and to the airport too
I did not end up staying here. The staff was helpful in cancelling my reservation.
Staff and facilities
Difficult to find at first, but easy once found...
All staff are very kind and helpful..
Quite a good location, bike hire for 500 yen a day.
No lift and you may be allocated to the fourth floor - might be a problem for the less mobile or those with suitcases.
The staff members are kind and helpful.
After 11.00 PM you can tell to the customer to not to talk louder. During my stay on 5 June night, around 1.00 am - 3 am group of people staying in the guest house make lot of disturbance to others my making loud noise.
Sunny, clean, good price
Not much culture, rather plain
nice place to roam around
Awesome Staff Easy Location (near Muromi Sta) Facilities
It could be quite challenging finding an accommodation at Fukuoka during holidays high season, so I am glad I could secure my spot at Guest House Horokobi. The access is rather far from Hakata shinkansen station and downtown area, but this was OK for me since my main activity was around Fukuoka Dome (3 stops away with subway). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Considering it is a guest house, it is well equipped too.
When you have big and heavy suitcases, the Guest House might look further.
