The owner never changed the towel or sheets during my 3 days stay. There's a sign indicated clearly the creditet card be accepted, however, the owner told me it was a "mistake" and asked for cash. It cost so much trouble for a traveler who doesn't carry lots of cash

The Wi-Fi was very bad, although we were 3 rooms away from the router. Bad location, even a convenient store was quite a walk away. Although the room has tatami-mat flooring, I would not call this room Japanese- style. It is just two mattresses on the floor.

Disponibilidade. O quarto estava sujo.

Posizione molto tranquilla in quartiere tradizionale.

During a recent successful five-week visit to Japan in which I visited cities as far north as Sapporo and as far south as Hiroshima, I had occasion to stay in many pleasant hotels. The Guest Inn Kyoto was without question the only lodging I could not recommend to anyone. My room was on the fourth floor and there was no elevator. The one little pillow was unpleasantly hard, and the futon on which I slept was covered with a Turkish towel-like fabric which was uncomfortable against the skin and which had a dubious history of laundry visits. In my room there was no hot water pot, not a single teabag, no refrigerator, no alarm clock. In the bathroom there were none of the usual bottles of soap, shampoo, or conditioner. There was no hand towel, no washrag, no change of bath towel after the first night's stay, and no up-to-date toilet. Furthermore there was no convenience store or acceptable restaurant in the near vicinity. Yet the cost of this lodging was equal to that of many other and much better lodgings in which I stayed. If one is offered Spartan accommodations, this should be reflected in a much lower price!
