The staff is really helpful. Private onsen as you can lock the bathroom door. Big bedroom. You can ask staff to send you to station when check out.

The location is a bit far from station but able to walk. However you can appoint hotel staff to pick you up at the station if you have exact arrival time.

Outdoor onsen is beautiful and we can use privately as first come first serve. You wll experience home-stay accomodation. The owner is very kind and friendly, she picked us up and dropped off at the station

This place feels like we stayed in neighbor's house. The two public baths are awesome.

The dinner here cost 2200Yen which is way too expensive for chicken and some small dish which were not match my test (I don't like it to be honest).

We were very pleased with the set up of the room especially in a chili rainy day - the Japanese table with a 'radiator' (?) underneath gave us a good break before we headed off to explore the town. The lady who took care of us was very helpful and gave us a couple of free rides. It's very appreciated considering she's busy and public transportation is almost none in that area. The hot spring was open 24 hours and we enjoyed pretty much.

The toilet in the room was constantly smelly - guess the ventilation was not very good. The hot spring in the ryokan can be cleaner.

We stayed in 10 ryokan and Hasuwa was the second worst one. The best thing was its real onsen, beautiful and genuine, but that's it.

We were in the sakura building, besde the main one (hopefully the main one is better). The room was cold, there wasn't enough blankets. Most of all, it wasn't a real japanese style room as we expected. The railroad is just beside the building, but luckily there wasn't a lot of trains. There is a window between the sleeping-room and the corridor right above the bed (why?), so we could enjoy the light tuned on by of our neighbours in the night. Breakfast wasn't that good, in a room that has no charm, like most of the hotel. We had better experiences in other places. Too bad.

Very nice staff, speak english very well ,pick up at Yufuin station on check-in and drop off when check-out. Not very far from station. Very nice private onsen. Not very crowded. Room is clean and comfortable.

I read review that dinner and breakfast also provide at hotel , but in didn't have meal plan so I request for it and state if there's any additional cost for the meal is acceptable. The hotel response was no meal provide. So I'm quite surprise by this. However when I arrive at hotel, It can be clearly indicate that they provide meal (at least breakfast) I'm not sure if it's just missed communication on my part or not. (I'm just saying this because I felt sorry I didn't get to try the dinner that the review claim to be very delicious) A bit far from walking street but is a walk-able distance. Other than that, love everything about it!

Basically the owner was helpful in picking us up at the station and taking us back at the end of the stay. When we criticised the dreadfully small room she first showed (NO BEDS) she gave us another room which had beds plus typical ryokan-style room. WE also had use of a sitting area outside the room, which was OK, plus a private onsen but only accessible by going outside.

lack of space to put things. Only shower was outside with the onsen. A rip-off for the price we paid.
