Hotel Sunroute Hiroshima    

LOcation was perfect - right near the Peace park and easy walking distance to city - restaurants, shops etc.

Would have liked an onsen! And parking was not available for my van.

Good hotel for price.

Booked a twin bedded room but received a room with a double bed.

The location was lovely. Our room overlooked the river and the peace park. The room was fairly small but had everything you could need.

Extremely fantastic location. Minutes from Chuden Mae tram stop, Peace Park, Hondori St., other restaurants/shops. Friendly staff that speaks English. Comfortable rooms. Currency exchange at the front desk.

Building has a central heating/air system. During transitional seasons, you may not get the room to the temperature you prefer. We stayed in mid-April and it was warm outside. The hotel's heat was still on, so our room was much warmer than we preferred. The staff was willing to make other arrangements for us, which was very kind. It was our last night there, so it wasn't necessary.

Great access - easy to find. Staff were fabulous. Appearance / Cleanliness provided a great impression. Hotel had a bar for drinks in the lobby.

I liked the Sunroute hotel

It was a great location for accessing the peace memorial & park. Also easy to find by asking at the Hiroshima train station information desk and taking the tram. Within walking distance of restaurants and shopping malls. I would stay there again.

The location was excellent and the staff very helpful. Although my toilet seat was spoiled everything else was OK

The design is dated but this did not affect our pleasant stay in this hotel.

The location was brilliant. I visited some 35 years ago, but missed the Peace Park. Spending 6 hours there was absolutely amazing and that is what I have waited so long to do.

Free wi fi in the rooms rather than just the foyer would have been an added bonus, but basically it was all great.

having to leave the key at reception when going out as one then had to queue to get their key at the reception on returning. Suggest a separate collection area for picking up ones key.

Great location to discover Hiroshima

Although we booked a non-smoking room, we ended up in a room were either had been smoked before or smoke air come through the ventilation system into the room.

The fact that it was so close to the peace memorial park and that it provided a good distance between the shopping district and other galleries was good too.

It was far away from Hiroshima station but that wasn't a big problem, the taxis fare to Hiroshima shinkansen station from the hotel was around 1,500 yen. Another problem that might freak people out is that it used to be a smoking hotel so the rooms do smell like cigarettes.

A great place to stay. Very close to peace park. A bit further than we expected from the railway station. Would be a long way to walk. We grabbed a cab, much easier with our luggage. Hiroshima is a gorgeous city.

Handily located for tourist activities.

Old and tired. Broken facilities. Stained floors and bedding. Paying for the location, not the hotel.

Location, staff, amenities

We asked for a non smokers room and they gave us a smelly box.

The hotel was centrally located immediately across from the Memorial Peace Park and the Atomic Dome. In addition, within 5 to 10 minutes walk, there is the Hondori area and endless shopping and restaurants. Great location!

Comfortable room of a reasonable size with a small wardrobe. Excellent location - within walking distance of the A-bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park, Peace Memorial museum and very close to a tram line. Friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi and cable internet if you have your own laptop. You can opt for an eco-friendly cleaning option if you choose to.

We booked a non-smoking room and were situated on a non-smoking floor, but the room still smelt heavily of smoke. Some hooks close to the door would be handy, because the wardrobe is on the other side of the room. We didn't bring a laptop with us so had to pay 1000 yen/day to use one which the hotel rented out to us. The instructions provided by the hotel for how to get there were somewhat vague - we used reviewers guides.
