Everything: the room, the staff (English speaking!), the onsen (i've tried also the public one, always open, even during the night), the kitchen and the common rooms. Nothing!

Great beautifully refurbished historical building. Very clean and comfortable, good vibe and athmosphere. Onsen (spa) for free, public as well as private. We simply loved it. Just that the towels could be included in the price and not paid for extra.

Great value for your money & perfect location to explore Izu Peninsula. The in house Onsen was small but stylish, a perfect place to be at the end of an active day, to soak away all your soreness and just simply relax. The mix dormitory was a bit crowed when it's full.

Very friendly, nice restaurant map, great facilities with cozy lounge and a real onsen in the house! Top choice. It is maybe normal but I was going to switch rooms so they told me I had to check out at eleven from my first room and could only check in at three o'clock in my second room. I dont understand why they dont make it easier and arrange not to have to wait so long. They tried to when I asked but in my hospitality opinion they could have taken the initiative themselves from a service-minded-perspective.

A very old building but recently renovated. It exudes atmosphere and old Japanese charm. House can seem a bit creepy at night especially on the upper floors if there are few guests. Floors creak as you walk. But that's all part of the atmosphere of the place.

What a wonderful ryokan!!!! We only booked one night ( on a tight schedule) but would gladly have stayed longer. Genuine old building that has been sensitively modernised as required, so lots of authentic Japanese architecture/features, but nothing shabby. Not particularly interesting from the street, but great inside, & it goes on forever, over 4 levels & looks much better from across the canal behind it. Good ( newish) public sitting areas, with good views of trees & canal ( which contains many wild koi, much to my grandson's delight. He also enjoyed the english-language computer & wi-fi. Kitchen is well supplied, so you can save money by cooking for yourself.Staff speak very good English & are both pleasant & helpful. One of our main intentions for going to Ito was to visit a genuine onsen, but unfortunately the water temp. Was about 4 degrees too low.The facilities /baths themselves were great, & the staff apologised in advance for the low temperature, so we didn't worry too much.

It was the most beautiful place I have been staying in Japan in my two months travel. Very friendly staff. Good kitchen facility. Beautiful onsen in the Ryokan. Great lounge. Quiet atmosphere. And much more only positive things I have to say. I stayed twice as long as planned, just to be a bit longer in the Ryokan!

Przepiękny stary ryokan przerobiony na hostel z klimatem. Własne onseny (publiczne i kilka prywatnych), uczucie jak w spa. Położenie nad rzeką. Wszędzie blisko. Personel sympatyczny i mówiący po angielsku. Wszystko mi się podobało!
