|Newly open from March 2015, Sakura Terrace The Gallery is conveniently located a 2-minute walk from the JR Kyoto Station.||
Recommended by the Michelin Guide, the Hotel MyStays Kyoto-Shijo is centrally located in Kyoto and is a 6-minute walk from Shijo subway station.
Score from 1891 reviews Very good
Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from lively Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho Street, Matsui Honkan features large public baths and chic Japanese-style rooms.
Score from 159 reviews Wonderful
Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo is a 1-minute walk from Karasuma Oike subway station.
Score from 504 reviews Very good
The bed is big but too hard. We cannot sleep well.
Comfortable bed. Excellent facilities. Meals ordered from menu delivered promptly. Staff friendly and courteous.
Difficult to find especially in the dark. Only window in the room was obscured glass .
An easy walk to Gion, Shrines, the museum district and to a great ramen place "Karako". Yes it is away from Kyoto station, but we loved the location and area
Love hotel has very good relaxing aura, free handheld massager, and other perks. Great amount of amenities in bathroom such as hair foam, hand cream, etc. Room is very big and spacious by Japanese standards, even has a couch and 60 inch LCD TV. TV installed in very large bathroom, separate Japanese sitting shower and bathtub. Selection of in room drinks and kinky items (payable). Double doored rooms gives very good sound isolation to corridor. Breakfast is served in room, selection of ramen, Western, Japanese, etc.
No real windows in the room so no views. Only existing a double window opening (both frosted) Only accessible by City Bus number 5, otherwise a long walk (800m) to nearest subway station. Fridge is modified such that it will not allow you to put your own items inside so be warned.
It is a love hotel, but you can hardly tell, the bed is amazing and very large. Everything is very clean and they serve you breakfast in your room. Staff was very friendly and there is an amazing massage chair in the lobby. Wifi worked great. I recommend renting bicycles to get around the city. so fun!
Hotel is a little hard to find at first.
If you can overcome the bed bugs and the prostitutes, the hotel has a certain ambiance that is appealing. The room is cosy and the location of the hotel is excellent, close by the temple area.
We were not aware that we had booked a love hotel, nor was anything mentioned at the reception (communication as though in any case as they could not speak any english). After having overcome the huge condom machine in our own room, as well as the huge vibrator and the plenty of porn channels on tv, we tried to see the benefits of the hotel like its location. However in the evening, several prostitutes were being "delivered" at the hotel, which did not give us a feeling of being on holiday (their pimps waiting on the parking lot). The worst part was being stung by dozens of bed bugs. One week after our visit, we are still stuck with lots of bites and itching. Not a great souvenir to have.
Great location Very good facilities Cheap room service Room service breakfast Great value
* Room without windows. * Staff does not speak not even ONE word in english, even being very nice trying to help and very respectful. * Location is inconvenient for coming back at night, it is 500m from subway station that closes early, it is a secluded neighbourhood that obligues to use taxi all the time. * Changed, after first night, to a very nice small hotel at 100m distance from restaurants and bars, at a 1/3rd of the price.
Spacious rooms. Friendly staff.
Location is a bit hard to find.
Location in relation to public transport and ability to walk to many temples and local regions.
Distribution cabinet of sexual products, 40% of channels showing pornographic films and multiple persons booking rooms by the hour using a touch screen booking system.
The people could not speak good English.
Spacious rooms, clean, kind and helpfull staff. Drinks and meals including due to spring promotion. Convenient location.
The location is great, close to Keage station and the Keage Incline which is one of the best spots for viewing Cherry Blossoms.
This is a "love hotel" and as such not geared to handle "regular" travelers needs. The staff is helpful & friendly but apparently not used to dealing with the concerns on guests who stay for longer duration e.g. fixing poor wi-fi connection or providing a fresh breakfast. Clearly these are not issues faced by their usual customers. The TV in the room has porn chanels without restriction, which may be uncomfortable for some.
Very weird place. We stayed on a Saturday night of a very busy weekend, it was the last room available in Kyoto and was extremely expensive. Big but very dark room with lots of strange amenities. Not something we'd do again.
It's a love hotel.
The hotel is only an 8-minute walk from the subway station, and on that walk there are several convenience stores and good restaurants (authentic Japanese places, French cafes, and even a McDonalds). The location is very close to many attractions (Gion, Philosopher's Walk, etc). The room was very spacious, clean, and had a Jacuzzi bathtub. The staff spoke good enough English to help us make a reservation to a tea ceremony in Gion and answer any questions we had. They were extremely polite and friendly.
There was nothing we didn't like about our stay.
Situated between philosopher's path, Gion, and Shijoh. Best price for location, cleanliness, and niceness of room.
It needs to be clear that this is an erotic hotel with a giant vibrator holstered next to the bed to anybidy booking. I know it's normal for some cultures, but for Americans this is not normal. After getting used to the fact that it was a "romance" hotel, it was really nice. We just weren't expecting all the "extras" and they were a little shocking. Also very hard to find. Taxi driver from Kyoto station had no idea where it was. Definitely get a taxi. It's in a dark alley and would be very hard to find if you aren't familiar with the area.
