Staff is excellent. Nice building.
They need more than one bathroom with shower.
The staff was really charming and helpful. They tried they best to make me feel comfortable at all times. They even drew me maps of any place I wanted to visit.
The bedroom had no kind of privacy, which was ok for me. But it may not be liked by some travellers.
Awesome staff Easy to find Really nice and warm atmosphere The boss cooked for everyone and let us try preparing some sashimi with his (amazing) knife. The have a manual machine for shaved-ice which we could use
Only one shower, not enough Not so close to the beach or other attractions
The staff from Kamakura hostel were the most friendly people I met in Japan. I really appreciate my time there with them.
Friendly staff, good English skills Beautiful old building Reasonable price
Air conditioning in private room didn't work Far from the attractions but accessible by bus in 10-15 minutes
the staff is very helpful
the location is.not so good, but they rent bike.so its a good point.
10pm curfew, zero security, no privacy. The house rules were for kids, adults are more respondible than that!
Friendly, helpful staff Traditional Japanese Guest house Very clean Very well equipped kitchen Free wifi/computer Very clean bathroom Homely Bike rental Cheap laundry Relaxing environment Good place to meet other travellers
Not in centre of Kamakura, but no problem when renting a bike
Beautiful hotel, kindness people, feels like home! Kamakura guesthouse team making my trip to Kamakura such an enjoyable and relaxing.
Peaceful shared living space Bike hire Smiles and giggles from staff Well organised shared dorms Directions on website and map were very easy to follow Clean
Bus or bike ride away from Kamakura attractions (but we knew that when we booked, so no fault of the guesthouse). Kitchen was too small for lots of people cooking at same time
Great staffs, really building a friendly atmosphere, willing to spend time with guests. Very cozy and organized guest house, had a wonderful time here.
great place, lovely people , nice and helpful staff ( do not speak English very well.)
location - little hard to find..
Typical Japanese style, worth trying!
Not fansy consider the price, only one toilet and a small wash place. But anyhow the bathroom is big, and that's what traditional Japanese life likes.
The stay was great . But the below bar is not that awesome as quite ex abit. The family mart nearby is fun as there is lucky draw as well. A very comfort and feel like home in Kamakura. Its very great. Please get MIFI in Japan for own convinience to travel in Japan ^^
The owner is very friendly and they show me alot of nice place to explore. The bicycle is the great deal as i manage to explore whole kamakura by bicycle. Tq for the great 2 night stay at Kamakura
staff are very nice
the staff were exceptional! this hostel was so homely and lovely, i cant recommend it enough
What a great place to stay. Run by the most friendly young people I've maybe ever met. Relaxed, fun and happy and left me feeling like I'd made new friends after only two nights. Thanks heaps!
Free bicycle rent for 24h! Really nice and clean traditional guest house! The pub downstairs was the best thing during our stay at Kamakura Guest House!
Only one (but really clean) shower for all guests and only one hairdrayer you can use only in bathroom :(
The two young female staff were super friendly and helpful - really felt like it was a family-run kinda place and every guest is genuinely welcomed.
Took me ages to find - possibly down to having too many options on ways to approach. Also, to know if towels etc were available or not would have been a bonus before arriving as every other place I'd stayed before had not mentioned but did offer free pyjamas, towels, smellies, etc (boring point, I know....!)
nicest staff ever! very good athmosphere with pleasant common space
location a bit out of the convenient tracks, but bicycle and reasonable bus connections which get you anywhere in kamakura and around
Everything was amazing!!!
It's a fantastic old japanese house with friendly staff (even when they don't speak that much english), a nice kitchen, a great common room, it was a perfect stay! It's not located in the main area of Kamakura, but a ten minute walk brings you directly in the belly of the Great Buddha statue. I highly reccomend the small path upon the hills, you can reach every temple and shrine in a one day hike.
Beautiful Japanese style hostel. Friendly and really helpful staff (one of them speaks good English), everything clean. Luggage storage and bike rental.
For people without a map this place could take some time to find for the first time.
