The only reason we stayed in Chitose was to take the bus up to Lake Shikotsuko. We didn't do any hiking, so a half day was plenty for this part. There aren't many dining options in Chitose if you are on foot (we traveled by train), and very little in the way of other attractions in town. It seems to be mainly a convenient place to stay after you fly in from the nearby airport.

It is inconvenient to check in, the heating is not warm enough, it is difficult for us to fall asleep at night. There is no restaurant nearby, and the transportation is inconvenient. I will not make a reservation next time.

We had to travel to Chitose as we needed to fly out from New Chitose Airport. Nonetheless, we decided to stay here for 2 days to visit Lake Shikotsu & the airport for it offers many attractions. We really enjoyed the lake (very scenic!) and the airport - Royce Choc Factory, Doraemon Waku Waku Skypark etc. We got around Chitose in a rental car and the free shuttle the hotel provided. There were also plenty of souvenirs available at the airport for some last minute shopping.

Very close to airport, as well as several ski stations. it is cheaper than Sapporo city, and even if it does not have as many restaurants and places to visit as a big city may have, there are plenty of restaurants, parks and duty free malls and is very quiet place.ENEKOThailand

We had one night stay because we were trapped in bad weather and could not go to our next destination ski resort. Surprisingly we had a comfortable and nice stay here, with Ohuro (hot bath) and near shopping center, also nice restaurants around the hotel. And because the hotel is so near to the train station, we were able to buy the train tickets right after the railway was repaired and left in short time.
