Bed was OK Excellent location! Good value for money.
Staff do not speak English. Hotel is old and dark.
-Location (less than 30 secs walk from Keiseiueno; just cross the narrow street)
-cramped room....especially the bathroom -looked dirty and dusty -smell
Juz footsteps to reach to keisei station. So it is very convenient if u take skyliner from airport or to airport. Also very near to those attraction places e.g. ueno park, ameyako market. The hotel also provide you cold and hot water to make your own drinks.
The room is smelly as though siemonr is smoking inside. But the receptionist claimed that this is a non smoking hotel. Also, hotel is quite old already..
No hairdryer, single room is too hot and dark even the day time. The window can't be open.
Price is ok for people who look for a private room. Location is excellent, right next to Ueno station.
The room smelled like it was a bit mouldy and it didn't get any sunlight at all. But then again, it was the cheapest room in the hotel. The staff only cares about getting paid. They don't speak much English and all they know is words like "pay, money" etc. If you look for a private room for a cheap price at a central location, this hotel is a good choice.
Convenient location Clean Will hold your luggage for you after you check out if you need to kill some time before you catch your train. Wifi did work well in my room and was not slow. However, there is a warning that the wifi is slow.
Must pay every day. So if you booked for two nights or more, they will not take a one-time payment for all the nights. You have to go EVERY DAY to the front desk and pay for the night. Every day was someone different and sometimes you have to 'remind' the person that you booked for multiple nights. Tiny bar of soap. No shampoo or bodywash. Just a small packet of shampoo and rinse that was one use only. Tiny, cramped bathroom. A bit dilapidated. The color of the chipped walls and wallpaper gave the room a cheap, seedy, motel room look. Much like what you'd see in an old noir film. Mislabeled air conditioner was actually a heater.
When I discovered I had the wrong power adapter, despite limited English/Japanese, the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and found and provided just what I needed. Location is definitely it's best feature - across the road from Station, walking distance to markets, restaurants, Ueno Park etc.
Location Internet access All the basics were available
Air conditioner could not be adjusted Beds were hard
Of course is not a great hotel, but is perfect for a short stay, well located near Ueno park and Keisei Skyliner stop for the ones who come from Narita. The rooms are old, but not so small, and maybe not the cleanest ones in Tokyo but for this price... who can complain
The 2 a.m curfew
Super good location, just a few steps from Keisei Ueno station where Skyliner stop. Easy access to Ueno JR & Metro too. Fast and free wifi ;)
The room is really small. Staff cannot speak english.
short walk from station that connects to Narita
unable to see outside poor value for money compared to other hotels in area noisy work going on nearby
The hotel is located near the station and the room was really nice and clean. Internet is fast (make sure to ask for wired internet as the wifi isn't quite good), bed is comfortable and the staff is really nice.
You have to pay every day, and you have to give your key to the personal when you leave the hotel. There is no coin laundry in, or near the hotel, we had to go to Asakusa to wash our clothes.
Excellent location Friendly staff with basic English
You get what you pay for: 30 year old business hotel with claustrophobic room with an unopenable (???) window, Bed's matress is due for a replacement Curfew after 2 o clock (???) Wifi didn't work
Was a nice place to stay in a popular area and close to major stations. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Air conditioner is very weak. I couldn't really feel it while in my room, very hot. Few staff so sometimes had to wait a bit longer to get service if they were away.
Location was excellent, super close to both Keisei and main JR Ueno stations. The sign on the building is small so look closely but it's straight over the crosswalk from Keisei Ueno station west side. Right next to the park and near the lake. Rooms were basic but clean and comfy. Wifi was good. We stayed 5 nights and could not pay all up front - apparently the way they work is you pay one day at a time. Doesn't really matter but handy to know to avoid confusion :)
Virtually no English spoken so just be aware. Staff still helpful and friendly. We did request an early check in via Booking.com and were told they would do what they could, but on arrival they did not seem to know about it. However was fine to store bags there and return later.
Keisei station at ueno is very very closely just 10 walk step acroos the road !
Normal life normal japan style!!
Ease of access to Ueno station and the Ueno park. Great value.
good location, very closely keisei line station.
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff.
room had no daylight, no chairs, no wardrobe.
So close subway!
It should detail to inform where we exist.
Bathrobes slippers toothbrush etc so good extras for budget hotel
No breakfast facility
- old but clean rooms - good location - close to transport and close to central tokyo
paying everyday instead of all at once
Location, Free service for storage our luggage for 4 nights, Good Wifi
