you have to leave the hotel from 10:00 to 14:00. And there are only two showers
Location right in the middle of local street culture. 2 mins from stations Large room with fridge
Could be a little noisey Better directions from station
Location was best. Nice friendly staff and very comfortable. Near train station Ueno park Zoo etc plenty restaurant to choose from all around.
Waiting for bathroom (men) woman ok. Smoking in reception area
First time in this type of hotel. My experience was better than expected. The staff were nice and helpful. Even though their english was limited, we managed to communicate enough. Overall the hotel was clean and neat. Didnt mind that the bathrooms were shared. Everyday clean towels, robe, and a good sized locker to store your belongings. Location was amazing! A few blocks away from Ueno station, Ueno park and a overwhelming commercial surrounding. Food stalls/markets, cafes, pubs/bars, clothes etc. You can find it all. I spent 4 nights, 5 days and cant complain. You get a lot of value here, in one of the greatest cities in the world.
very few things: I adapted quick, but if youre a light sleeper expect some noise from your neighbors. it can range from snoring, while looking through their lockers, squeaks from moving too much in their beds. Again, this is all minor to me considering the type of hotel and the incredible value you get.
Location and price.
Location, 3 minutes from the train station, good price, good staff.
Good Location to Izakaya Drink Shopping and Sleep
No USB plug for the public computer
The cover page shows two photos of a panda eating bamboo.
The panda was not present during my stay. Furthermore, there is compulsory checkout between 10am and 2pm which I'm not sure is mentioned on the website.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Cosy restaurant in the evening.
No towel rental. No real breakfast available. Sink in the restaurant isn't very practical.
My friend, given to miserliness, insisted on this bargain and I feared the worst. But was relieved on discovering a big twin room we could share quite effectively. Right in the heart of the gritty Ueno.
Showering is a communal affair (two shower hoses in bath area) but this, I am assured, is traditional conduct. You can wait until everyone has cleared off and flip the coin at some privacy. Wifi is only downstairs in common area.
The superb location that right in the middle of everything you need. The alley is across the street from Ueno Station, behind OIOI shopping mall, in the middle of Ameyako Market, late night restaurant. Also 3 minutes walk to Keisei Train to Airport, gave me such a care-free feeling to end the trip. I definitely stay there again when I go back on November.
Staffs don't speak english but who does in Japan? We understand each other pretty well anyway :) The only con is the only 1, Yes ONE ! shower/ bath room for all female guests on 6 floor. I ended up as late checkout because had to wait for another Japanese guest to spend 45 of her time in the ONLY 1 shower room!! Dang.
Big capsules Wifi was available in the capsules which was a nice bonus
I stayed in the capsule level of the hotel. The capsules are 2x1, thus enough space to keep my baggage next to my feet. The entrance into the capsule is comfortably from the side, like in a sleeping compartment of a train. The bed in the capsule is futon-style. Internet works in the capsule.
near to Jr Ueno
Nice place, near Ueno Sta. and Keisei Ueno Sta. They have all you need for overnight if you are in transit.
As you can expect this is a small place, with narrow corridors, etc. But this is Tokyo! Not bad at all.
I like the Ryokan style, the hospitality from staff, and also theplace is clean and comfort palce to stay
easily to shopping by geranun.com
Very convenient for shopping there are many things to see to buy. Considering the price it's quite good to stay
The only bad thing is the frontdesk one old man is not polite. The frontdesk has 3 man take turn one man is poor other 2 are very good.
Clean and cheap Good wifi
Non smoking Staff spoke very good English
everything is alright
Not for this hotel, but i prefer dormitory than capsule.
location was very close to Ueno station and many restaurants and shopping wifi worked well on first floor in room
you could hear the trains from the station we seemed to be in the red light district when asked to keep our bags due to time difference between checkout and flight, the concierge left them right in front of the desk room was super tiny, difficult to maneuver in
