Located just steps away from Lake Kawaguchi in the Mount Fuji area, Nishimiyasou features Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV.
Score from 103 reviews Very good
We visited during quite a cold day and the duvet is surprisingly warming Can rent a bike to cycle round the town. ¥300 for the first hour and ¥150 for each hour afterwards. The old bikes are cheaper but the one we used appeared to have a slight gear fault which made it slightly difficult to ride.
Heaters provided give off a bad smell when used Lights on the bikes didn't work, potentially dangerous if biking after dark as there are few street lights
The place has many bathroom and the staff was very helpful.
I stayed on 2nd floor and when someone walking on the corridor, the walking sound from the floor came in to my room which was quite annoying.
Cheap (dorm style room with tatami). Service and staff very welcoming and helpful. Very close to station and easy to find. Everything I needed for one night was provided. Very satisfied overall.
Be aware that in the room that I stayed in a sound isolation is not very good. But this wasn't problem for me as neighbors were considerate. I did't like option for breakfast provided (to be paid separately) here. It was toast with something...
The location.-Nice Dining facility. Perfect for backpackers. Bed. - Comfort. Price. - Cheap.
The toilet. I would prefer they provide door for it (man toilet) . Hope they have water pipe in the big toilet.
There was a mix up with our booking, but the staff went above and beyond to fix it! They were extremely welcoming. Absolutely no complaints!
a bit too old, need some renovation.
The room was absolutely beautiful in japanese style, and the futons were so cozy! The staff was absolutely lovely, really nice and spoke excellent english. The location was also great, just across the road from the railway station.
The bathroom facilities were a little bit lacking, but once we realized there was a regular western style toilet downstairs it was no problem.
So close to the kawaguchiko train station Breakfast at 280y is a great deal
Not much noise insulation.. Hope for quiet fellow travellers Make sure you book breakfast the night before otherwise you won't get any!
Very near to train station. Staffs speak good English & Mandarin. Cheap. Tour package is priced reasonably.
No personal bathroom and toilet.
The staff and location
The place is right opposite the train station and sufficiently near Lake Kawaguchiko (about 15mins stroll), making it an excellent place for a leisure trip.
The common areas, such as the pantry, are small. There were only space for 3 people and there was 8 people at one point in the evening, all jostling to get some water. We weren't allowed to use the restaurant area as they set the tables.
About a block from the train station. Very friendly staff Speak English. The breakfast is ok.
The room was way to small. You sleep on the floor so when you fold out your bed that takes the whole room. The men's bathroom has no wall only a cloth and no western toilet only a squet toilet. I had to walk back to the train station to use the toilet. The shower room was in bad shape.
Very helpful staff, the room was clean and comfortable.
The bathroom facilities would not suit everyone.
The staff was pleasant and it is just about 1-2 blocks from Kawaguchiko train station.
No AC. And JUL/AUG in Japan you want AC! So you open the windows which the windows are right above a restaurant and busy street for people walking and big loud trucks. The trucks were incredibly loud and people walking by talking were also, so even with the help of some cold medicine, sleep was difficult. The womens bathroom is only a squatty potty and the mens, well, there is only a noren curtain so everyone can see you when they walk by. Which, since these are right near the hall to the rooms is all the time. One of the guys in my room would go to the train station bathroom to use. For 2600yen, you may think it is worth it until you are trying to sleep in a hot loud room. And for 2600yen/pp, they can afford to put in AC! They just don't want to! Mr. Koe apparently told my roomie just to take more showers to cool off! Let's just say, I left a nite early and gave up my money already paid and stayed around the corner at the Station Inn. Much nicer! Also, in Kawaguchiko it is very easy to get around so don't be afraid to stay somewhere not near train station. Unless you get there late and the buses aren't running and you are too cheap to pay a taxi....
The owner is so accomodating. I cancelled 2 rooms before the trip but 2 showed up. So when we came to Koe, 2 have no rooms. The owner gave us the other site which is near lake yamanakako. And we were amazed at the place. Its the house all for the 12 of us. Its clean and this is the best experience we had in Japan.
affordable price, a friendly english speaking staff, decent toilet and shower, nice attentions to details such as providing ear pick -and facial cotton near the sink, free wifi, japanese style room, clean, a convenient store nearby (3-5 min walking)
there's no air conditioner in the mixed room. fan alone is not enough in summer.
When we first entered the house there was bad smell. It seems like nobodies do the cleaning. Toilets and showers are dirty. Very unpleasant experience.
No western toilet
No air conditioner
Excellent location near the station
Worn down and felt like there was no effort being made to improve things
Nice room, good location, very nice owners. We recommand the trip to the onsen!
the owner's refusal to help to book a mountain hut to Mt Fuji before my arrival but in the end, she helped to book when i arrived and I thank for the owner's help
Conveniently situated, friendly staff, can leave luggage. Provides all kind of information about the city
Just one (Japanese style ) toilet. No coffee in the morning. There is hot water and a micro-wave, but no plate, bowls.
Right in front of the train and bus station making it the perfect base for climbing Mount Fuji. A pleasant walk to the lake. Kind staff.
You needed to book food in the restaurant quite a bit early. Very few eating out options around the hostel.
Every thing is perfect. Koe House is very near station and you could go by tour or sight-seeing by yourself. The room is over-expected - clean and Japanese tradition. The onsen (but I have to call it public bath - maybe?) is make you feel better after long ride on bus. Nothing negative about this place!
