The staff treated me like royalty and made me feel very special and welcome. They helped out in every way they could. Very conveniant and the view from the onsen was spectacular. While I am sure there were other guests, I hardly saw anyone else, which is helped by the hotel layout.
Only one elevator but with only a few rooms this is not a big deal. Wifi was a little hit and miss.
Fantastic food - beautifully prepared and presented. View of the famous gate from our window as well as roaming deer. Peace and quiet. Excellent green tea provided for use in room. Kimonos and footwear supplied for use in hotel and out - no need to unpack and great fun to wear to dinner and post dinner walk. Wonderful staff - taxi to and from ferries in the rain (yes it rained a lot on this very green island but this really wasn't an issue so don't worry about that)
The island is very busy with tourists during the day - definitely stay overnight to experience the peace and quiet. We had western beds but the window covering is Japanese - paper - so take an eye mask or rise with the sun.
- The service provided by the staff of the hotel was excellent. They were very helpful, can speak English very well and extremely attentive. -The location was perfect, right in the middle of Miyajima, 5 min walk to both the Itsukushima shrine and the ferry terminal. The view from the rooftop bath at night was beautiful! -The room was really nice even though we got the basic room on the second floor, not noisy at all. The futons were very comfortable, slept very well and the bathroom with tub was very nice! -The breakfast was again amazing, we had the western option and it was very nice. Eggs, sauteed vegetables/fish, salad, yoghurt, fruit, bread..lovely! I would love to come back again and really recommend this place if you are visiting Miyajima. It's well worth the money!
We were truly treated like the only guests, like royalty. With respect and concern for every little detail of our comfort and convenience. Excellent english from the manager who attended to us personally. Excellent food and service. Spotless rooms with all comfort. Amazing views from rooftop onsen.
Wonderful staff were very attentive, the room is clean, spacious, light and airy. The hotel is located in the middle of the shopping area on the island halfway between the teinal and the temple. Very convenient for sight seeing. The meals were excellent!
Coming in with our hiking boots and backpacks I felt a little out of place in such a nice place, but the staff in no way made us feel like we weren't welcome. :)
Staff were ridiculously helpful. Room was large, right on the main shopping street but not noisy. Bathroom was modern, clean and bright. Hotel breakfast was a delight with nice views from the restaurant.
Really can't fault this place.
We stayed here while on miyajima island. We liked the ryokan experience as well as the island.
A very warm sympathy by the staff. Very nice dinner and breakfast. Very nice room. Excellent location.
It was very clean. Nice English speaking staff. Location was good.
The beds hard REALLY thick blankets, and this was in end of May. The food was okay, too expensive if you get the dinner. About $90.
Wonderful experience. Lovely hotel, delicious meals and superb atention and hospitaly. I regret not to stay for longer time there.
So glad we spent the money for this inn. We got the budget room, but we still got the first rate service and breakfast. The facility was beautiful, and we were treated like royalty from beginning to end. Definitely want to go back to Miyajima and Kurayado Iroha!
The service was exceptional. All staff the we met were courteous, helpful and anticipated our needs. They were extremely helpful with travel challenges ... Ferries etc. And the food!! Such variety and so delicious. Thank you!
Nothng comes to mind!
No complaints what so ever!
We loved the personal attention before we even arrived - queries about our gender (for appropriate yukatas and sandals) and food and bed type preferences. Reception was warm and courteous. They make you feel so special. An attendant showed us to our room, explained where everything was including emergency exits and served "welcome tea". Dinner and breakfast were included. The food and service were excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. We were encouraged to wear the hotel-provided yukatas, robes, sandals and toe socks to dinner. That added to the fun and enjoyment of the experience. The hotel is a short walk from the ferry and very conveniently located. Our room overlooked the pedestrian walk through the shopping area and the wooded hills behind. It was quiet since the stores all seemed to close early. One of us used the onsen (public bath) on the top floor and enjoyed it very much. We arrived on the island late morning which allowed us the time to walk to the top of Mt. Misen and back down - about 41/2 hours. It might have been nice to take the tramway in one direction for the unobstructed views and photo ops, but there were still plenty of those at the top. We were there long enough to experience both high and low tides at the famous torii gate which was very special. We easily could have spent more time exploring the island. There were enough English speakers to help us through our stay.
We are not raw fish lovers, but there were enough other choices that no one starved.
the lovely room, the onsen and the position. highly recommended!
too late hours for the check-in
Great service and attention to detail. Picked up from station. Room at front of hotel gets the noise from the street below but quiet at night. The onsen on the roof top is the most amazing experience with views of the shrine. Amazing Japanese dinner and breakfast. Close to main shopping precinct. Just lovely!
Pick up from ferry, central location, cleanliness.
Not on a par with our previous Ryokan experience, staff not friendly, atmosphere clinical. Vastly overpriced.
Our best time in Japan was our stay at the Kurayado Iroha!! Excellent service, amazing internal decoration, delicious kaiseki and breakfast!
Awesome room. Ocean side is probably nicer than the street side, but it was very pleasant quiet relaxing room. Breakfast was amazing. Wish we had known to book ahead for dinner. There are only a few places open for dinner at night. The one closest to the hotel was very good. Wish the food was served in your room, to make it more traditional. Very modern building and great bathroom attached to the room with shower and bath. Public bath is small but stunning.
Comfortable and spacious rooms with all the amenities and more. The wifi is good. The staff are extremely courteous and polite.
Does not allow people with tattoos in tubs that are on the terrace. ¬¬'
Peaceful in the evening once the crowds have left. Th food is sensational. The service is prompt, friendly and attentive from all the staff
The late checkin,
Miscommunication in room and also dietary requirement, discremenatory behaviour by staff, no warmth no hospitality unlike all other places in Japan, very poor value for money
Location very central. You will be picked up by car at the ferry terminal if you call them. Food is excellent and please try the Kaiseki dinner.Somewhat expensive but worth it. This is a roykan not a hotel, although we choose to have western style beds. English speaking staff( at least in the reception area). Close to the famous Itsuku-shima Shrine and the bus to the ropeway to Mt Misen.
No complains whatsover
Great staff and great stay, you gotta try it once!
Situated conveniently on the main shopping street very close to the Iwajima-shrine, it is a great place to base your Miyajima visit. The outdoor Onsen on the top floor has great views towards the shrine in the evening. Remember to book evening dinner with the hotel in advance. Food choices is not abundant in Miyajima since most people take day-trips, and the hotels will serve you the best Kaiseiki there is to offer!
