Staff very friendly and obliging. Easy communication in English. Hotel a very short walk between subway stations. Quiet, clean rooms. Small but well appointed. Good value for money hotel

Clean and quiet. Good location near the subway. Near to convenience stores and Starbucks. Near to restaurants. Close to the Kyoto railway station. Close to the riverside with decent nightlife.

The english of the stuff was not so good. The hotel may be overvalued. No washing machines. The laundry service they offered was pretty expensive. The rooms were boring and without colors. Pretty small rooms if you're going to share.

The staff were so nice and helpful, the room was spotless, had an excellent soaker tub in the bathroom, and the hotel location was excellent - near restaurants, walking distance from many places I wanted to visit, and steps away from transportation. I would definitely recommend Hotel Hana.

The room I shared with my adult daughter was nicely done, but was a little tight on space with suitcases. Bathroom had no plugs (odd) and there were only two plugs in the room. Tough to recharge two people's technology each night.

Great staff, very clean and organized hostel, facilities on the bathroom (soap, shampoo, ...), good common areas, good location.

Rooms could be a bit bigger, no curtains at beds.

This well equipped hotel was a great place to stay, with two free internet terminals in the lobby. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Kamo river and the large number of restaurants along Pontocho Alley. The location was easily accessible to attractions in the Gion/Higashiyama area by bus or by walking. Once across the river you can walk either along the lovely river walkway or via smaller streets to major streets home to the Takashimaya and Daimaru department stores. The hotel is less than 1 minutes walk from the Sanjo Keihan subway station and less than 5 minutes walk from the Keihan Sanjo station, which provides a connection to Uji. 20 minutes walk across the bridge and along the river bank will bring you to the Hanyu Kawaramachi station which provides direct access to Osaka. The No.5 and 12 buses pass the hotel. This hotel served me well for 5 days in Kyoto. My room was clean, spacious for Japan, with efficient adjustable air conditioning. What made this hotel so enjoyable was the young reception staff. They were delightful, friendly and helpful. At check-in I was offered a selection of complimentary aroma bath salts. The hotel offers a good value breakfast for 500 yen (which it is necessary to pre-order) of yoghurt, bread/croissant, bacon, hard boiled eggs, selection of fresh salads, tea and coffee. I would definitely stay again.

    Location. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom.

Hotel staff weren't very knowledgeable about biggest festival of the year! Very small wardrobe.

The location is excellent (make sure you take the right exit) & the staff are very friendly (polite, helpful & always greeted us). The rooms are reasonably sized & very clean. Can watch as many films you like using a card system ($10aud for 24hrs). I'd definitely stay here again.

Not much to complain about. Everything was what you'd expect for this price. Better value than what you'd get in Australia

    Helpful staff, clean pleasant rooms

Not as close to the main areas though within 10 to 15 min walking distance. Travellers with big luggage advised to use subway exit 2 with lift although it's slightly further

Situation, close from Gion and the river.

1500 yen penalty for checking out at 10:30!!! The worst breakfast buffet ever: no milk, no fruits, no eggs - nothing!

Staff was excellent! I left my iPad on a train between Hiroshima and Shin-Osaka, and they worked with JR Rail, and found it! They were as happy as I was. They also gave excellent recommendations and directions.

location, central to the city and restaurants, close to local bus line that gets you quickly to the sights

functional, nothing extraordinary or special, and maybe therefore a bit overpriced

they were always smiling. Even with the language barrier, they always tried to help

when we arrived, we had to wait because room was not ready before 3 pm

I just stayed here for one night but everything was perfect, you can easily reach the hotel from Kyoto Train Station with buses, is easier than the subway, just check which stop it is. (I think the bus number is 5, but doble check it)

Good location. Great quality-price value. Not fancy but functional. They gave some nice toiletries (shaving, toothbrush, etc.).

The wifi had some problems sometimes. English at reception was a bit weak, but nothing serious.

Very good location with easy access to transport and city attractions. Excellent and friendly staff. Bed was better than expected.

Rooms, like most hotels in Japan, are quite compact, but comfortable.

I liked the location (although not very convenient to Kyoto Station) and the staff is really very friendly and helpfull. Some speak English pretty well, some don't. I did not use breakfast, so I cannot comment on that

the wifi connection is difficult at times The room itself is comfortable and spacious enough, the disadvantage for me (being a light sleeper) is that within the room there is a constant kind of buzz (some kinmd of ventilation) which you cannot turn of and you cant open the windows either
