Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo  

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The room is very clean, daily room svc, Internet access via cable, daily newspaper, request for transformer for h/p or camera charger. Just walk 2 Mins to Ikebukuro train station and the station is really big. Pls ask the hotel staffs at Concierge for more directions if you are not sure. Don't forget to buy Airport Limousine bus + One day pass Metro tickets with Yen 1600 per adult at Haneda airport next to Information counter. Pls use airport Limousine bus to & from Airport/hotel. Value for money, convenient & save time. You also can buy Suica card to use for daily transportation and costs you at Yen 2000 (500 deposit(refundable)+1500 usage). You can topup the value later at any stations. Pls ask JR/Metro office staffs or station staffs if you are not sure. Otherwise you will end up paying more fares and waste time. Pls utilize Metrol ticket to visit Tokyo Tower, Asakusa temple, Aqua city, Yokohama area, Taking picture with Shinkasen & some more. You also can visit Kamakura from Ikebukuro station and costs Yen 890 for one way. Pls ask jr office staff for platform number to Kamakura or anywhere in the city. Tokyo Disnyeland needs to spend almost one day until 10pm. Travelling with Young children, pls advise to use stroller and the transport is free of charge below 6 years old in Japan. You can browse Electronic products at Bic Mac and shoppings at Sunshine city around Ikebukuro area. You will love it, save money, time and trust me. You can go to 7th or 8th Floor at Lumine store for Lunch or Dinner. Prices are ok. Pls try Mos Burger near the hotel. Very nice. We really enjoy the trip to Tokyo and hope you can enjoy too as per information provided above.

We reached to the hotel around 9am and this hotel did not accept early check-in and end up we have to pay for early check-in charges. Kindly send the feedback to this hotel to be more flexible like in Singapore.

Location, public transport very near. Many shopping possibilities. Friendly and helpful staff.

The condition of the hotel room was very poor and sub-standard for a four star hotel. This was the third and the last hotel we stayed in before departing from Japan. Compared to our previous two hotels , this hotel room was a big disappointment. If not for the payment penalty, we would have moved to another hotel after the first night. We are frequent travelers and have never seen such a shabby and dated room in a four star hotel. We were told that we had been upgraded to a bigger room, but we would have preferred a smaller more inviting and clean-looking room. However, the hotel exterior, lobby, restaurants and shops are maintained to a high standard and deserve the stars.

Excellent location- accross from the train & subway station, restaurants and shops

Rooms are too small for the rate,

Easy access to the Metropolitan Exit of jr line by passing through the tobu & lumine department store buildings. Close to two convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, and very close to the atm (Automatic Teller Machine) of jp Bank at the entrance of lumine building on the ground floor. The hotel can make arrangements for ems and dhl when we hate to carry back heavy luggage and belongings to our countries.

Because the hotel itself is relatively old, the room & facilitiesis are old fashioned in comparison with the other neighboring newest hotels where we can stay at lower hotel charges. Everybody can go in the hotel and get off an elevator on his favorable floor, so the security management is terrible and old fashioned. We need any improvement for security management; for example, only guests can get off an evevator at his room floor. Every late at night, drunken gusetse went back their rooms and their voices in the corridor disturbed my sleep. The breakfast charge is relatively high so I bought some bread and rice balls at convenience stores.

The front desk staffs were very helpful, in terms of the knowledge about famous tourists points, food, train schedules can be obtained anytime with their help. Most surprising thing was that almost every staffs can speak fluent English, which ease us a lot!

Booked Hotel Metrpolitan at the last moment and then wondered if it was too far from Tokyo Central. No! It was great! On several metro lines which made getting around Tokyo very easy. Staff were very professional and all tried to speak English and many spoke it very well. Room was small but when we knew that. Immaculately clean and when we had trouble with the drainage in the bath it was seen to as soon as possible , even the Manager came up and apologized to us profusely.

Helpful staff

Staff were very friendly and ready to serve. The level of English was very good. The location is excellent with 1 min walk to main train station, convenience store and several department stores.

There are no wifi access, only free cable access.

Nice hotel near metro station. Lucky for the 3 mornings we were there to open the curtains and there was Mount Fuji in the distance in all its sparkling white glory! Staff were remarkably courteous and helpful like most of the people we encountered in Japan generally.

Smallish bedroom and bathroom but possibly similar size to many comparably priced hotels in this large city.

Great location, plenty of good food stalls near the Hotel. It's in the heart of shopping area.

Staffs are a little ridged about request. Especially the counter staffs. The Bell captains were great with their service.
