Nice place, they give you everything that an typical Japanese place has. Yukatas, green tea, futon. Also TV, AC, Towels, and more. They offered me to book for a Bus I needed to book. They are so kind. The place is cozy and beautiful. Is is in the Geisha zone so is very beautiful around too. I would stay here again.
The cleaning, the hospitality, and the tradition atmosphere.
Lovely people, handy location, clean and warm and oishii breakfast!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Its traditional japanese place with futon to sleep and nice host. Feels like stay at our own house at japan.
Great location. Clean and hospitipal.
I'm allergic to cats and was ok with Benadryl (sadly, their cat died last year but the minshuku still smells like cat until you get used to it). Loud neighbors on final night. I used the room heater for white noise.
Owners hospitality. Location. Breakfast.
Good location, nice host, big room and small onsen for one person.
No where in Japan is sign posted for the English, even with smartphones to guide you, you will still get lost (My phone is old, so did not work in any case). You have to give yourself plenty more time to go anywhere, do anything.
The location, the people, the breakfast.
Locations near Chaya District and the staff
It's everything the reviews have covered - convenient location close to a bus stop and the geisha district, very friendly and hospitable host, and my personal favorite bit - the room had a kotatsu (leg-warming table)! Nothing to complain about, and the shared bathroom isn't really an issue - it's shared, but not a common bath (if that's what you're worried about), and it's very clean. Definitely would recommend!
The couple was nice. The place was clean. The bedroom was big. We had tea, wakuta, towel, soap, toothbrush. The Minshuku was in a quiet place near a lot of small temples.
Hard to find at first if you do not know how Japanese addresses works. Although rooms are non-smoking, during my stay some guests in the one the room upstairs were smoking and made the whole second floor smell of cigarette.
1) Location - near to bus stops of the Kanazawa Loop Bus (L and R) 2) Privacy and quietness 3) Friendly and attentive hosts
Everything is excellent. I did not try any meals here but the owner walked me to the restaurant in the neighborhood.
of course no!!
the breakfast, the shower room, the room that we stay!!! Everything perfect!!!
I can't come up with anything
Everything. Wonderful staff, neighbourhood (the old tea district) had great atmosphere and it wasn't too far from the station yet it was still quiet enough, the room so spacious it was as if we had two rooms, two air conditioners kept the room comfortably warm even during the winter
Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are nice, would stay here again.
Very friendly host!!
No negatives... if I had wanted more, I would have expected to pay twice as much.
Pleasantly surprised by Minshuku Ginmatsu... Excellent value for money, well located adjacent to the Higashiyama Chaya precinct, and within walking distance of Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen and other major attractions of the city. Also just a short distance to Loop Bus stops. Room was spacious and comfortable, Japanese style, bathroom and shower families clean, etc. very quiet at night. We did not take breakfast at Ginmatsu, so cannot rate that.
this is the place if you looking for privacy with great facilities and the cheapest cost. not hostel but minshuku, live in the same place with the owner in japanese house. it was so quiet and although there were another guests but I never saw them. the lady speak limited english but I could understand what she said and she helped with bus time and route to train station.
Generous home-cooked breakfast. The staff cannot do enough for their guests The elderly manageress ran after us for a km to give my daughter her forgotten JR. pass
Location difficult to find Welcome could be warmer
The room, spacious The area
Helpful staff, although their English was limited (thanks to Google translate + iPad + internet communication was possible though :) Excellent location for exploring tea district.
....tiny room, shared bathroom, toilet down the hall...thin futons
Cheap price ... Lovely older couple who ran the place... Good value. Breakfast..good wifi..It was a good backpacker place however not what we expected...as older women it did not suit our requirements so we moved on
