Good position ocean veiws one window mountains the other ..supermarket across the road .walking distance to port
That I didn't have international license be better than the buses . I turned left instead of right from the port exit walked kilometers away from my hostel . Can't fault hostel Japanese style is what it is
clean and nice traditional room, good location
It is near the port of Miyanoura.
The owner plaies his smarphone and watches TV all day. The minshuku is also very dirty. It is the worst minshuku I ever staied in Japan. Although it is near the port, but far away from downtown by walking(15-20 mins). There is no restaurant and bus after 7pm there. You should have better and a lot of choices in Miyanoura downtown. I really do not recommend going to this minshuku! That will ruin your holiday.
Amazing food, great staff, lovely place to stay. Also the location was very close to transportation. We got rides from the location to a nearby hot spring and some sight seeing, it was wonderful. To repeat myself, the food was fantastic!
Owner is nice and kind to provide essential information, it is a pleasant stay
at first I thought the owner was a little bit cool...... after I asked him some hiking information, I found that he is very nice and helpful. Clean and tidy. Big bathroom, big room and comfortable tatami. No cooking but u can use the dining room. I recommend it.
not near some hiking points and sightseeing place but only 7 mins walking distance from ferry port and 3 or 4 mins to bus stop.
The location is perfect! Directly at the ferry Terminal with a supermarket, all bus-stops and a car rental next door. The japanese-style rooms are large and very nice. But the best is the host Kenji: his service and friendleyness is absolutely outstanding! Without carging any money he drove us to some beaches, provided a very nice nightly fire-flies tour and gave us rides to go shopping and reach our trailhead for hiking at 5 am (!!). Beside this, you can book an absolutely amazing full-evening sea-turtle Tour with him! All in all just a great place to stay!
Kenji was very helpful with figuring out buses, places, supplies, etc. You can tell he loves the island and cares about helping visitors have a great experience there. (He also does a terrific night tour.) The location is ideal, especially for people who plan to rely on walking and the bus -- it's right up the street from Miyanoura Port and a bus stop, and it's directly across from a supermarket. The tatami rooms are clean, bright, and fresh, with plenty of room for solo travelers or couples. My room had a nice cross-breeze. Free laundry downstairs was handy. Though the bathrooms are shared, there are only four rooms and there are two bathrooms (separated by gender), so I never had to wait. Wi-Fi worked fine (I was streaming Netflix before I went to sleep.) I'd gladly stay here again.
Practical if you really need to stay very near the port of Miyanoura. Bathroom is fine, yukata and towels included
The person who attended us was unprofessional, dirty and smelled of beer at check in. He was sleeping on the couch of the small common room during the whole morning at check out time (10:00) The minshuku was also rather dirty. I do not recommend going to this place!
Can't beat the location - all you need is close by (ferry, bus, supermarket, tourist info)
Place was not clean (which stands out in Japan)
Very good location.you can walk from the port take only few minutes. Near bus stop and Big supermarket just accross the street!
Run by a warm and friendly family!
The property was very near to the terminal of ferry. The room was clean. The owner was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was great. The owner cocked himself! The bath and toilet we shared were clean and new. We talked a lot with the owner. The property is about 3 years old. He recommended us how to go to the places we wanted to visit.
Maybe that will be an idea to dry the bath towels where the wash machine was.
Everything is perfect.
Very clean. bath setup was nice. Shared bathroom was good. Sink separate out side the toilet area. Shared refrigeration was good too.
Don't think they had internet. No breakfast was provided even for the additional fee. Staff could have been friendlier however maybe it is because of the language barrier.
This minshuku's location is quite good. It is really close to the harbour and to the tourist center, plus there are two bus stops nearby (the island's bus system is not really reliable, though). The tatami rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owners were often absent to a fault, but when they were there they were invaluable to our trip, driving is to necessary places, renting us hiking equipment at a discount and finding us a guide. They were nice people (especially if you can speak Japanese) but I would definitely essays them in advance to ensure they meet you when you arrive in first place!
The location is excellent, close to the ferryport, bus stop to get to the sights around the island, souvenir shops and supermarket, and not far to walk into the town for bars and restaurants.
Nice and quiet minshuku very close to port, bus stops and supermarket. I enjoyed my stay there.
Only one toilet available. Requested non-smoking room but entire place smelled. My mattress also smelled a bit like pee.
Top location (7min walk from ferry port, 5min to bus stop). Very friendly and helpful owner. Early morning bento service for our hiking tour was great!
Great location (easy access to the ferry, a supermarket, and the bus to get to hiking trail heads), knowledgeable staff (as them about hiking in the area) and clean and comfortable space.
Decent hotel, nice informations for trails.
We booked this hostel because we read in the critics that the staff was very nice and helpful. Even if nothing really went wrong, it was also far from being outstanding. Welcoming was cordial, but nothing more, and we felt a bit like strangers in the house. Only one person was at the reception during these two days, so maybe he was a bit busy but still, we have been really disappointed and we didnt feel like guests at all.
The staff was friendly and helpful. They took us to a festival in town and drove us to an onsen and on a night tour to see baby sea turtles. Their English isn't great, but you can still understand what they're trying to stay, and they really try to communicate. I would definitely recommend them!
