Loved the clean clean room with bathroom...loved the bath...loved the food. Great location...
We liked everything...
Loved this hotel - the food was absolutely fantastic - well worth the extra money, it was devine. We had the Japanese dinner and the western breakfast and both completely surpassed our expectations. The shared bathroom could be locked, so we had to wait a little until we could have a bath, however it was well worth the wait - the hot tubs were amazing. The beds on the floor were surprisingly comfortable. A little hard for our tastes, but not any worse than a hard bed.
It was a long walk from the ferry to the hotel - about 15 mins, and because we had luggage it seemed to go on for ages. Would have appreciated a shuttle bus. This is our only complaint though and if we hadn't brought all our luggage it wouldn't have been a problem.
The whole experience was fabulous. Bath is amazing but the food is outstanding. You must order breakfast and dinner, you won't be dissapointed
Very friendly and supportive host, with good English language knowledge. Due to a Taifun we decided to leave the island in the evening instead of the next morning. As we discovered that the island has no taxi service in the evening, the owner gave us a ride to the ferry terminal. The meal quality, dinner is excellent and also breakfast (but I never got used to the Japanese breakfast style) Many little courses and one better than the next. Friendly staff who explains each course. You can choose between Japanese or a more international breakfast. Spacious room, free good working WiFi, toilet and lavatory in the room but no shower ;-)
This futon bed was not really comfortable, it had a top layer out of some synthetical material, hence the body could not really breath. As there are strong street lamps outside the room was quite lighted over night.
Friendly staff, excellent sleeping accommodation and wonderful dinner and breakfast dining.
Both Japanese and Western style breakfast are very good. Served at the table
Just a warning: We aware at Miyajima that most places close at around 18:00. Only some restaurants are open in the evening. When we were there, there was a que but we did get a dinner. Reservation at the hotel is an option but we didn't try the dinner at the hotel.
Clean Good food Friendly staff
No bathroom in the room
Loved the meals:they were gorgeous and plentiful, better than the onsen we stayed at in Hakone. The room was beautiful and immaculate. We liked that it was a bit out of the way, not with the other hotels, but then it was initially harder to find. We were the only guests. I believe as we saw no others over our three night stay. We used our JR rail passes for Hiroshima day trip and loved coming back to Miyajima to stay.
Would have loved an in room bath/shower. But this was more traditional I believe!
Lovely people and nice rooms, with a shared bath tub. Had the half board option which was wonderful.
It was right at the end of town, opposite the aquarium, which while not a problem, felt a little bit removed from the centre. We were the only guests which was a shame for such lovely people and service. Booking com showed it as booked up for the following night which it didn't seem to be. Perhaps ring directly to check.
I liked the breakfast they prepared. There was no private bathroom but there was a private toilet. The bathroom with onsen was very clean and we didn't see other guests so it was not a problem. The owner was very accommodating. It was a nice short walk to the shrines and the Torii gate. I like sleeping on the futons. The ro bes and pajamas they provided are fresh and clean.
I can't really think of anything I didn't like.
Very comfortable with great service. Would recommend.
the whole experience they were very helpful
nothing, we will be back.
Building, rooms, proprietor, effort in presentation and cooking of breakfast.
Sadly no room service for which the proprietor apologised.
Perfect location to stay when in Miyajima, close to the Tori Gate and away from the tourist area. Island is easily walkable anywhere. Staff were amazing, included dinner and breakfast was perfect and very tasty. Shared bathroom tubs (couples can use them both in private) was great. Get a taxi from ferry port when you arrive to get your bearings. We also got free rice scoop gifts on departure!
very nice style
no car to pick up and far away from station
Mizuhasou is easy to find(opposite the Aquarium), the rooms are comfy, the food was the best we had on the whole trip and every single staff member extremely welcoming, they work really hard to offer you an authentic and unique experience, I just wish I had brought a little gift from the UK for them.
Room was nice and big, the dinner was great (we had two dinners there) and the owner was friendly. The baths were nice (but not really what I think of as onsen, just big round stone bathtubs).
You're not allowed to use the baths in the morning, you can only shower. The dining room was not particularly atmospheric, which took something away from the food I think. I liked the Japanese breakfasts, but my husband less so. And it is a bit of a trek from the ferry, so try to take as little luggage as you can.
Room was spacious and nicely decorated, Futon beds were really comfortable, Soaking tubs were great, Food was delicious
A little far from the Ferry
Very good ofuro. The hotel is in a very quiet place. The woman in reception speaks a very good english and it was a very pleasant stay.
Mizuhasou is a new, very handsomely designed combination ryokan hotel. The room was bright and spacious with large windows on two sides. The entrance of the room was western with carpeted floor and desk area and then a step up to a tatami floored sleeping area with futon. Very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Meals which were served in the small restaurant downstairs were wonderfully delicious and lovely to behold. Service was always friendly and helpful, and the inn was impeccably clean. The location was likewise excellent only a few minutes walk from Itsukushima shrine, but on a quiet street away from the busy tourist route.
Very nice room. Old style but with modern inspiration. Very nice rotenburo outside the room. Perfect japanese breakfast. Very friendly staff
a bit far away from the Ferry if you have heavy luggage
Everything. Even great advice about where to eat and when.
Breakfasts, traditional baths, comfortable futons, beautiful room, wonderful/friendly staff, location... EVERYTHING!
You have to stay there. And please do take the half board option. It is worth it!!!
That i could not have stayed there longer.
The dinner meal was excellent. The staff were kind.
The food smell could sometimes be smelled at the staires area.
