Loved the meals:they were gorgeous and plentiful, better than the onsen we stayed at in Hakone. The room was beautiful and immaculate. We liked that it was a bit out of the way, not with the other hotels, but then it was initially harder to find. We were the only guests. I believe as we saw no others over our three night stay. We used our JR rail passes for Hiroshima day trip and loved coming back to Miyajima to stay.

Would have loved an in room bath/shower. But this was more traditional I believe!

Lovely people and nice rooms, with a shared bath tub. Had the half board option which was wonderful.

It was right at the end of town, opposite the aquarium, which while not a problem, felt a little bit removed from the centre. We were the only guests which was a shame for such lovely people and service. Booking com showed it as booked up for the following night which it didn't seem to be. Perhaps ring directly to check.

I liked the breakfast they prepared. There was no private bathroom but there was a private toilet. The bathroom with onsen was very clean and we didn't see other guests so it was not a problem. The owner was very accommodating. It was a nice short walk to the shrines and the Torii gate. I like sleeping on the futons. The ro bes and pajamas they provided are fresh and clean.

    I can't really think of anything I didn't like.

Building, rooms, proprietor, effort in presentation and cooking of breakfast.

Sadly no room service for which the proprietor apologised.

Perfect location to stay when in Miyajima, close to the Tori Gate and away from the tourist area. Island is easily walkable anywhere. Staff were amazing, included dinner and breakfast was perfect and very tasty. Shared bathroom tubs (couples can use them both in private) was great. Get a taxi from ferry port when you arrive to get your bearings. We also got free rice scoop gifts on departure!

Mizuhasou is easy to find(opposite the Aquarium), the rooms are comfy, the food was the best we had on the whole trip and every single staff member extremely welcoming, they work really hard to offer you an authentic and unique experience, I just wish I had brought a little gift from the UK for them.

Room was nice and big, the dinner was great (we had two dinners there) and the owner was friendly. The baths were nice (but not really what I think of as onsen, just big round stone bathtubs).

You're not allowed to use the baths in the morning, you can only shower. The dining room was not particularly atmospheric, which took something away from the food I think. I liked the Japanese breakfasts, but my husband less so. And it is a bit of a trek from the ferry, so try to take as little luggage as you can.

Mizuhasou is a new, very handsomely designed combination ryokan hotel. The room was bright and spacious with large windows on two sides. The entrance of the room was western with carpeted floor and desk area and then a step up to a tatami floored sleeping area with futon. Very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Meals which were served in the small restaurant downstairs were wonderfully delicious and lovely to behold. Service was always friendly and helpful, and the inn was impeccably clean. The location was likewise excellent only a few minutes walk from Itsukushima shrine, but on a quiet street away from the busy tourist route.

    No complaints.

Free wifi, staff very helpful and flexible, great Onsen bath. All in all a nice experience for us having a first time night in a Ryokan

Price Japanese style breakfast was rich but some of the food not fully fresh anymore, i.e. had been standing on the table for some time before we arrived

Nice room, very clean, all amenities provided, nice food experience.

Not very close to the ferry, avoid coming with luggage. They could have told us they had the means to prepare a western breakfast, we didn't know but would have prefered it, after a few mornings of rice-soup-fish. No onsen. There's a japanese bathtub but I didn't like it as much.

Rooms and Bathroom are spacious, comfortable and very stylish. Only 2 bathrooms, but it was worth it... I finally didn't even have to wait. Ryokan 20 minutes far of the ferry terminal, but 'Malpe Liner' shared-taxi service drives you to the aquarium in 9 minutes (watch out time table). Great staff.
