Score from 342 reviews Excellent
Room was spacious. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. Quint and retro hotel off the main road. Hotel was a style of its own. NICE! Would definitely stay here again! Thank you.
Cannot order dinner after 6 pm
Shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station was excellent. Ambience of the hotel was delightful. Staff were so pleasant and willing to help.
Bathroom was very small and storage space was limited.
helpful staff organised with local taxi company and part ranger for us to climb Mt Fuji Really excellant meal of authentic Japanese dishes Our room had a great view over thae lake and across to Mt Fuji Collected and dropped us off at the airport
We liked everything
The staff are excellent, the room is big though the bathroom is too small. Tatami is very nice.:) and the bikes are very convenient for the lake round tour.
Check out time is as early as 10am! I even didn't have time to brush my teeth. And the shuttle bus between the bus station are limited, so we had to take a taxi before the reception closed.
The view, the staff, the room, everything. I suggest hiring a car to get around kawaguchiko and surrounding areas.
Affordable, and on the retro bus line. Nice bar, and private roof spas. Staff happy to help order pizza if you can't eat thier food. Staff had servicable english.
Fuji View and nice, polite staff
Location, though on a steep hill, pick up and drop off service from the train station. View from balcony was great...we enjoyed our coffee in both mornings. Room and hotel are outdated, needs a facelift. Staff is very helpfull.
Outdated...carpet, furniture. Etc.
The location is nice with a view of the Fuji if you're lucky and it's sunny. The bedroom was ok, but not great in itself. We chose the traditionnal japanese room. The onsen is a nice idea if you come from a walk around the lakes and you want to relax.
THe wifi connection is rather unstable. The Onsen was definitely too hot. Traditionnaly, the temperature is supposed to be around 50 degrees, it was more than that. The greeting and the staff were not very nice once we told them we did not want to eat at the hotel. They came unexpected in the bedroom to make the futons, without even knocking on the door. In the morning we were woken up around 8, being told to speed up to free the room, even though the check-out time was at 11!
Stay, location, service
acess, limited food options
The staff was very welcoming. Good views of mt fuji. Liked using the bikes free of charge and for as long as you wanted.
Room smelt kind of damp, the lift shut on you when you was trying to get in.
Stuffs are very very nice. As i travelled along, the charming lady in the reception offer me a japanese breakfast and a ticket of the art museum. She gave me good suggestion for my trip as well. I was a very tired and sad. The stuff makes me feel warm. The food is excellent! I tried the japanese type diner and the japanese type breakfast.
The room is not very nice as the hotel is old.
View from the hotel room402 is excellent. Staff are very helpfull.
Location is not best for pubic transport and shopping. Hotel entrance from the main road is very narrow and steep. The room is a bit run down and stuffy.
We had a room on the 5th floor with a balcony overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko and Mount Fuji - absolutely stunning views. Very friendly staff at the front desk who were able to help with local information. It's quite far from the train station but there is a free shuttle bus from the tourist information centre who will call the hotel for you, and a free shuttle to town each morning
The room was quite small for the price (and especially the bathroom) - you are paying for the view it feels like more than the room
Its location gives it the unbeatable view of the Mt. Fuji and the lake that I don't think any hotel in the neighboring area can compete. There is a bus stop 5 mins down the slope. The deco in the room is surely romantic. Excellent dinner and breakfast offer. The staffs are friendly and kind.
The mattress is tooooo old and somehow the spring in it really bothers your sleep. It's a pity that a hotel like this should have mattress this terrible.
This was a friendly little hotel which I used a base for my overnight climb of Mount Fuji. In reality I didn't spend that much time at the hotel as I arrived and checked in only to head straight out for the overnight climb returning in the morning to then sleep for most of my second day. A big thank you to the staff who on my second night came to see me and offer me a free breakfast as I had a double room as a single traveler and it was a bit expensive. This was a very nice touch
I would really only recommend staying here if you are planning on doing Mount Fuji as there is little else to do in Kawaguchiko
Nice views to the lake and Mt. Fuji. Shuttle bus to the train station in the mornings. Friendly staff.
Very poor public transport acces. A very steep road to reach the hotel. Expensive
Fuji view from bedroom
The view was spectacular. Bikes were great.
Facilities need some refurbishing. Staff didn't understand the need for more than one cup of coffee at breakfast!
As the headline says - waking each morning to a view of Fuji and watching the sun set on it was a daily treat. Western style room and food made this an easy introduction to Japan. The public bathing facility added another dimension to our cultural experience. Polite, helpful and friendly staff eased any language difficulties we had (true in fact of our experience of the Japanese everywhere we went)
Location/balcony. Good view of Mountain Fuji.
Needed to climb a steep slope before reach to the hotel.
Perfect place for rest n relax, so quiet. Bonding moment with my family, indeed. So memorable. We plan to go back again here someday soon. #crossingfinger#
Staff was great. Very good English. Location was okay but the view was quite nice. No real complaints.
Amazing service, the staff we had were so helpful.
