Quiet, feel like at home, free transport to Onsen, to friends from different countries, nice price
To downtown on foot takes 20 minutes, this would not be suitable for those people who hate to walk too much
The host, Yuji, was very friendly and incredibly thoughtful. He has posted up helpful information everywhere around the lodge, and even lent us his own jacket and hat when it rained heavily on our first day there. The lodge itself was clean and comfortable - the futons there were probably the best beds we had in Japan. We were able to rent motor-assisted bicycles from Yuji and explore Nikko, which was much better than going on foot or by public transport, as you can go at your own pace without losing too much time. The walk to the lodge from the train station is easy and very scenic, and there are supermarkets and convenience stores within walking or biking distance.
Yuji the host makes this place special. Lots of knowledge, clean accomodations, and a family feel to the place makes this a great choice for the value minded traveller to Nikko. Next time we will try the onsen.
Small uphill hike from train station.
I like the location near the forest with monkeys, and 15 minutes walking to the station and the center, the staff was wonderful, breakfast was ok,the room was clean and comfortable I enjoyed very much
I thing I like everything and probably if I"ll come again to Nikko , I'll be glad to stay there. Have a nice day
The host was amazingly helpful and spoke good english. Drove us to the station when needed and gave beey clear and concise instructions on where we could get food and see attractions.
Yuki, the owner is very nice and very good take care. He has special in each night he took us to On-sen very love it!!!
The owner drove us to restaurant, convenient store, hot spring, and train station. The taxi fare from Tobynikko station to the hotel was only ¥750.
Beds were comfy. Slept GREAT here. (We had western beds with traditional buckwheat pillows, which I loved; hubby didn't.) If you arrive by train, have the tour desk call Yugi. (It's a small town, so they know Yugi. :) He will pick you up if he can. Very helpful! Yugi also helped us plan some really nice hikes/bus rides. We purchased the 4 day train/bus pass. Very nice. We enjoyed the walk to & from town. The bridge over the river is pretty. But that's us, we're fairly fit. The common room had free drinks, great music; access to a nice, big fridge & microwave. Nikko has a great grocery store, so you can eat economically, if you don't want to do restaurants. This is a Lodge, not a fancy hotel. Very pleasant, cozy place to stay. Nikko is a gorgeous, lovely place to visit, with lots to do. Thank you, Yugi, for a great visit! The Morrisson Family
A LITTLE noisy with upstairs foot traffic, but it was a courteous group while we were there. There wasn't really noise after 10 pm, till about 8 am. Wasn't a fan of the bathrooms, but we didn't go to Nikko to hang out in the bathrooms. :)
The owner is very helpful, he upgraded my parents and my room to the biggest family room as it was empty on our visit. He even drove us to a restaurant which served awesome yuba, and to the station in the morning as it was pouring heavily.
a little long walk from the station, but the directions are clear and the view along the way is awesome.
Everything is great! I really love staff and facilities.
Wi-fi, one thing that I can tell, was a bit poor.
Yuji-san, the owner, was very accomodating. He speaks very good english and gave us tips about sightseeing places in Nikko. The place had a very homey feel which made us relax after a tiring day of sightseeing. There was also free hot beverages. Yuji-san was also very kind for giving us a ride back to Tobu Station the next morning. If I ever go back to Nikko, I will book again at this lodge!
The location was a 15 minute walk from Tobu Station. If you don't want to walk, you can take a taxi right in front of the station and just tell the driver the name of the lodge. The fare was only 770 yen
Cozy and warm ambience with nice view. Cool landlord who is so thoughtful by leaving cute notes everywhere and preparing coins for guests to phone him. Free ride to onsen at 8pm.
Quite far from Nikko station (Tobu Nikko station is nearer but you still have to walk so hard as Nikko is mountainous city).
Located 15 minutes’ walk from JR Rail station. Situated on a hill in the middle of nature. Owner is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Good size rooms with A/C and lots of storage. Well-equipped communal living space.
Yuji, the owner is very helpful and there is free tea and coffee all day.It is clean and comfortable and only 10 minutes walk from the town, 20 to the shrines and temples.
The manager is very nice and helpful
Narusawa lodge is a very great place to stay and discover Nikko and the montain. The house is very well located and Yuji is an amazing hoste he is very helpfull and very nice. We had a wonderful time in here it is very peacful and the vew is great. Thank you yuji for eveything ! Agathe and Oscar
The host offers to drive you to a nearby onsen every evening, likes to speak english and likes to speak with people from oder countries very much :)
Yuri took us to onsen explained where to go shopping in detail
Wifi connection is bad upstairs
The staff is very friendly. They recommended you thing to do in Nikko. The room are ckean and the showers too.
the owner was really kind and willing to help you. we could check in earlier and he drove us to the station the day after cause we were late.. thank you!!
It is reasonably close to town. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The internet was excellent, and the free beverages were nice, but the best thing was Yugi our host! He picked us up at the train station during a pouring rain, took us to an ATM and to an incredible supermarket to get dinner, and drove us back to the train the next morning! Thank you Yugi!!! And you can't beat the value. This was the least expensive place we stayed during our two weeks in Japan!
The landmarks on the map were hard for us to find, so be sure to clarify the directions in advance. Fortunately, the young woman in the tourist office at the train station was very helpful, and she phoned Yugi.
The hotel host (Yu-Ji san) is a nice person, and I am very impressed by his lodge and very appreciated his kindness. Hotel room is large and quiet, nearby a river, so you can hear the river, thus I felt so relaxed while sleeping. To sum up, it's a worthy choice to stay here, small but sweet lodge. Truely I will recommend to my friends.
Very good accomodation with japanese-style rooms. Yuji is really a nice person and we suggest Narusawa Lodge to every Nikko visitor. Arigatou gozaimasu!
The lodge is an exellent place to visit Nikko. Good value for money. Quiet and clean. Sleep on Japanese beds. The owner is friendly and helpfull
Everything was great: took time give us helpful tips and local information, offered free ride to local onsen - would stay there anytime again! Highly recommemded.
