The room smelt of smoke despite being 'non smoking' the air conditioning barely worked The bed was uncomfortable and every expense had been spared in not providing a decent mattress The hotel was very expensive and poor value for money The foyer was full of smokers and the atmosphere polluted
- Smokers in the lobby -
Room space is amazing in Kyoto
There are several stairs at lobby entrance, and it's not so easy to move the baby stroller everytime.
Location, location, location!!! 3 minutes walk from Kyoto station!
Air conditioner was not working well:((
The location (across from Kyoto station) was very convenient and the price of this hotel was much lower than for hotels nearby. The lower price didn't seem to result in low quality, as our double room was clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and had quality air conditioning and wifi.
Very good vfm. Quite classic hotel right next to railway station.
Itwas extremely convenient, right by the Kyoto main station! And I booked it in ca. 3 minutes. I highly recommend it for a one day stay, maybe if you are worried about getting to the station on getting from the station to the hotel. For where it is, the price is really good. I think we had discount. I traveled withmy father.
Uhn, well if I had been on my own, it would have felttoo expensive and there are similarly close hotels/guesthouses that are much cheaper. It dependa on your price class really. Also, I am still a student.
Right location as closer to main transportation station
The air condition is bad. The room is hot
they give you only one key which is needed to power the room. our neighbors across the hall would use the door latch to keep the door open when they leave and let the door SLAM shut. very disturbing.
The location across from the JR Kyoto station was excellent, and convenient to get to all sites and neighbourhoods all over Kyoto and the surrounding area. The rooms were standard but the beer garden on the rooftop was also fantastic.
Staff were friendly but not very helpful. They lost our room key and it took 3 staff to finally find it.
Location to all types of transport and walking distance to shops and shrines.
The room we had was at the back of the hotel and the window would not open. Plus the air conditioning was not up to scratch so could be warm.
Location was just about perfect within two or three minutes of train and bus stations and also many restaurants and shops. We had a twin bedroom (not the basic level) with a little more space. It was comfortable with a small table and two chairs by the window. Staff were very friendly and responded happily to a smile and a halting japanese word or two.Facilities were adequate and typically Japanese, again something we are accustomed to. If you don't like macha there is a convenience store over the road that sells coffees etc. As in most Japanese hotels there is little drawer space or for suitcases but we tend to live out of the suitcase and don't pack and unpack.
No coin laundry but we are fairly experienced travellers and use drip dry non iron clothes as a matter of routine.
Location is good, English speaker Staffs.
Excellent location just in front of the Kyoto station where you can take a lot of buses and the Shinkansen.
You couldn't ask for a better location, just cross the street from Kyoto train station and you are in the hotel. Also you can reach the underground mall from the hotel entrance.
The breakfast is ok, but a little bit pricey for what it is, and if you are staying several days, you will get tired of it. My recommendation is try to find another place to eat breakfast. In the corner of the street there is a coffee shop were you can buy coffee and a sandwich for breakfast, if you want something more substantial there is food court in the underground mall that is a few steps from the hotel door. (Try the takoyaki shop inside the food court or there is a small shop that prepare sushi to-go and after 7 or 8pm they put it on sale, so you can eat really good sushi for half the price)
Breakfast was not good enough compare with the cost 2,160 jpy per head
Close to railway station. Good value.
the location value for money
nothing much to dislike at this price for japan
great location, clean, english speaking staff
The location is a fantastic base, it is just opposite Kyoto Station and our room has got an awesome frontal view of Kyoto Station at night. The size of the room which we bought was good and the amenities provided: nightgown, torchlight, shoe shine, thermopot for water heating, air purifier.. the toiletries range were the best I found so far travelling to many countries. It includes lady set (cotton, hair band), razor, toothbrush/paste, even a sponge which you can use for your body but we used it for our eating utensils :) . Iron can be requested and they will deliver to you in cute iron compartment (never see this before in other places). Wifi is good and can be used on many devices.
The bed was ok but what I noticed that the pillow was a little too small. But this is not just the case for this hotel..other Kyoto hotels I went were also same so it may just be typical Japanese pillow size. I share my pillow with my toddler so it was quite uncomfortable at first, and we did not attempt to call room service for extra pillow so I did not know if they will entertain us. Also it lacked a room safe, so we had to hide our tablet from view while going out Thirdly, the hotel served only green tea but again, this is typical on all Kyoto hotels that we went so it's all OK, just something we want to share with booking.com readers to prepare your own coffee sachet from home or buy from convenience store Finally, my husband thought the toilet bidet is too hot. It has all the Japanese style toilet functions (including able to adjust water strength) but unable to adjust water temperature. We never seen other locations able to adjust temp either, but I am OK with the temp..only my husband did not
2 minutes across the main Kyoto Station, great location, good value. Near Yodobashi bldg :-)
Great Location, convenient for leisure and food . right across the bus terminal -the life of transport of the city
Location is very handy to get around, just across the road to the stations and bus stops. There are malls, coffee shops, supermarkets, convenient stores nearby. Helpful stuffs and clean.
