Reiah Hotel Otsu Ishiyama  

Space. What a big twin room. The biggest we stayed in Japan. The most advanced coin laundry. Breakfast eggs.

Strange odor in hallway and bathroom.

There are a lot of restaurants around the hotel operating till late night. Food are value for money in some of these restaurants. Hotel is near to subway but need to change train to get to Kyoto main station.

Nice buffet breakfast, located near to Train station, clean room.

Nice hotel and very easy to find it, staff are friendly. Even it is not near Kyoto, but only 15 mins JR. May come back in future!!

The facilities in room seems little bit old but not a problem.

Convenient to Kyoto for much less than the cost of accomodation in Kyoto. The complimentary breakfast was nice.

Directions to the hotel were not clear. We thought we could get off at Otsu station but in fact had to go to Ishiyama station.

It is near train station. Hotel very clean. Peaceful area. The weather was too cold for us during our stay but with appropriate clothings I like the coldness.

1 double room very small. 1 triple room,had an unpleasant stay on the 2nd night. Came back from Kyoto, tired, the staff didn't allow us to sleep unless we pay 30000 yen for part of the damaged caused to the wall because we moved the extra bed. There was a small dent but my brother-in- law said he did not know who caused the dent. Just because we moved the extra bed they said we caused the dent. But it is also possible the housekeeping people caused it. In the end we had to pay 10000 yen before we can sleep.

The rooms are very clean. The location just across Ishiyama station is excellent to visit Kyoto.

The rooms were too warm and airco was not switched on at the time we were visiting.

- The complementary breakfast was great. Curry rice was the best and most popular of all dishes. It's a good start for a long day's visit to other places. - free wifi access from room is very much convenient. - location is perfect, just beside a few restaurants and near to train station. - staffs are friendly and helpful. They helped to take care of our luggage at no cost after we checked out and went to kyoto.

Value stay in Kyoto area. 10mins to Kyoto station

JR West Pass holder need pay 190yen extra for each ride to Ishiyama by JR

Staff able to speak English and very helpful.

Need more tables and chairs for breakfast.

Close commuting distance to Kyoto (<20 min). Very clean and more contemporarily designed than other Japanese business hotels. Basic but sufficient Japanese/western mixed breakfast buffet. Plenty of convenience stores, smaller restaurants and a grocery store in the neighbourhood.

Room very cold, ~16 degC (had corner room). Heating could not be used since another guest on the floor used the aircon and systems were somehow connected (!). Front desk staff did not speak suffiecent English to help situation,only offered an extra blanket.

Comfy bed and nice breakfast.

The bathroom was tiny and the laundry area had no instructions in English.

Was a great location close to train station and the breakfast was nice. The laundry was good too.

No Wifi in rooms although they advertise it.

Friendly staff, very good rooms, breakfast was included, close to train stations, 10 min from Kyoto station by train.

Reiah has non-smoking rooms that, unlike other Japanese hotels I have stayed in the past, do not smell cigarette. That is to be expected but it is not Very conveniently located; transportation and food wise.

The room is very small.

The elevator sometimes gives a very strong smoke odour, especially if it stops on the smoking floors (4th Floor). Would be good idea if there is freshener put up there.

Clothes washer and dryer.

Check out time rather early at 10 am.

The staff are friendly and helpful to give us extra blankets and pillows as our children stayed with us in the same double room. Rooms are very clean with free wifi at the lobby. Location is really convenient directly beside the train station. The breakfast was a perfect combination of Japanese and Western food, simple yet sufficient for us as a family. Near a supermarket and also good & value for money japanese restaurants around. Short walk to the lake where fishing (catch & release) can be enjoyed.

Best location next to Train station. The room rate is value for money with complimentary BF. Room and bed size is more comfort compare Tokyo hotel in very clean condition.

There's no wifi in room however wifi at lobby can compensate somehow.

Great location just outside centre of Kyoto, good access on train - just as quick as being in centre but without the congestion. Plenty of local restaurants.

Good location, just beside the JR station. Very close to Kyoto. Good breakfast.

English language skills at reception should be better. They don't know, if they have wi-fi, so just try it at the lobby.

L'hôtel se situe à 1 minute de la gare d'Ishiyama,donc à 15 minutes du centre de Kyoto. On trouve aux alentours de nombreux restaurants pour tous les budgets.

L'hôtel surplombe un carrefour assez passant et les chambres ne disposent pas de double vitrage.Par conséquent les bruits de la rue sont très gênants et le confort dans les chambres donnant sur la rue est très mauvais.Bouchons d'oreilles obligatoires...
