The staff were wonderful. They were extremely friendly and helpful and very patient with our limited Japanese. They tried to you English whenever they could, which was really sweet. The room was beautiful and traditional, and the onsen was very pretty. I've stayed at Ryokan advertising an onsen before as been disappointed by the look of it, but this one had a very nice relaxing atmosphere.

There were quite a few bugs around. They were mostly small fruit flies or something similar. They hung out mostly in the stair well. There were only a few in the room, which we sprayed with bug spray that we brought with us. The ryokan is in the mountains surrounded by nature, so I suppose it's to be expected. Still, I wish they would at least install screens in the stairwell windows, or keep them closed. We also had a visitor in our room in the form of a wasp. No idea how it got in.
