friendly staff,clean room,nice kitchen,worth of money
the closest subway station about 500m
Very close to Kyoto station 3 bus stops to be exact. Catching the 205,17 or 4. Good for sight seeing in that sense. Overall a pleasant stay. Wifi is only 100 yen. Very cheap and comfortable! :)
Worth it to stay there if u want to find budget hostel. The futon (bed) is nice to sleep not so dusty. got all the basic need like wifi, towel, hot shower, kitchen, laundry and etc.
At first it hard to find the place. The television need to put coin inside but still not function (not so big issue because got wifi).
Comfort of traditional Japanese bed
Cleanliness, poor welcoming for owner even tough it was polite
The location is good with less than 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. The ryokan is spacious and clean. The futon is so comfortable with extra blanket and comforter provided. Good value of price and facilities eg. Kitchen and laundry.
Stairs was quiet narrow which is quite difficult to access especially with luggage.
the experience in general was positive
cleanliness of bed
- relatively big room for japanese standards - laundry machine and dryer available - easy to find, when You finally get the hang of how to move around Kyoto - good location
- the lady who took care of the ryokan during the day sounded like she doesn't want to be bothered
Peaceful location in residential area about 20 minutes walk from Kyoto Station. Wifi available for 100 yen covered the whole period that we stayed.
A bit far from supermarket and places to eat. Steep staircase not convenient for big luggages but this is typical old Japanese house in which we wanted to try.
absence of common areas. accomodation a bit pricey for what it is.
Cleaning every day Big room Wlan in room for 100 yen for the whole stay (ask for it when you pay in the beginning!)
Saw the owner only once for paying and getting the key in the beginning only one shower
+Close to railway station-15 walk walk or 2 bus stops +japanese style rooms +very quiet neighberhood at the riverside +clean
-small house may be difficult to find in the neighberhood, but if you remember that it is located just at the riverside of takase river/stream, there should be no problem
This Ryokan is small just a few rooms, and therefore quiet. The owner is a good man, and the location really worked, a short taxi ride to Kyoto Station and Gion where we spent most of our time. Kiyomizudera temple is close to Gion too, which is a must see, and the adjacent streets are really nice.
It is located in a quiet compound and is quite convenient for public transportation. The room size is okay for 2 people, and it is overall very clean. I would recommend friends to stay here
The house owner is living next door, so it does not have a front desk like a hostel. We dare not ask Qs for tourist info, etc because there is no host person...
The location was quite good, as Kyoto is a small city you can reach almost any place by foot. The room was kind of spacious.
I never met such an impolite. rude and unkind tenant. We didn't feel welcome there, the lady barely spoke to us. When we arrived she took the money and gave us the key. That's it. Plus we had to knock at her door again because we had to pay for the wifi, she looked annoyed and barely opened the door, after we paid she didn't say anything and closed the door. There are many cheap places in Kyoto way better than this one, i would not recommend it except if you like impolite people.
Liked cleaning the room every day, the hotel's location on the banks of the river, near the center.
Did not like very loud cicadas at night, as if there is a repair of the road. Far from the subway. Wash, use of the kitchen and the rest is only available until 23:30 and you can not do it in the afternoon. Internet only on an ancient computer. Paid TV. Steep stairs to the second floor to the rooms. Does not work card acceptance Visa, who are working in other places, we had to pay cash.
The room was comfortable and well kept.
House was old and the dust aggravated my sons allergies.
One shower for all guests to share (up to 4 rooms)
This bnb house is located besides the Takase River, which is the river I love most in Kyoto. Good location, a little distance from Gion (about 15 min's walk), but it's quiet and the buses are covenient. The host is nice and ready to help. Room is suitable, and feels like a real Kyoto home.
No oil in the kitchen, so it would not be easy to cook.
The owner requires you check in by ringing the bell at her front door of her own house (next door to the accommodation), and the attitude stinks. Very un japanese and quite disinterested. Very surprised that this place scores so highly.
can feel the Japanese style of living.
Just a bit far from Kyoto station, so it is a bit inconvenient if bring along younger children, and even some taxi driver can't find the hotel.
good price spacious room
staff was in the house next door
Mostly we liked the convenient and beautiful location place and style as an old rayokan of the room.
Traditional Japanese rooms. House located in pleasant and silent area. Clean, excellent value for money.
