The bus stop and a bus centre for questions was 5 minutes away. So was a convenience store and a shinto shrine, as well as two free foot baths. Going to Africa Safari takes 20 minutes and Beppu 15 minutes by bus. We had a sink to use in our room.

The toilet is shared with other guests.

Excellent assistance from the staff even with a some degree of language barrier (English). Outdoor onsen was quite enjoyable in the morning.

Remote for the AC/heater unit had no English translation for primary buttons.

Staff was thoughtful. Food was delicious. I saw rather than enjoyed the rotemburo due to heavy rain. I would stay here again.

    Location, room size

The time slots allocated for male to use their hot spring. It is more friendly to female btw. Their hot spring closed as early as 8am and last until 3pm. The food served is poor/cheap quality.

This ryokan is really close to main sightseeing places ( jigokus) It's a bit old but you will like it cause staffs here are really kind and they take you to the station and pick you up in the station to the ryokan as well if you call them. Staffs can speak Korean and English as well.

It's a bit old ryokan. Female (was in the basement) and male public path(was outside) is changing everyday like other ryokans in Japan. But it's a bit cold and the water is a bit hot ( I think this is because water from the ground is really hot you will see them very soon anywhere in beppu )

I found the true Japanese culture there, with a very comfortable room, wonderful hot springs, delicious meals and the best service.

We arrived, due to circumstances, very late in the evening. The staff was so friendly to stay awake for us, and let us check in by 00:30h! In their basement they have the most wonderfull hot spring (veryvery warm), which we could use together (male+female) the morning after (as of course, upon arrivel we went straight to bed!). I love this place!

The inn is situated on the outskirts of Beppu. We couldn't locate it at first, but the inn was kind enough to send someone to guide us to the place. We stayed in the annex building. The Japanese style rooms were comfortable and public bath areas are just next to the building. Dinner and breakfast were served in the room with a good spread of Japanese dishes. The lady who served us was very friendly and spoke simple English. She was the one who made our stay memorable.

The rooms seem to be a bit run down but comfortable. The air-conditioners in the room were not functioning too well. Fortunately the night was cool when we were there.
