Close to the JR station, about a 12min walk. Walking distance from Matsumoto Castle
Staff couldn't speak english but they were very helpful and it wasn't a problem at all
shared bathroom, we found it hard to find time when it was free to use.
The owner is nice and friendly. Though he cannot speak English but he has willing to listen and helpful.
The sound of the next room can hear clearly.
I had never been to a Ryokan and this was an awesome experience. It's really close to the train station, my room is very spacious and neat, the staff were great (I arrived past midnight and made check in with no problems).
free service to send guest by car to station. clean quiet
- quite nice and clean place; - reasonably spacious for the price;
- a few minutes further from the station that they claim (not a straight road) and not so easy to spot (they have some different building in the area and at first we were looking for someone in some storage area I think); - not many electrical outlets;
Friendly staff. Clean room and clean shared toilet and bath.
The staff were lovely and obliging. They went the extra mile for the 6 of us.
Very nice owners. Not speaking English, but so friendly that everything goes smoothly. Nice ryokan, shared between two buildings, with hot bath and very advanced washlets. Hot tea in the room. Comfy slippers. 7eleven around the corner.
Quite far from train station in the direction not convenient to anything. Way is quite dark but seems safe.
Very nice staff & Cleaniness room
Shower room should be seperate room.
I had a wonderful time relaxing in this accommodation, the bed was a futon bed but was plenty comfortable, and the room itself was spacious and airey. The room comes with a flat screen television, free wifi and a mini fridge. You get tea brought to your room every evening which was a fantastic little touch and just illuminated the fantastic nature and kindness of the owners. The owner is a wonderful guy who is keen to help you wherever possible, and his mother of 88 years is the most cheerful person I have ever met, worth the stay here itself. The location is around a kilometre from the station, honestly, if you find out it's location before arriving, it really isn't that difficult to find, and there are a couple of lovely tourist information ladies at the train station who can point you in the right direction. Set in the valley between the Japanese alps and next to a crystal clear river, couldn't of found a better spot to relax from the bustle of the main tourist areas.
Economic but good value for money. Room was small but sufficient, altough no ensuite bathroom. Complimentary tea in the room South of the city, 10 minutes from JR
Bath was not very clean and seemed half finished
It is more hostel-style but good value. WLAN worked fantastic, shower room can be locked for private use. No english spoken. For the cheap prize its a good experience. Walking distance to train station (10 min).
You can hear your neighbours cough. You need to rely on having quiet neighbors ;)
We really enjoyed stay in Matsukaze. Room was nice, clean and so confortable. Everybody there was friendly. We should stay longer there.
Gracious, helpful family managing the ryokan, including 89 yr.old Mom Comfortable, roomy rooms, access to free washing machine and drying room
no internet access in the "annex" rooms, necessary to go to the lobby of the main building
Good 2 night stay. We had a car and there were parking available. Not much English spoken but it was okay for us. Staff/owner was friendly and obliging. Quiet neighborhood.
Water temperature in the shared bath not hot enough for a good soaking.
Everything is great!! Highly recommended to all....
the biggest accomodation and cheaper in all my travel in Japan
Personal can´t speak a word of english
Nice clean Japanese style room, new facilities - toilets, shower etc. staff were very nice, check in hours is very flexible.
A little bit far from the city center.
This ryokan is relatively close the the JR station (under 13 minutes I believe), the room was clean. It had a modern air conditioner, a refrigerator, and green tea was provided. The shower room was clean & modern, with a quite hot bath/ onsen style tub available.
Like many ryokans, the walls are paper thin and we could hear the conversations from several rooms. Televisions are provided in the rooms & this adds to the sounds heard. Our room was near the reception desk, so we could hear a few more sounds. Like many places in Japan, smoking is permitted in the rooms and we could smell it from our room. The use of a drum to signal the clerk did not bother us but is not the quietest method available. Shower room is shared, so be prepared to be wait a bit. Our room was quite small, 5 tatami mats at most, all part of the value for money equation.
Kind staff Good price reasonable distance from main station
little bit difficult to find millipede was found in the bed room
So so clean, lovely, traditional, spacious rooms. They give you a nice yukata to wear and nice little teaset in the room. The staff are SO friendly and kind. They are very relaxed about check in and check out time, so welcoming. Highly recommend this place to everyone!!
Cheap Nice atmosphere
My personal preference is a western style hotel
Great location. Staffs are nice, friendly and very helpful.
