staff sooo friendly! had everything i needed, 6/7 nights slept like a baby except one night i got a brick for a pillow haha.. clean, quiet but bustling/friendly, just amazing location!!!!
Comfortable beds, excellent English speaking staff, great WiFi !!!, very good breakfast (though I saw some complaints comments about it, it was really good for us as an European style breakfast)
Location is good, though you have to take the metro every time you want to get out and this ads up in your budget.
- friendly staff and really convenient location
- bed was a little hard and uneven - could hear snorer in the room next to mine
Located 2 stations from Shinjuku station in a quiet residential area.
Wifi is kinda slow. They used to have cable internet in the past but that is gone now, sadly. The pillow was tiny.
Wonderful staff, a great location close to the subway and shinjuku. The rooms are small but for the price it is a bargain.
The breakfast is kind of poor.
Location Lots of eateries within 5 minutes walk from hotel at very reasonable prices. A big supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Staff speak good English and very friendly and helpful.
Room too small. Hardly any room to move. No place to put the luggage. Breakfast can be improved.
Easy to move around as so near to the city! Very clean. Very efficient & friendly & helpful staff!
No electric kettle in the room to boil hot water! Not convenient to run up & down the stairs for hot water!
Location, breakfast, friendly staff, nice warm shower
Sakura hotel is right in the middle of a lot of things to make the stay easier, train station, convenience stores, restaurants, dry cleaner etc. It's quite easy to get a train to Shinjuku from Hatagaya station and vice-versa. I met a few really cool foreigners there, but it was more that it allowed me to explore the city and meet a lot of Japanese locals easily as well.
There isn't much bad I can say about Sakura hotel. The rooms are a bit tiny and bed sometimes slightly uncomfortable, but you aren't in one of the greatest cities in the world to stay in a hotel room!
Very friendly staff. 2 coin operated washing machines and dryers on level 5. 3 min walk to Hatagaya station (Meiosis Line), 2 stops from Shinjuku station. 24hr café at the hotel. 24hr convenience store 100metres away.
convenient, clean, helpful staff. Basic and for Tokyo a fair price. Best for someone who just needs a place to crash and is not going to spend any time in the room.
The rooms are very very small, but clean and has pretty much what you need. But VERY tight space.
Clean. Near subway.
Tiny room with a double bed. Very basic breakfast. Was billed twice and told nothing could be done from their side. The amount was eventually refunded with no explanation.
The staff speaks very good English (something unusual in Japan). The hotel is two blocks from the train station, and there are several convenient stores and minimarkets very close to the hotel The staff is kind and helpful. They even helped with local phone calls translating everything for me. My wife lost and important item an had to communicate with the train station and the police, and the hotel stuff were like angels helping me with the communication. The stuff will help you with any request at any time. All the floors have a coin laundry and dryer machines. The room fridge is perhaps the biggest one I've ever seen in a Japanese hotel room. The place is quiet with clean rooms. The price is reasonable.
Bathroom not comfortable. Rooms are small. Old and small TV. Breakfast is mostly bread and there is no variety. Interesting places are far from the hotel, the closest ones are at 20 min walking, but you can take the train station which is very very close to the hotel.
Location Cleanliness Friendly atmosphere
The breakfast was nearly worthless. Just some sweet bread, butter and canned jam. Then some overly sweet juice and soup. It is really not worth the 350 jpy.
- Location 2 min from Hatagaya Station, from there 2 more stops to Shinjuku Station - Room quite spacious compared with many other hotels - Very nice and helpful, English speaking staff
Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel is really easy to find once you find your way to Hatagaya Station, it is really just around the corner. You can take a really peaceful walk to Yoyogi Park since it's only 45 minutes away through the pretty Shibuya area. While Hatagaya Station is not really central it does connect with Shinjuku Station (2 stops) so it is pretty decently located. Great last minute option for someone on a budget yet not willing to spend their stay in Tokyo in a dorm room.
Actual access to the hotel via subway is a nightmare if you have big suitcases. Hatagaya Station is on the Keio New Line, and to get to it you have to go down and up a lot of stairs (no scalators, no elevators) to transfer in Shinjuku Station. The rooms are tiny so even though there was room cleaning service daily I could not imagine someone going into the room and manouvering around one's stuff to clean. You cannot open your suitcase and walk through the room at the same time. The bed is kind of hard so if you're sensitive about that I would think twice about this hotel. It is more of a hostel, really, so don't expect anything fancy.
The Staff was very kind and is very helpful. They are also very good at English.
The room was a bit small but that really didn't bother me that much because I only used it for sleeping.
The staff speaks english and they have a lot of helpful maps to get around. There are also a few nice places to eat near by and the station is within a block of the hotel so its easy to get to.
The breakfast is a non breakfast since it consists of just bread and coffee. The wifi works on the bottom floor but is very weak on the 4th floor where we stayed.
Very good value for money Central location (short train travel to shinjuku or 15 min walk) Free wifi Lots of 24h open places to eat just and a convenience store just outside the hotel
Very small rooms (but you get what you pay for I guess) Poor wifi reception in the rooms but it´s free so hard to argue here.
I didn't like anything for the money what I hv paid for it is worth only $30 where as you hv chared us $100 kindly arrange for a refund
I didn't like anything from that hotel
-Economical -Two stop away from Shinjuku main station -Clean
-Wifi was not great from room
The hotel is located in a very nice area, the service is very good, I guess the service in Japan is marvelous everywhere and this hotel isn't the exception
Small room and internet signal sometimes doesn't work in the room properly but who cares I don't want to Facebook while I'm in the amazing Japan
Close to metro All staff speak excellently english Staff is extremely helpful to answer questions
WiFi reception in room was fickle Stale smell in the room
We absolutely loved our stay at Sakura. The location is very convenient, a short train ride to Shinjuku station. Very relaxed multi cultural atmosphere. Excellent facilities and very close to restaurants, convenient store, drug store, post office. We will definitely be back again!
