Score from 582 reviews Very good
stayed hostel dom room, 2 nights had lousy room-mate, other than that is fine.
location is in the shopping area, lots of restaurants around, quiet neighborhood, 5 mins to subway station. will sure stay here my next trip.
So close to everything and everybody is helpful and friendly!
Bed a bit hard for older bones
The helpfulness and courtesy
Best staff and best location with best price
Sufficient room space.
Not far from JR station. If u can take a short cut walk, very easy to back to hotel. Not deserted road, many people until midnight.
Staff not very friendly but not mean or anything just ok
Old but clean comfortable room
The bathroom was tiny, and the second bed was pretty hard.
The front desk was super helpful! I'd come back.
Located near by Ikebukuro Station. Nearby Halal restaurant Malaychan. Can put your luggage up to 15days
The dryer in laundry room need upgrading. 60 mins drying time still not able to get the clothes dried completely.
Garden walk led by Yuki was awesome , The excellent customer service by the staff of Sakura Ikebukuro especially 大地 Great location
Can be quite difficult to locate hotel
This was my first time trying dormitory-style hotel and I felt it was great! I would say it takes more than 5mins for me to locate this place so for first-timer, it can be challenging. So just follow the signage to 'West exit' and turn on your google map location setting (that's a trick when I don't have wifi or data with me) and it'll show you where you are so that you can take reference whether you're in the correct direction. My bunk has 3 double decker beds shared with people from all over the world: Canada, France, China and Thailand. It was great meeting them, and staying together feels like im in a university hostel, cosy. Room was clean, with sufficient space to place my luggage beside me. Bedsheets was given and we are supposed to make our own bed. Shared toilets and shower rooms was clean and for this price (¥7200 for 2N and booked quite last minute), there's really nothing to complain about! FYI shared kitchen is also available if you're planning to cook yourself. This shall kickoff my adventure staying in hostel for my future travel plans!
The room smelt very musty and when the window was opened it smelt as if someone had been smoking.
Clean and comfortable bed
the combination of their facilities make it value for money
At first, the room appeared confined for an extended stay like ours--11 nights. We adjusted and with every night, it became comfortable.
Staff was friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the scheduled Cherry blossom viewing with Yuka Arai and Tadashi Saito.
Wifi not strong enough in the room, though strong in cafe & lobby
Location with lots of eateries & minimarts nearby, reasonable breakfast at ¥350/ person. Common kitchen Luggage storage while we go other towns for short trip
A little far from Tokyo's main attractions (downtown).
Good location, clean, helpful staff.
The WiFi often cannot connect at all
A bit of smell in the room.
The pillow was very low, it was a challenge to fix the temperature of the water for shower.
The location is good, with 7 eleven just around the corner.
The wifi kept breaking off. They said it's because everyone in the hotel was using it at one time. We would just go to the lobby and use the fast wifi there.
Extremely close to Ikebukuro train station. They gave us a paper "guide" on how to get around using the JR Line. It showed the fastest (pricier) / slower (cheaper) routes via Ikebukuro station. Other side of the tracks (west) is basically a teenagers haven. Lots of fun things to do plus it's close to Sunshine City and Otome road. This is my second stay in a Sakura hotel (the other was in Hatagaya). Staff has always been good to me and location has been great so far.
Staff was very friendly, and the location was not too far from subways
I didn't like the other guests in our dormitory style room. They came in at 3am a few evenings in a row and were extremely inconsiderate of those who were trying to sleep. There should be a check in cut off to prevent this from future guests.
Location was convenient for inter-Tokyo traveling. And staff were eager to help should a problem arise.
Internet speed's pretty slow.
So disgusting - there was mold on the wall behind the pillow, hairs everywhere - like really yuck. I didn't brave the showers.
The staff were nice
Wi-Fi is really really bad.....
