Location is good, staff nice, good English and helpful. One word - Excellent. Value money, sure will stay again
- Value for money - Great and helpful staff, all fluent in english. - Location , 10 mins walk to JR station
Great facilities, welcoming drinks, terrace, and hot onsen. The service from the employees are excellent and unbeatable. Good coffee and cocktails from the bar. Near to Kyoto train station, groceries and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!
The breakfast buffet was quite empty at 9:30 (it closes at 10:00), and it was not filled up when we were there so we were a bit disappointed. There were a few dishes that we did not get to try at all. In the spa area there should be more English manual so it would be easy for travellers.
The rooms were big, quite spacious, all things were clean, new; Will recommend for people who do not mind walking a bit from the Kyoto :)
Not sure why sometimes we are asked to pay via the vending machines; And the staff did not tell us to, we got up to the room but then we were not able to open the room door. Had to get back and ask and still need to pay via the vending machines...
Good location, cleanliness, English speaking staff, tasty breakfast, welcome drink...
Drink , Very close to subway station
Not at the kyoto station
easily accessible location to famous places by public transit, free drink, public bath, kindness of staff, I'd like to stay this hotel again in next visit on Kyoto.
Location, facilities n hospitality
- Free wifi everywhere in hotel - not too far by walk from JR train
- Onsen not quite be attractive.
The staff were friendly and spoke good English, was even able to check in early as the iron was ready. The free tea and coffee in the bar during the day and welcome drink in the evening is a nice bonus. The room was modern and well appointed. The location was very convenient for the trains.
The meals aren't worth bothering with. The food was nice enough, but the portions are tiny and I don't even have a large appetite! Fortunately Kyoto station is only a 5 minute walk and has plenty of eating options. The room (a double) was spacious enough for me, but I think 2 people would have been a little cramped.
Big enough room Welcome drink Good breakfast Kind personnal Good location close to the train station, subway and busses
Not very good dinner Very slow WLAN connection A bit noisy because of the street nearby
The breakfast was excellent. The possibility to get one coffee during the whole day and to get a
free drink during happy hours. The room was a little bit too small.
public bath, free drinks and coffee corner
Lovely and comfortable hotel Free self serve laundry Pubic Bath 5-8min walk to Central station Subway right outside hotel Bus stop into town right outside hotel as well. Very Accomendating staff quick to answer your requests Spoke English Well
I couldn't dine at the breakfast buffet due to my gluten and dairy food allgies as the selection of food was limited.
1) Free flow drinks in the day (I.e. coffee & tea) with a variety. 2) they offered a drink (i.e. alcoholic, cocktail) 3) excellent service 4) comfort & clean
1) bed abit hard
The room size & how close it was to a subway station.
We like the daily welcome drinks and the laundry washing machines at level 4 that we can use for free. Laundry detergent are available for free too.
Room is small.
Friendly staff, good public bath, good breakfast and free welcome drink in the evening.
Room is rather small
General quality of service, room, public bath, welcome drink, size of room, proximity to public transport (5 minutes to train station by foot, right in front of metro station).
The double Room size is good for one person, might be too crowded for 2 people, but it might be common in Japan.
i Can't make a phone call in the room. Only allow guests to use their phone set at counter when i need to call.
The subway station was literally outside the door and the train just a few minutes walk away. A complimentary drink each evening was a nice touch.
The rooms are small but very clean and well appointed.
The breakfast line. Very. Nice. Comfybed
Too crowded onsen. But. Fine!
in easy walking distance from Kyoto Station dining room was also the reading room so there were always hotel guests about and easy to meet open bath was an interesting experience breakfast and dinner excellent and reasonably priced, chef came out to speak to guests
bedroom on the small side
Location is good, near the Kyoto Station and bus stop and subway stations. We loved the free welcome drink every night where we could sit and chill out to plan our itinerary next day.
Location was excellent, short walk to main station and well connected to all tourist sites by the city bus system (get the day bus pass). The candle-lit lounge area with the all-day coffee/drinks facilities is a great place to relax or chat with friends. Quite good international food, too. Rooms were spacious (for Japan) and reasonably recent in design. Didn't try the onsen or breakfast, but they're there if you need them, and other guests said they were good. Overall, the hotel contributed to a good Kyoto visit and we enjoyed our stay.
Really quite expensive for what you get, compared to anywhere in the world (including most major capitals). Not this hotel's fault per se as all Kyoto accommodations are expensive, and we booked last minute, but still, I cannot justify the price point relative to the hotel's design/services/amenities etc. That said, if you can get a good deal, I would not hesitate to recommend staying at Sakura Terrace.
