Great place to stay. Great kitchen and dining area, rooms good size, very comfortable, quiet, clean and safe, and nice hot baths! Wide range of really useful and intereseting literature available. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming and provided useful information about the local area. I highly recommend !
This is the place to set aside time to unwind and chat in English to the owners for great local knowledge and insight. Cozy place and music requests catered for - a relaxing 3 night stay in a quiet spot to recharge the batteries.
Walls in rooms a little bit thin so noise can get through at times.
A very nice tatami traditional style dorm.
Large dorm difficult to heat in winter, so a little cold when you get back at the end of the afternoon.
15 minutes walk from Dogo Onsen Station.
Thank you so much for another great stay :) The next day we drove to climbing Ishizuchisan in perfect weather. Amazing experience !
The staff was friendly and gave a lot of information about the facility and area when I checked in. Facility was great; nice beds! Bathrooms were nice too. Shared room had easily accessible electrical outlets.
Faucet in the shared room had low water pressure
This place is awesome. Well located with really nice people taking care of this inspiring oasis.100%.
Good person,good position,good price!
Very friendly and informative staff, comfortable, stylish guesthouse. Close to Dogo Onsen and the trams. Close to some great restaurants and eating places
Ladies' toilet on a different floor was a little inconvenient.
i was pleasantly surprised by the japanese style rooms (i booked in a hurry) and the owners are really nice! the shower room is actually a former onsen (so with the sitting showers(that can also be used standing) etc.) There is a lock at the outside door, so you have the entire thing to yourself.
the shower room could host several people, but since it is mixed gender, only one person can use it at a time. In busy periods, this may cause issues (you can just go to dogo onsen in that case ;) )
helpful host, near to dogo onsen, awesome common part (roof, lounge, kitchen), really great futon
lot of thing closing around at 22h
Lovely hosts, very nice tatami rooms, great kitchen for cooking your own dinner, REAL coffee for breakfast, comfy common room and a great view from the roof terrace! This guesthouse has everything you need! Btw: Ask Matthew for the ramen-place! One of the best eats we had in Japan.
I liked hammock on the rooftop. I liked this amazing couple running the hostel and their hospitality. I liked their recommendation on the places to eat. I liked the common room with the funky tree in the middle. I liked the tatami dorm and now it's organised. Basically, I liked everything. I'm pretty sure that I'm coming back soon. Sono stato impressionata della casa e ospitalità :)
The staff is really helpfull, friendly and knows the area very good! Compliments for them! The location and accomodation are also very nice within walkable distance from the tramstop and oldest onsen of Japan.
Everything was fabulous
Guests are so kind and nice. Guests house just near to dogo onsen.
Matt and Nori-san were very nice. The room had an air condition and the futon was very comfortable. The Dogo Onsen is just a 5 minute walk away.
maybe a bit far away from the center.
A fantastic and well run hostel, friendly and helpful staff, homely and clean with oodles of charm. One of the finest in Shikoku.
The owners gave us excellent advice regarding local restaurants and walking routes. They were really helpful. The rooms were comfortable adn the bathrooms were clean and pleasant.
The owners were greats and the service was awesome. They gave me a lot of tips of where to go and place to eat. I would love to go back there again
The Sen Guesthostel was one of the best on our trip around japan. When we are next time in Japan, we will stay there again.
Everything! Definitely the best place I've been to. Matt et Nori (the owners) are just awesome, the building is nice, the rooms are confortable, the common area very cosy and the kitchen very convenient. There is a terrace upstair very nice to have a glass and chat a bit. You're just 5 minutes from Dogo Onsen and 20 minutes by tram from the JR station. There is a shopping mall just the next street with even a little Ghibli shop. Don't hesitate to go there !
A touch of Japanese traditions prepared for a slightly upscale backpacker crowd. Very friendly and helpful owner. Good base to visit the area.
The staff is very helpful. Gave me lots of good travel advice for Matsuyama, the rest of Japan, and even a later trip in South Korea. Privacy curtains on the beds. Hot showers. They even had real French press coffee!
The personell is very kind, and has good knowledge about the surrounding area
