public onsen was great, the staff was friendly enough

really old place - badly needs renovation, especially carpets in coridors, smells of dampness everywhere, difficult to find this place - no proper signs or anything and the place is hardly visible from the road

The staff was friendly and attentive. The amenities were explained well, including the bus and local area.

Overall the facilities were in very poor condition. Hall carpets were threadbare, stained, and in desperate need of even a basic vacuum. The shower room was moldy. Even after letting the water run for 10 minutes, the water temperature was warm at best. The futons and comforters were musty and had several dead insects folded inside. And our room absolutely reeked of stale cigarette smoke which quickly began to permeate our clothing and luggage. Very poor value for price.

With a thorough renovation this could be a very nice ryokan. Now it's a rather dirty place. Nice traditional breakfast!

The very nervous receptionist does all what he can but he isn't the right man on the right place

Good location, close to station and bus stops, staff were helpful enough

The fixtures were really old and the rooms smelled a bit. The place could really do with a refurbishment.

    The staff was friendly.

The facilities are very old (built in the 50ties or 60ties) and pretty much run down. It smells somehow moldy from the high humidity and for Japanese measures it is not very clean. The bath is clean, but as well not in a very good condition anymore. They do not offer dinner in the Ryokan and after 8PM it's tricky to find something to eat in those village...

    Rooms, facilities, breakfast.

I called and asked about the check-out time, the staff said "after 10", but the staff knock on the door outside the hotspring at 10. They should speak English well as the check out time is just very common English.

Staff was very friendly. It's a good place to relax and visit Ashi lake. Clean facilities and also the room. The onsen is the best.

Our room smells bad and the futon was not confortable. The indications to get to the hotel were bad, there's a bus from the station each 20 minutes.
