Attentive staff, beautiful rooms, the private Onsen open to the stars was a highlight, Japanese lounging clothing to wear, even to dinner was a treat, great food and sake. This was a lovely overnight stay for us between Nozawa Onsen and hakuba. A staff member spoke good English and looked after us. Highly recommended.
Loved it all.
Staff was accomodating. Pick us up from station and offered us a ride to the castle as we were delayed in our arrival.
Maybe an old hotel but layout is practical and functional.
No Transfer JR Station
Friendly staff Kaiser dinner Very good breakfasts Rooftop onsen Complimentary transport to and from city Evening entertainment Quiet location Nearby chicken restaurant recommended by hotel.
The onsen, the room was large and very high quality fittings including an amazing massage chair.
No Wifi in the bedrooms and was a 20 minute bus ride from Matsumoto station.
• General ambiance. • Friendly, accommodating staff, good service. • Quality and presentation of the "Osusume course" kaiseki dinner. • Very adequate Japanese breakfast. • Outdoor rooftop private onsen baths. • Transport to and from town provided. • Nearby casual restaurant specialising in chicken, recommended by the hotel.
• Suburban location without countryside views (but this is reflected in the relatively moderate room rates.)
Lovely staff going out of their way to accommodate our limited language skills, stunningly presented traditional Japanese meal. The use of the private bath was a nice extra.
Care of the staff, exquisite dinner, singalong with all the guests after dinner, which was brilliant, everybody singing nostalgic Japanese songs. Very much to be recommended.
It is an amazing place to stay: - The bath under the sky, that was amazing; - We even got the dinner plan, with some 8 different dishes written in English and even our names were on it, that was nice to have and to know, what exactly we were eating; - The food was amazing;
Very special place. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was very traditional and very nice. We opted for the half board and we're treated to a fabulous dinner and large breakfast (Japanese style only) The onsen on the roof were private and free, and we're really wonderful. The night we were there there was music show on.
Location is pretty poor. A good 20 min taxi from the station. There is a local bus service but it is hard to find the right bus. Price is high but it's a very nice experience overall
Onsen was super nice and Japanese traditional food course was so yummy. The server always came and caring me.great service we will come back to see their face.
15 to 10 mins from hecduhuu
The staff was very pleasing and helpful. We only stayed for a night but the onsen and rooms were really good. 24hr Lawson next door was helpful.
The staff and their help. The private baths. By the bus stop.
Location is a little bit far from downtown.
Loved the Japanese style rooms!! The service and the food was beyond my expectations. Everything was well planned out for us.
The bathroom was a little small, like everything in Japan.
This is a small Japanese traditional hotel located on a Asama hot springs. It is essential to enjoy Japanese onsen culture to get the most out of both hotel and Matsumoto / Nagano area. Hotel staff dies it best to provide service and create Japanese home like atmosphere.
The breakfast and daily menus are quite scarce, which is probably normal for this type of the hotel, but may not be suitable for international tourists.
Very friendly and efficient staff.
Really lovely staff and great experience and loved the whole place.
Little bit far out though once you know the way easy bus service. No English on the sign meant we just trusted the taxi driver on where we were!
Very nice Onsen, very nice room!
Proprietor family went out of their way to make our stay countable and good after we told them of below. Lady owner called local brewery on her own to arrange for a private tour. Private outdoor onsen was great and evening life music a good treat.
Some of young staff are very poor in language and service attitude
Had an absolutely amazing time here even though we only stayed for one night. Very welcoming staff and room was beyond spacious and immaculately prepared. When we arrived we were ushered to have a cup of tea and a Japanese sweet while the staff were preparing paperwork and asking us if we had any food allergies. Highly recommend to book for the option of dinner and breakfast too. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Private outdoor onsen can be booked free of charge and highly recommend the experience. Can't speak of a bad word about this stay at all.
