Excellent location near to shopping areas and train station. Friendly and helpful staff
Value for money, the accommodation was good for its price.
It was a bit dusty in the room.
A bit too expensive. No wi-fi in rooms.
It is close to Akihabara and Ueno. The room is cozy for three or four persons. Friendly and helpful staff. A perfect view of Tokyo Skytree from the rooftop.
Very close to several railway stations! Near to Chou-dori/Ameyoko shopping areas Free Wifi connection was great Staff spoke good English and was helpful Free soap and shampoo in the attached private bathroom
No TV in room (only in the lounge) Lounge only had a microwave (no hot plate for cooking) Towels are for rent (not free) - need to bring your own (or pay for the towel use) Beds are not the most comfortable (thin pads, not a mattress; pillows aren't soft)
This is more like a simple hotel because of its private rooms with bath but it has the advantages of a hostel, like a lounge room with kitchen and the possiblity to wash laundry. The staff is very friendly and the location is great, with several stations in walking distance. Akihabara and Ueno can be reached by foot. The WIFI was good in the lounge but not so good in the rooms. All in all, it's good value for the price.
I found the beds extremely uncomfortable and the pillows too thick.
Near a JR station on most important line. We moved very easily to all point of interest in Tokyo, at a fair price
They didn't provide towels so we had to use hours.
The location was actually quite good. Many major points of interest were very close, along with subway and train stops. The hostel was clean. Very reasonably priced as well. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hostel is a converted business hotel and you can tell. There is not a lot of decor or personality to the space.
Location was really good next to Okachimachi JR station. There are many places to have dinner and many shops nearby.
Beds were not very confortable as the matresses were too thin.Otherwise the room was quite big for three and has bathroom inside.
Size of bathroom
This hostel has only private rooms with bathroom. A nice and functional lounge with tatami, table and kitchenette is available. We stayed in a 5 beds room (2 bunk beds, one normal): large enough for 5 people and luggage. Small but functional bathroom with shower/bathtub. Towels can be rented. Quiet location, the right distance from JR, metro and the lively Ueno district. Family mart just opposite.
The location and the staff
This was a shortish walk from the airport express train. The room was quite big and had four bunks. Staff were polite and spoke some English.
A little old but for the price I could not expect more.
My friend and I enjoyed our stay at this hostel. It was close to the JR station so very easy to get around Tokyo, beds were comfy enough. Room was big compared to Japan standards. Common room. Only negative was no wifi in the room we were in. But it's a compromise I was willing to make for everything else.
No wifi in room
Great location, just a minute walk away from a subway station, good value for money
The private shower in the room and the lounge was very clean and welcoming. The 4 person room was spacious.
Carpet in the hallways were stained and needed a thorough cleaning.
easy walk to transport and ueno park. during our stay it was very quiet and we had nearly exclusive use of the breakfast nook and tv lounge. very, very helpful staff!
What I liked in this hotel is the value for money, accessibility to stations and shopping areas and very helpful (English speaking) staff.
Excellent wifi, room was simple but clean. The staff was very kind!
The sharing kitchen is good for us. And the location is also convenient to other shopping areas
The room is not that comfortable.
The guy at the front desk was very sweet. We got a group room and it met all of our needs. Pretty good value.
For a budget youth hostel, this was a great one to stay in for our last night before flying back. The location is a little tricky to find, but exceptionally convenient and closely located to Akihabara, which is a 5-10 minute walk away. Pros: - cheap - clean and cosy enough - friendly and helpful staff - a little road noise from the street but mostly quiet - air con in the room (but a bit tricky to use without help) - staff were happy to let us store our luggage with them after check-out while we explored a bit more before our flight - free wifi available - lounge room is great - microwave and fridge available for shared use, and there's a traveller's guide with comments and tips from guests which is really handy
Sort of Cons: - no amenities provided - towels are about 200 yen to rent out (though this was ok for us), and other amenities are available for a small and reasonable price - washing machine and dryer available, but again for a small and reasonable price considering
Close to Yushima and Ueno Okachimachi subway stops. Calm location, less touristy area. Helpful English-speaking staff, well-run hostel. Convenience stores with everything you need steps away. Not a conventional hotel, but functionally what you need for the basics. Had small room with two sets of bunk beds and a private bath that worked for two parents and two teens.
