Score from 734 reviews Very good
Filthy toilets and shower area with bad odour; mattress cover, quilt cover and pillow case feel moist; tiny passage between the bunk beds - hard to get in and out.
English speaking staff who can provide some travel advice. Relatively close to Kyoto station. Cheap. Giant locker.
Sound-proof is a bit bad
informative and professional staff easy access from Kyoto station
nice staff and really helpful as we checking in early but without any charge. you can planning trip more easily because of many information about Kyoto and maps provide by the hostel. There's little gift when you check out.
Good location, very clean, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, highly recommendable.
I stayed 4 nights there... This hostel is just one of the best I have been to til now while traveling! I really recommend it : everything is just Perfect!
Only complaint is that bathrooms could be a little cleaner, rather long lines in the morning to shower
Capsule had a lot of privacy and was rather spacious, huge lockers, and lots of common area, friendly staff
Only the size of the room but that's Japan for you!
The reception guy was awesome really helpful and friendly!
The smell of room and bed reminded me of sweated socks. It looked clean but it might help to aerate the futon from time to time.
Very good bunk beds offering more privacy then usual hostel double-deck beds. Good common areas. Good and stable wifi. Kind staff speaking very good English. Hostel is close to convenience stores, station, bus lines leading to attractions and Japanese restaurants. Very convenient huge lockers for every guest in the room. A brochure with plenty of information about sightseeing spots and how to get there was available in every room and in common room. Free sake tasting in the evenings :) I would recommend this hostel.
Location, staff, clean.
Location. It is a little complicated to find. They should send better info on how to arrive to the hostel from the station
I like spending one night at this Hostel. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is very clean. I spent an amazing evening talking with all the guests and the staff.
The bathroom here is very small. Very difficult to fit in the shower.
We enjoyed getting to be in a traditional Japanese room and sleep on tatami mats and futons :) The room had all the basics necessary as well as a desk, closet and chair.
the bathroom is not private enough
the bed room is really clean, staf hostel really helpfull
Proximity to Kyoto station, this is ideal for catching bus to tour city, buy a day pass in tourist office on 2nd floor of station 500yen for a day unlimited travel. Some sights are a simple train ride away which JR pass is eligible for. The individual bunk beds have curtains for privacy & very comfortable There are international chargers in each individual bunk, plus Japenese, plus USB chargers, a personal Tv with headphones also. The thing I found particularly wonderful was the welcome book which gives hints and tips on visiting the area, mapped and numbered according to bus routes and areas.time to site etc. They also provide a handy map of where you can get food, drinks & the public bath is only ten mins away, perfect to go jacuzzi and relax after long day walking around the city. You can dress in a kimono and get a photo if you like too.
Free wifi everywhere Kind staff Wonderful people Amazing facilities
The hostel is small and the toilet and showers are next to the common area, so that you will brush your teeth and wash your face basically in front of the other guests in the common area and depends on the time it could be annoying.
The hostel is at just 15 mins from Kyoto Station and in a nice area full of bars and restaurants. The stuff speaks english and the room are clean and confortable.
It's quite near station, around 10 minutes walking and the direction is very clear. I like the room type which is japanesse style. Wifi connection is very good
Excellent location, super friendly and helpful staff, quiet/private feeling rooms. Would've loved to try out the free kimono dressing but ran out of time. Clean.
Some people were loud and the hallway floor creaked.
Good place that's actually worth the money. The gift at the front when I was there is extremely kind and speaks English well. When I left he gave me a nice pair of chopsticks as a souvenir and thank you gift.
Very compacted rooms, but I guess this is what a budget hostel is like.
Great place to chat with other solo travellers all around the world about your travel experiences. Laundry to wash and dry for 500 yen. Very informative staff.
Great common area with free sake tasting! Lots of international (solo) travellers. The staff speaks English well and are super helpful. Big lockers in the room, comfy beds with power plugs. Walking distance from Kyoto train station and around the corner from a bus stop. Great hostel!
The staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved staying there.
