The manager (owner?) was very nice, very accommodating, spoke good english! He offered Happo-One lift passes at a significant discount (¥2900). Storage room downstairs from lobby to keep skis/snowboards. Parking available. Bus to the slopes stopped right outside. Many restaurant options nearby. Manager suggested good outdoor Onsen in the area. When checking out, he very happily & easily split up the payment of the rooms between the several parties.
All people in there was really kind. Every day in good mood and very helpful.
I was there only few days
Central location to buses. Close to slopes; restaurants.Helpful, friendly staff.
Not cheap at $A86/night.
The staff spoke English very well. The owner actually left the front desk to help jump our car and translated when necessary as we purchased a new battery.
The hotel itself is a little older, but what it lacks in creature comforts is well out weighed by the amazing staff and uplifting atmosphere.
Onsen was good location was very good bed sheets were crisp and pillow comfortable
hotel looks tired and needs to be refurbished Breakfast was ordinary,no choice given
close to the ski slopes, bars, restaurants and visitor information centre. very friendly staff
a bit dated beds and shower cubicle to small
Very helpful friendly service. Good location for ski shuttle and close to central bus stop. Quiet rooms and easy to set temperature. Close to several small Japanese restaurants.
Bar across street once had noisy customer leaving in the wee hours.
Location near the Happo information centre and shuttle buses was terrific. Staff were fantastic.
Breakfast was simple but ok, cereal, fresh fruit, toast with jam and honey, etc.
Most acient toilet seat ever seen in Japan. Windows without any temperature protection. And street noice during the night that doesn't let you sleep.
Location, breakfast (extra), very helpful staff, central location
I booked this for a friend who was heading over on a solo snowboarding trip for 2 weeks. He loved it, the room was much bigger than other hotels we looked at and was comfortable with own bathroom and cleanliness. The location is great for skiiers/snowboarders. He has told me numerous times he will be staying there again!
Great location - 100m from Highway Bus Terminal, ski-bus stop at the hotel door. The staff was fantastic. The hotel is very nice, although not new one.
I called in advance to request a later check in time. The owner or main manager not only allowed us to arrive late at night, but picked us up at Hakuba station. Very nice service. Extremely helpful. Not a bad walk to the Gondola ski lift.
The communal spaces such as the bath area, lounge room and dining room. The excellent full course breakfast. The Olympic memorabilia, the friendly and informed staff and the central location with a shuttle bus stop in front of the hotel and the shuttle bus information centre only a 2 minute walk away.
The bar across the street. Patrons were loud when leaving and walking on the street.
Really friendly owners, actually very happy all round
Great Hotel in a Great Location with discounted lift passes. The owner is a ski champion from way back and is well known and respected in the local community
I liked everything. It has all the negatives associated with all accomodation in Japan, but hey, if you cant cop that - go home!
the staff were incredible, very friendly and helpful every day every time. Room is large, clean and just what we needed.
Very noisy at night. Get a room not fronting the street.
Wonderful and attentive service from counter and kitchen staff. Onsen is nice.
The best thing about this pension is its location. It is in the main Hakuba Happo area and is only 30 seconds walk from the information centre (which is where all the buses stop), even has a golden loop bus stop at the door step. lawsons convenience is only 1 minute walk. The hotel has wifi in the lounge area only which is ok since you can mingle with other guests at the pension. There is a table tennis and billiard table as well. The pension has its own onsen. Even though it is old, it is well maintained as I saw them clean and vacuum daily. The owners of this hotel are extremely friendly and very welcoming. They speak english close to conversation level and never fail to smile. They also offer discount lift passes to happo ski field. I come to hakuba every year and will come back here every time.
I didn't buy breakfast there because at 3500 yen its very expensive. There is only one washing machine and dryer but at least its free to use. It was always available for me anyway. As a pension, it is excellent, especially for its price, but cannot be compared to a 5 star chain hotel.
Helpful staff, and good location.
Parking is far from hotel so if you keep your ski equipment in vehicle it can add time to your morning routine.
The very accommodating staff gave us excellent recommendations for the area. Our triple room was completely adequate for a ski area and included new comforters with fresh laundered duvets. The hotel's onsen made us feel great after a day of skiing, and the lounge with fireplace on the second floor was a welcome place to gather with friends. The location can't be beat.
